I wanted one so bad in about 1995 and finally bought one when I was about 22 years old. I too really loved the bracelet and still do!👍🏼 It’s one of my favorite bracelets ever on a watch. It was the first watch I bought that I spent a significant amount of money on. I still own it and keep it in working order. I change the battery whenever it goes. I sized it for my wife to use but when she stopped wearing it I had it resized to fit me again. There were many years when I stopped wearing it but in the last couple years I have started wearing it again. It’s my new-old beater watch that I wear when I don’t want to worry about scratching my other watches. Tag Heuer SEL with the blue dual 😁 It’s not worth much anymore but it’s definitely still one of my favorites!

I bought my Tag Heuer S/EL chronograph(stainless steel/gold) back in 1994 still wear it everyday. The links in the bracelet are famous for coming loose over the years. They are expensive to replace wether you buy separate links or the whole bracelet but I found the best fix! Over the years the holes in the link where the pin inserts become over worn and the pin falls out. I used a product called J-B weld SteelStik Epoxy Putty and it works brilliantly. It’s a two part epoxy putty that you kneed together to activate, you only need a little just enough to fit into the worn out holes of your bracelet links then push the pin back into the hole. It’s sets in 5 min. and cures in 1 hour! Works on Aluminum, Brass & Bronze, Copper, Iron & Stainless Steel. 🇨🇦

I own one with a black dial without "professional" logo above "200 meters". It looks so unique and I know there are people who don't like S/EL but to my eyes it's a stunner!

Do you know if there are any informational guides about the front dial face and how they marked them throughout the years? I recently received one from my uncle's passing, and the back serial numbers are worn away. I helped him a few years prior to track it down but I have forgotten the details. It was his daily watch, but I believe he might have found it through his hobby of metal detecting. So no serial that makes sense. Sure took a beating in the ocean. 300m 1000ft Quarts Water Resistant On the face. I'm not sure if this is a professional, or an s/eL or a precursor to the Aqua. The bracelet my have been two tones. It seems to look slightly different on every other link. Any info would help me. Most of the time Google is tries to sell me one of them instead of giving me a database or a comprehensive list of changes they did throughout that time. Thanks.

Thanks for taking the time to review these watches. I recently got a WT1113 for free in terrible condition. I did a full restoration, only to find someone changed the date at midnight at some point. The date, even after I rebuilt the date changer, stuck half way when it rolled. I didn't want to just throw an unmarked ETA quartz in it. Had a Cal 2.99 in it, but got a steal of a deal on a Cal 2.09(same movement, but a little older). Installed it and runs incredibly well now. I accidentally purchased a 16mm link, and the bracelet was 18mm. Oddly, it fit and worked well, but the width kills my OCD. The replacement link should arrive today and it'll be back to like-new condition. The WT1113 is larger than the one you reviewed, but my wrist likes anything 36-44mm. Mine is the blue lacquer dial with polished 12/6/9 o'clock and fine indices, date at 3, sapphire crystal, subdued green/red logo, and the same "professional" "200 meters" "swiss made" on the dial. I replaced the seals and and polished the bracelet to match the bezel I polished. Mine has the same elegant link shapes too, but in 18mm. Those links cost a fortune. Thankfully I needed just one. As it was an improperly functioning and filthy gift, I decided dropping a bit over $100 into the Tag Cal marked movement replacement and one link was worth it totally. The polished 18mm link is $85(heck no...not for ONE). I bought the brushed 18mm link for 1/3rd of that! And I restore stuff for a living and polishing the new link should be a breeze. After wearing this a few days, I can see why they still sell for $400-$800 on ebay! Same price my 2000 series limited edition all silver(logo included) 25J ETA Automatic sells for. I love having three incredibly different Tah variations now. The 2000 Professional Limited 38mm waffle dial automatic diver(pre-AquaRacer), the Se/l large version all steel and blue dial quartz (sometimes a nice "set it and forget it" is nice, thought I am wearing it a lot), and finally I have a Calibre 5 2018 blue dial AquaRacer. And for half the cost of an Onega Seamaster, it was a no-brainer. Cost $2,600, and I'm paying on it, but wear it around the house mostly (for fear of scratching the gorgeous timepiece). The Se/l quartz and 2000 series automatic already have signs of daily wear( not anything noticeable though) make incredible daily wearers. The Se/l quickly getting more workday wear time than the automatic 2000 series.

@@hillbillyluxury2691 Not true it’s actually very easy to size these watches. You do not need a specific tool. I’m actually able to size than myself. But being a watchmaker for about 10 years definitely helps.

I just bought the exact watch with a blue dial. New old stock, found on Chrono24 for a great price and came with box and papers. I always wanted one for the same reasons as you and even had a fake one in 1995 when I was 16! I finally bought a new one almost 30 years, goes against everything I like in watches, too small and quartz but who cares? I love it! Looks funny next to my Rolex Deep Sea🤣 (sorry for name dropping)

Agree that the TH S/el is a truly iconic design, very strange that they chose to stop making it. Some say that the bracelet is too 90s, absurd of course. Do people say the Cartier Santos is too 1920s? These are available today and in the context of the absurd prices on some watches today these are a very good value for a truly distinctive design that nobody else has.
