We are a Gen-X, Male Body System, on year 4 of our diagnosis with DID. We're hoping that by exploring the issues that we deal with as a System, we might in turn help other Systems by sharing our experiences, current research and by providing our perspective on the unique challenges faced by Male Body Systems everywhere coping with Dissociative Identity Disorder.

Was only just able to watch this, and very glad I finally got around to it. I have a few friends who have newly discovered the existence of their systems and they all express frustration at the lack of “proper words” to describe what is happening. Well, here is the terminology they have been looking for! Thanks very much, I’ll pass the information on to them.

All we/he did was find the paper and then attempt to make it understandable, all credit goes to the papers authors. We wouldn't presume otherwise. Thank you though.💕💪👥

I'm curious if there's anything to how we conceptualize it as neurons reacting to the the trauma holding neurons like when you touch something hot and flinch away, and so far, this is the closest we've come to an answer that is scientific enough to scratch that specific thought itch. :'D

Lowkey hate the ANP/EP conceptualization. It’s just outlandish and obviously built on a false assumption of the world. There is no separation between normal and survival, it’s all the same but with different words and connotations. I think internalized colonialism and racism and classism have really fucked with these subjects. Daily life functions have direct parallels to survival, shopping is the same as hunting/gathering. Shopping in a mall can even be more dangerous and traumatic than a stroll in the woods gathering berries and bringing home game. The true distinction in parts is the personal & self and the social/interpersonal & identity. It’s like your gender and gender identity, one’s inherent and apart of self, the other is more sociocultrally defined. ANPS are the body, your relationships, titles, accolades, reputation. EPs are like the mind, who you are/think/feel, the various quirks and patterns that make up you. It also makes sense why there’s a duality, you take things in as personal or impersonal, so two simultaneously concepts form and become integrated together or to other areas, if they can’t then they stay unintegrated. I’d also argue singlets are disordered bc they have no ability to actually adapt rapidly or dynamically, a functionally multiple society could beat any singlet society easy. Like is the brain supposed to be that rigid, life is rough maybe some loosening is necessary… just look what they’ve done with the world
