THE THAUMATURGE - Game of the Year? | Review After Completion

The Thaumaturge is the most-engrossed I’ve ever been in a video game’s plot, thanks in large part to its fascinating cast of semi-historically accurate characters and wonderfully-voice acted dialogue that’s equal parts witty, believable, and thought-provoking. I consider it a legitimate contender for Game of the Year!

This doesn't seem like my type of game, but the way you describe the combat reminds me a bit of Star Renegades. Choosing your actions not only to do damage but to disrupt the enemy's makes for a pretty interesting dynamic.

I hadn't heard of Star Renegades, but I just watched some gameplay and it does look similar! Would love to see more turn-based games implement this idea going forward.

It'll post in a couple hours when the game comes out. Not accounting for a day-one sale (if one exists), the game will retail for $35.

Based on The Inquisitor's gameplay footage, I strongly agree haha.
Would be nice to compare the story to another game you liked, or a specific movie or a tv show you consider has a good story, otherwise calling it having the best story doesn't mean much.
what about the performance tho ? thats my biggest grip with this game. in the demo the performance kinda wonky but still a good game

But for some clipping and choppy animations, I walked away pretty impressed by the game's performance. The load times are very fast, I encountered no gameplay bugs, and my only complaint was a crash or two that didn't end up impacting my playthrough thanks to the game's autosave feature.
