Pretty much yeah a non locking folder under three inches is perfectly legal and most of the time you don’t need a reason but if you go to a problematic area such as London ect they can be strict as hell I have heard about certain areas being no knife zones due to crime but carrying knives in cities is definitely not liked I grew up in the countryside and with the jobs I’ve done a knife is a very normal thing it’s basically boils down to don’t be a knob and using common sense if you think you should not have ur knife on u lol ur probs right 😂 But I can see a liking for this idea without the blade be handy thing for people who don’t like carrying a blade on them I’d probably carry one in cities or keep it at my desk The uks laws aren’t actually that bad 😂 people just seem to cry about it needing a reason for a lock is a bit daft but i don’t really see many problems from it i do wish I could carry a small fixed blade everywhere but oh well

I carry a fixed blade with me everywhere I go. I also carry an army 7 model occasionally in place of my multi tool. I'm thinking bladeless is a good idea.

I found some of these key rings on Amazon. One will need plenty of patience, skill, time, and maybe a band-aid. The rings are solid. I used a small knife blade and a staple extractor. The upgrade is far more secure.

I've owned one of these knives for a few years now. I have a decent amount of knives ranging from $10 to $200, and more often than not this knife finds its way into my pocket. I love my more expensive knives, but I tend to lose knives all the time, so I don't carry them often. This one is just so cheap and cheerful. I love the assisted open and how easy it is to sharpen (flipside, it gets dull pretty quick too). I'm a huge fan of compact knives, so the size is just perfect for me. I have yet to break it or lose any screws, and with the price the way it is, I don't mind if I lose it or it breaks, I'll just get another. The only other knife that comes close as far as carry time is my CRKT Drifter. It's $15 more, but still good enough to carry and cheap enough that it's not a huge loss if it's lost or damaged.

For my taste you saved the best to last with the gold Alox Pioneer 😍. My battered Pioneer is the edc tool I pickup when I’m not carrying anything else.. I love the robust minimalism and the tools are the ones I use the most. The cap lifter and the tin opener are so useful as prying tools, the tin opener functions asa quick cross head and the main blade and spring strength are superior and more workmanlike than the Celidor models while still being pocketable and discreet. Plus it has the best awl of any multi tool I use. It makes a useful bradawl when needed. Had it for thirty years, gave it away at one point and got another as I missed it.

Something for people to keep in mind for those interested Victorinox had a custom run of these with plus scales for the company Garant with plus scales they still have some stock available. I don’t want to get my comment deleted by posting a link but if you google Garant 84 6000 that is the model number and HoffmenngroupUSA sells them still.

Had one of these from new - hadn't occurred to me how long I'd actually had it! Damn, time goes quick..... Mine is non-serrated. Like yourself, I hate sharpening part serrated blades. Not so bad on a large fixed blade - still sucks to sharpen, but at least you have enough plain edge remaining for normal. Just my opinion of course, but your average 50:50 or so combo edge isn't enough of either edge type to be useful. When it comes to folders, I'd rather just have a plain edge for easy sharpening, or if I know I need to cut something really tough and fibrous, then I'd take a fully serrated blade. As for the Storm (and a lot of Ken Onion's designs from this period), I really like it, but I do wish it were either Speedsafe, or at least had a slightly larger flipper. 😀

Classic. I didn't carry mine much because of how high it rode in the pocket and I hate serrations, but I still have it. That era of Kershaw's Euro AEB-L was dynamite. My large Cyclone is still one of my most carried knives. Great era from both Kershaw and Mr Onion.

Great video! I'm new into knives and steels, I'm in process on picking up sharpening stones, and maybe new knife. In my region i dont have lot of options, especially for something budget and good, or at least decent. But i found Norton stones, and because of your video and what people talked, i think i will buy their stone. I'm impressed how stone in your hands sharpened this AR-RPM9 steel, i heard people were good option about it hardness and performance. If it is not hard to tell, what steels it can sharpen? I have some worries about sharpening steels from more hard categories. P.S. im sorry for my bad English

I have found it to sharpen many different steals. From S 45 VN to almost S 90 V. It sharpens 440 steel very easily. It’s a great sharpening stone to have. If you were to get a budget knife, I would probably have to recommend getting a Victorinox.very usable and easily sharpened

If the f201 was just a bit smaller it would be my fav watch. I like my watches with a lug to lug under 40mm and thickness under 10mm. My personal favs are the w202 and f105. W202 for the countdown timer and water resistance, f105 for the simplicity and classic small design inspired by the old 80s casios.

I love my electrician but an Electrician X would be cool and I've said more than once in conversations on reddit that an Electrician X with a metal file would be my last Victorinox. The Farmer X is a great alternative for when I'm out in the yard, but in the shop or at work I'd take your exact knofe here. I would end up missing the can opener though and is why I went back to my Pioneer. I use the can opener and the little driver on the end too. That awl is my favorite one across every multitool I've ever tried too. I think a Plumber would be a fitting name for this model as well.

Just pulled out my roper stockman i think it was called a sand viper, the scales look awful discolored yellow, but over all very solid knife and i sharpened it with Naniwa pro's every blade is screaming sharp... haven't carried it once, but I'll take it to work tomorrow, it's sad that i can get a 18$ chinese made stockman thats functionally better than 60$ American made stockman.. well it'll make a good work knife since i won't be too bummed if i happen to loose it..
