The Temple Mount Secrets: An Archaeological Goldmine

Temple Mount has a few mysterious that most people don't know about. The mountain of "trash" that is behind the Dome of the Rock is actually a debris from the illegal excavation at Temple Mount in 1999. This Debris holds 1st and 2nd temple period artifacts. In this video, Rhoda and I, together with our friends Jeremy and Jocelyn go on an unscripted expedition to the Temple Mount. Little did we know, today happens to be the Jerusalem day. A day which is usually known for civil unrest in this area. But this did not prevent us from seeing the debris, and also, accessing a completely new spot - the wall on top of the Eastern Gate. Join us in another adventure of the Unscripted series.

Another great video! Thank you! The Trumpeter Stone, the Balstraude Inscription, the Southern Steps mikvahs, the debris on the southwest end of the platform from the 70AD destruction, the countless finds from the sifting project, and so on, provide overwhelming evidence for the Temple’s location being at or near the Dome of the Rock (not the City of David or the Ophel).

The YT page Holy Land Site has an excellent and very in-depth explanation of why the Temple Mount is indeed the location of the 1st and 2nd temple and why it could not have possibly been in the city of David. The original 500 square cubit border of the 1st temple is still clearly visible on the existing Temple Mount if you know where to look.

The Temple was in the City of David. And it did fit. It hung over into the Kidron Valley. Josephus and a few other Historians said this in their books and Bible also says this. Josephus even states that the Fort Antonia was higher than the Temple so the guards could look over into the Temple to keep an eye on the Jews.

  • @JamesBrandon

    @JamesBrandon

@@patriciadavis646 There is zero archaeological evidence to support that. 1 Kings 8 describes in the first few verses that the ark was brought FROM the City of David up to the new temple that was build on the threshing floor of Araunah. Josephus' account of Antonia Fortress being tall to look over the Temple makes perfect sense considering the fortress was at the north end of the current Temple mount, where the temple was. And I'm afraid you know enough about this topic to think you are right, but not enough to know that you wrong. Strongly encourage you to watch the video I referenced in my original comment. The evidence is overwhelming to the point that arguing is really just a waste of time.

Great video! Thanks so much for sharing your experience. A few years back I had a vivid dream where I saw Jesus come through that gate! He walked down a ways where there was a band playing worship music. There were people standing in bleacher type seating, all waving their arms, shouting to Jesus. It was very exciting. Won't be long now before we meet him in the air.

This makes the most sense to me. It also lines up with what is below it when you walk through underground following the wall. We know that Herod put a platform on the Temple Mount which obscures for those who have come later, allowing him to expand the surface for building his temple (which was indeed the 3rd temple) ... Wonderful getting to tour with you guys and revisit this incredible place on our waiting world ❤🙌🏼💕

Hello Sergio & Rhoda love your videos! Getting back to the actual location of Solomons Temple , I believe it was located where the Dome of the Rock is, and people living back 2000 years ago would have built over the spot were the temples were built. Another indication of the location of the Temple is the pilgrims road leading from the pool of Siloam to the Temple Mount. This would indicate that people were heading towards the temple to offer their sacrifices after being cleansed in the pool of Siloam and not just a random location.

💙 Based on the fact Warren an archeologist discovered a double gate below the double gate that now exists & Josephus documented it was the only double gate. There was a direct view from the Mount of Olives, the double gate & Herod’s Temple on the Temple Mount. So if the current double gate sets on top of original gate then the Temple lines up also. Since there are stones from Solomon to Herod to Suleiman stacked upon each other this would be the original Temple

I’ve been here for 3 weeks and have endeavored to settle in my mind the actual location of the temple and decide between the two locations of the crucifixión and burial. As for the Temple Mount, after taking the Great Bridge Tour and seeing the massive footer stones laid by Herod, also the fact that the aqueduct had been nearly all excavated and identified, I have little doubt that the traditionally held site is the actual Temple Mount. Also the decline is so severe going down to the City of David, I cannot conceive of the possibility of the Temple Mount being located in the alternative location. Also I have walked all over the Temple Mount and there is h more “debris and trash” than what you mentioned, there are very weathered columns and sone everywhere, many beautifully engraved capitals lying in multiple places, also very weathered.

But I didn’t go because I am terrified of heights. When I was at the Southern Steps in 2019 we had a tour guide tell us a lot about the Mikvahs down there. Plus the Pilgrimage Road going up to Temple Mount in 2022 that we almost got a chance to walk up! I’ve explored the area under Temple Mount a bit too. There are some massive stones down there! I am absolutely sure that is were Temple Mount is because of all this evidence and the things I’ve seen up there.

Hi Sergio and Rhoda. I was one who believed that the Temple mount was actually in the City of David, however, I've come to reconsider after more in depth historical explanations of the various areas. There are some good archeologists who have debunked the idea of the Temple mount being in the City of David. I recommend digging in deeply into both viewpoints before forming a conclusion. The initial arguments for City of David sound good and are "compelling" but don't really fit with the archeological evidence. Shalom and thank you for sharing with us!

The Essenes laid out Qumran as a miniature Jerusalem. Based on where their temple was, the the true temple mount is in fact where today there is the dome of the rock (The Copper Scroll Project -author Jim Barfield / Shelly Neese)

I definitely believe as a Christian that have been at the temple mount three times, there's no doubt that there is the holy place of the Temple. Speculations are speculations in my opinion. When I was there I knew it! There is the right place! Greetings from Brazil 🇮🇱🇧🇷

S&R thank you so very much for the beautiful view from the Eastern Gate to Gethsemane. I had no idea it existed. I look forward to visiting that area next time I am in Jerusalem the Capital of Israel. God bless you and please keep posting your awesome videos. At this time my heart aches for Israel. But I know that God is faithful to all His promises and the Jewish people will prevail. May our God Most High bless you both and your work. Texas USA.

Regarding the temple location, can you please look into Norma Robertson's study and theory. Her research is quite plausible in my opinion. It would be nice if you could include that in your findings. Exciting video btw.. cool insights! God bless you both!

Great adventure! Always something new to see on the Temple mount .I think it is beside city of David only because fortess of Antonia has to be bigger. Temple wouldn't fit where they say .But it needs investigating Either way God is good .and his word is true❤

When I went up there in June, I wore a long sleeved linen shirt & long pants. All the women in my tour group with short sleeved t-shirts were given something to cover up with. When you stood above that gate that sent chills because of the significance of where you were. Just incredible.

I believe the temple would have been in the City of David because David had a passion to want the temple to be near and close by to him. He desired the temple so much that I do not think he would have wanted the temple to be far from his son Solomon. Thanks again guys for your awesome videos❤

We really enjoy your videos and learn from them. Your recent video about your visit to the Temple Mount. You mentioned that you were planning a video about the Temple being in the city of David. I have read quite a bit about the Temple being there. I would very much like to see your research on it being there.
