The original members are not always the best. Ollie Woodson sang every other member (past and present) out of the auditorium. Ollie joined in 1984. Sadly, he passed in 2010.

Sometimes Ollie and Dennis sound very much alike..but Dennis 'shouts' like David said. Honestly I can't tell Ron from Eddie on some songs ..but Nobody sounds like David.

They still sound good. Their performances still exhibit high levels of excellence and professionalism. We see you Mr. Otis Williams.

Listening to the Temptations sing brings back lots of good memories. I was on my first date in 1977 at the Odessy disco night club in Brooklyn, Ny (the same club John Travolta dance to Saturday Night Fever) ..They always booked many popular young groups and singers.. The Temptations, Gloria Gaynor (I Will Survive), The Tramps (Disco Inferno)! No lines.. just walk right in . Grab a table, dance and /or watch the shows! Those were the days!!

Totally agree. Ollie Woodson was the only one who came anywhere near to Ruffin's rendition of any song led by Ruffin.

The legacy of David Ruffin lives in that nobody can or ever will bring a feel to songs he recorded. Ali, was the only one that comprehends the meaning of lyrics.

I wouldn't say that Ollie Ali Woodson was the only one who knew how to sing a lyric, there was Dennis Edwards and Richard Street.

60 yrs since the Temptations came to be. It's like a precious jewel to still see Otis Williams continue to do his thing with the group. Wow, it's so hard to believe that all of the original members and Dennis are gone. That time back in the 60's when all that musical magic happening was a time that's stamped in history 4 ever; a time of marching for civil rights, the Vietnam War etc. And the music of MOTOWN played a very big part in that era. Never ever can be duplicated or imitated. Thank Otis . THE TEMPTATIONS 4 EVER. RIP Melvin, Eddie, Paul, David, Dennis. What a great legacy of music and performances you all left this world. The Temptations were always good at replacement members with the right people, although none will ever match the originals. To still be doing this after almost 60 years is amazing!

No matter what you want to say. If you can be a part of that group, you are one of the best male singers on the planet. They are a singing and dance group. Then cannot hide behind instruments, they are the instruments. To sing and dance together. I don't compare them, they are what they are now and that's damn good music-wise based on anything else out here. You going to have real musicians and performers who have gone through the fire. Temptations Forever.

The founding members of the Temptations were: Otis Williams Elbridge “Al” Bryant Melvin Franklin Eddie Kendricks Paul Williams ----------------- They founded the group in 1960. ------------------ Paul Williams died on August 17th,1973. Elbridge Bryant died on October 26th,1975. Eddie Kendricks died on October 5th,1992. Melvin Franklin died on February 23rd,1995. ------------------- Melvin’s death made Otis Williams the last surviving founding member of the Temptations.

Alexandra Dillard Yes. You are right. That was recorded before David joined, and Motown later added their first big pop hit “The Way You Do The Things You Do” on that album and on “The Temptations Sing Smokey” album.
