You were cast perfectly for that movie, Keith. You and Kurt are still sharing a bottle of booze on the ice with the camp burning down. Hope a rescue party comes sooner than later. But that would ruin it.....que the (awesome) creepy music.

People talk about him as the arbiter I will always think of his most iconic role being Goliath and Spawn

Childs from The Thing and King from Platoon are my two favorite Keith David roles. Though, he was funny in Men At Work, too.

The Thing (1982) still remains unsurpassed the best Science Fiction Horror. A masterpiece in my opinion. Keith David's character 'Childs' was my favorite in the film. "Why are you so damn anxious to let it in here?!".

I did my first movie with Mr. Keith David and he was really cool with me. Some people he didn’t really fine too cool but he definitely thought I was lol that’s all I’m gonna say. The movie was called Forbidden Fruits. I was 18

So glad Keith got to hold his flamethrower again in the mission Cortana in Halo 3!

If I could, I would make a not quite sequel, not quite prequel, but another movie that runs alongside the original, but it’s entirely from the point of Childs perspective, and the movie would end with Childs stumbling upon RJ talking to himself, revealing Childs did survive, but the Childs at the end of the original was The Thing.

This guy is so cool.

His character in Dead Presidents is 🔥 too..

I came just to hear the sound of Keith David's voice!

Probably never got some of the roles he deserved but I love the ones he did.

I HAVE BEEN BEGGING FOR THIS SEQUEL for DECADES!!!!!! It starts with Keith David and Kurt Russel, GGI age-regressed so that it's seamless with the ending of the first movie. And they suddenly hear a loud howling sound in the air and it becomes obvious that they have to find a way to survive long enough to kill the Thing because they are the world's only hope. MAKE THE FILM, John!!!

You know, there is an excellent PS2 game of the same name that acts as a "sort-of" sequel...at the beginning, you find Childs' body frozen in the snow...come back a little while later, and its not there anymore...

The only way I’d ever be okay with a sequel, is if John came out of directing retirement to make it himself. Anyone else doing it I don’t want it.

Especially David Gordon Green he has to stay away from The Thing Franchise if anyone should continue the thing is Either John Carpenter or Guillermo Del Toro

I think neither one was a thing and they just build on the paranoia. The breath thing doesnt make sense because when they see bennings theres vapor coming out of his mouth

Its just lighting. The Thing would show breath, its a perfect copy.

Childs and Windows were always my favorites after Macready. A sequel would have been okay but I don't think it would have surpassed the first one. I don't mind Childs being the thing or Macready or neither of them.

The Thing may have been an inspiration towards "Get Out" in that the black dude doesn't get it in the first act and actually makes it to the end

CHILDS WASN'T THE THING. IF HE WAS HE WOULD ATTACK MACREADY IN LAST SCENE, THERE IS NO REASON FOR THE THING NOT TO ATTACK/ASSIMILATE HUMAN IN THAT SITUATION 1-ON-1.
