EVILSPAWN1003 It's not that bad. I have been present at the divorce of many TR drivelines/shells. Pretty much everything comes out... the injection hardware, transaxle, engine, accessories, subframe, rear suspension, et al. The bolts holding the cradle in place to the main tube chassis are pretty big as I recall. It can be done under a couple hours, removing it all. Dealing with bleeding the coolant, brakes, clutch line etc. is another story!!!! And these things took like 12 quarts of oil too LOL

Q- Bert Belts. Recommended interval every 2 years but many owners go to 5 to defray service costs.

I've sat in the drivers seat of one of these when I was a kid. I'll never forget how nice the interior was and how nice it looked.

This is the most iconic sportscar ever. An arcade game serie devoted to it "outrun" and computer games. An icon of the 1980's. Was printed in color posters that was the big thing to order over mail in the 1980's. Appeared in movies. It was like a the god of cars. Classic perfection.

A piece of art. No other Ferrari had this beautiful line. I love it!!!

they don’t make the testarossa tires anymore. if you see testarossa’s with their correct wheels, chances are the tires are more than a decade old.

***** I was too brash in my reply to you, the undertone of elitism in Ventura's voice just irked me and made me want to lash out. For that I apologize and you're absolutely right. Art is subjective and though I might not be a fan of 80s and 90s sports cars, I can see the appeal of the Testarossa's minimalistic looks. To me, the last beautiful Ferrari is the 365 GTC/4, but of course there'll be many thinking otherwise and there's nothing wrong with that.

So JUST today got friend's Golf transmission fixed. It required a sensor that only VW sells. No aftermarket brand even makes those. I really hope future is not so one sided. OEM parts are unnecessarily super expensive.

yes. He talks this is a old jeep or something. I bet he has to take that engine off after every ride for repairs and none of the electrics works or it lits on fire. Price of this disaster is only going to decline. Good investment, sir.

I've always loved this car; since I was too young to remember. Its about damn time this car got more recognition, no idea why it's somewhat forgotten in the world of sports & super cars. What a gorgeous, great driving car. Such a unique vehicle. Without a doubt my favorite Ferrari

When I was little I had a diecast Testarossa and my brother had an Countach. And they had changing colours paint. Beautiful days...

Finesse is never a word I've associated with the Testarossa, and I used to own one...

I love the Testarossa, mostly due to the fact that my first (memorable) hot wheels was a Testarossa. I'd love either the Countach or Testarossa though. The Countach has more road presence and is more legendary in my opinion.

I was so lucky that I was allowed to drive a Testarossa one day ... It was very impressive. It was a hobbyist vehicle with a Maserati engine, but visually in perfect condition. Of course, red.

I know a guy that used to deliver supercars old and new. He drove pretty much every Ferrari and this was his all time favourite!

This motor is an ORCHESTRA!

As a kid I thought this was the coolest looking car ever made but as I got older I started seeing it as kind of awkwardly designed. The rear is stubby with the bumper looking tacked on, the nose extends outward too far especially for a mid-engine car (crumple zone solution?), the front air-dam interrupts the lines of the car by setting the nose higher than the rest of the body giving the car an odd profile, etc, etc. They were on the right track with the 512TR which vastly improved the car aesthetically, this included rounding out the nose so that its lines flowed with the rest of the body. But the 348 (baby Testarossa) really took the Testarossa concept and perfected it, taking the best design elements from the TR and sculpting them into a perfectly proportioned, compact body.

2 thoughts of people come to my mind of that era...Don Johnson Miami Vice and Sir Mix A-lot "She's my Testarossa!"

Dude, it deserves respect because of its presence in popular culture, between Miami Vice and OutRun. Forget the Countach, this is the quintessential '80s supercar.

Otis Chandler got his Dark Green Testarossa delivery off the boat in 1990, drove it straight up to Ventura to the shop I was working. (We were doing restoration work on some of his collection) The car was lower and smaller than I imagined; with only 70 miles on it it was still ticking and burning the new smell off the engine & exhaust. Forest green metallic, unusual but beautiful.

The testarossa and countach are special in there own ways. I love the testarossa for its simple no nonsense performance and simple yet stunning looks, the countach however i like the flared arches and huge spoilers and ridiculous impracticality of it all. I wouldn’t buy a countach expecting ownership to be easy but it’s just special in its own unapologetic way ;) Don’t see why you couldn’t have both

The all-time best styled and most stunning car of the 80s a real sportscar where the accelerator pedal is actually attached to the engine and no electronic computers doing the driving for you unlike the junk they produce nowadays.

My neighbor has a Testarossa and he takes me to his car club in it all the time.

I hate it when people say "you cant believe how cheap they were at one point"...all have gone through the roof and you can hardly afford them anymore unless you are very well off. Or you do afford them, but fear every day it's gonna need a service.

l just noticed that all flat engines have particular sound to them ,very kool . And everyone from them loves the look of a lambo but no one would want to live with one ,this car is way more reliable ,easy to drive too ,good choice :)
