I have a full size Tama set, but I'm gonna get me one of these to lug around with me whenever I have to go play in compact settings. Sounds really good!

Back in the days when concert toms were the norm it was common to mic them from underneath and place the mic up inside the drum. It would be interesting to know how these sound when mic’d the same way. It might add a little fullness to the sound.

What I appreciate is that one of those MD421s costs a lot more than the drums. (I understand using an elite mic to get an accurate representation of the drums, but it's still funny).

how much did it cost for your ears? from conception, baby thru education to now. All up, including food and shelter, entertainment and all incidentals. Add the costs to start up the internet, wire the earth and generate all that electricity for the server farms. Chuck in the wars over commodities and the human cost to refugees for protecting your countries trade routes. it's still funny?

The badges are the same as used on the other club jam kits, the others kits need air holes.

wow i'm impressed. how does it hold up without mics, in a practicing room with a small funk band?

I'd love a version without Snare and a bigger FT. This is also great to convert into an e-kit!

I’d much rather have those K hi hats and that K crash. As for the kit, the Sonor Jungle kit and Remo’s traveler kit

Is this set good enough for funk and rock and would it be heard if not miked?

Questions: Can the tom be tilted? I like my toms at almost a 45 degree angle facing me. Also, will that bass drum handle a double bass pedal?

The tom has a ball adjust fast clamp, you can see it in the video, any bass drum can fit a double or single pedal.

If I can get a good recorded sound from it this would be perfect for me.

With mikes, eg, compression, gates, etc. A cardboard box could sound great. I would want to hear it with room mikes only.

I have a Tama Superstar Hyperdrive as my home/practice kit, and unsurprisingly this little pancake kit sounds a bit light and flimsy compared with it. But for the size of it, it sounds pretty beefy. The mics might have a bit to do with it, and I wasn't using headphones, so maybe my impressions are not as good as the kit itself?

Hi Mark, the Pancake kit solves the issue of portability of a drum set but with this there are some trade offs in terms of hardware weight and size. We wouldn't recommend touring this kit in a rock band, but it makes a great practice or function band drum set. Have you checked out the Tama club jam? I think this would be more suited to you.

It comes with a rack tom clamp and the legs for the floor tom and bass drum. No pedals or other hardware is included.

He looks like a giant in front of that kit. Sounds good though

really disappointed that the video isn't called "Tama Club Jam Pancake: Does it pack a punch or is it a bit crepe? "

You may be right, but I play with a lot of different bands and having one on these to take to rehearse at people's houses where there is no kit would be great.
