Part of Tim's Flying V build was to incorporate an onboard theremin. This is the first attempt to build a working prototype from an existing electronics kit. The optical theremin uses a pair of light-sensitive diodes as the triggers. I had some difficulty with some lead wires soldering correctly to the circuit board. But it was finally completed.
Testing ...Well, that was another thing altogether. I found two wires had come loose, and after re-soldering the wires,I installed a new 9-volt battery and proceeded to connect that to my mixer, since I do not have a working guitar amp. I tried various channel strips and got nothing out of it. I also had this problem with Rob's Iceman as well.
I also picked up a new tool as well. The OptiVisor. This is something I should have put in my tool arsenal years ago. The magnifying visor kit came with a 6-lens set and a 2x add-on loop packed in a cut foam hard case.
Up next ... It looks like I will be shopping around for a cheap amp that I can connect the theremin to, along with going back over my soldering work.
