    Concentration camps never mean anything good. If you think about how much of a nightmare it possibly is - it's probably a 100 times worse. I mean...well no, let's not talk about what happened in German concentration camps ages ago. It's pure horror. I'm convinced it's as bad if not even worse...didn't think this could be possible first but I honestly think this country beat my country in terms of the horrors they've put people through...devastating...

  • @leenuhh_

    They're never good. I remember watching several documentaries on NK when somebody snuck in recording the soldiers working at the camp gathering people of all age who has broken rules, taken them into a clear road or forest and shoot the people there while just throwing their bodies to the ground or even beat them to death. They also have scheduling to when they'll go to work or school with the alarm there, so many homeless children due to several deaths of starvation and torturing of families, the officials there will hand you jobs and you can't choose it or you'll just be kicked out of the city part, living in the dumps. It's just bad because the rules there are so strict that you can get killed for the smallest things. It's scary to think what goes on there everyday and innocent people losing their lives at the camp. Their prisons are probably their camp. Nobody knows when they get out or if they'll ever do from their punishments. ( sorry, i just watch too many documentaries of north korea back then lmao ; since I've seen people who visit there vlog and it looks so quiet, so I wanted to see if it was really like that but there were actually something dark behind it all. )

    Exactly, people are missing the point. This government is acting like makeup is a drug. And that changing a hairstyle is a rebellion act punishable by being brutally beaten to death. @Quick Dickson forty seven I think the other 200 people who liked my comment would agree with me that everyone deserves empathy. It's not her fault. Her country is at fault. Until you know what it's like to live a day in her shoes, back when all of this was happening, you really can't judge or act like you know all the details. Sending you love dude, like for real it's okay if you don't agree with me, I just would think that if this was flipped and you were in her position, you would be so disappointed knowing that this is how your story was being interpreted. This is real....the freedoms people have in western countries, like we take it for granted so often. If you lived a day in her life I think your heart would break for her too.

  • @x.Aura.x

    @x.Aura.x

    @Quick Dickson forty seven So you should have empathy because none of that would have ever happened if it wasn't for the chaos and horror going on in North Korea. If her family had been anywhere else, she would have never had to make such choices. Hard choices. That clearly still haunts her every second of every day. I just hope she doesn't see these types of comments about her because she has so much love in her heart, I want her to know that her feelings are valid. In North Korea, her brother as the older male would have been taken regardless, he made the choice to protect her. There was nothing she could have done. It's hard to see it that way, but her entire family should never be in this situation in the first place..so the idea of placing blame on her is just so wrong. And for you to say you wouldn't wear makeup, that's not what the phrase "put yourself in someone else's shoes" means, it means to literally take on their emotions and all the information that that person has in that moment and then acting, not you and your current life. If you had existed in her world, you'd see it differently.

I happen to agree with it, at least the freedom part as you can find happiness anywhere/anytime. My body is tired and I am not sure how much longer I can hang on and keep fighting, but I still know that I am luckier than some people. For 7yrs I have been fighting a terrible genetic terminal disease and this month we have moved to home chemo, because I am too compromised to be moved. I'm not even sure if we will make rent in 6days, but whatever happens we will be okay. Good luck to you guys! Also, we all suffer and I hope this makes us more empathetic as humans, instead of divides us even more.

    I was born and raised in Canada and in my French culture, makeup was part of being a teenager. I also know about North Korea and different places like that, that has so many strict rules. However, I never realized that wearing makeup or even possessing it, can lead to arrest in North Korea. I feel bad for that lady and her family. Her brother risked his life for his sister, over things we wouldn't even think twice about here in Canada. Thank you for this educational video.

After a while, I wasn't me anymore. You look in the mirror and don't see you. You are gone. A while later, my mom brought me a tube of mascara and some foundation. Silly as it sounds, it was me again. I had something that made me feel alive and made me feel like there was life beyond the tiny hospital room. If something can take you away, even for a minute, from the sadness and frustration and trapped feeling you are in, it's worth a lot.
