Liv and Stabler do NOT belong together. She and Raf belong together. He would actually be good for her. And Stabler didn't even speak to her for ten of the twenty-three years she's "known" him; he's been out of her life almost as long as he was in it!

She's been able to say I miss you too...but she always has commitment issues because Stabler,,, Now he is back in her life when he is not UC and Barba is there waiting for her... Hope season 24 will be a cop show and will bring some closure. Liv and Rafa have to reconnect,,,

SVU was always better with Barba in it.

Season 23 has literally been character assassination for liv and I'm mad like there was a whole HALF episode of her somewhat forgiving a literal predator but she can't even talk to barba let alone give him the respect and benefit of even listen to him like damn 😭

I could’ve dealt with liv having unresolved, conflicting feelings about her predator ex bf as its common for victims of abuse to feel this. HOWEVER theres a difference between having these feelings and absolving him of all the shit he’s done. Liv should know better as a SVU captain how abuser never really change, yet she forgives him and spends so much time with him. Tbh I’ve noticed this weird push to absolve predators through restorative justice in the past few seasons and I fucking hate it. It goes against everything the earlier seasons and the lack of resolution and justice in these cases for the last few seasons don’t sit right with me

I feel like she's outgrown Stabler. They would have been a good fit 12 years ago but she grew tremendously in his absence (which I guess isn't really indicative of a good fit) and now I think she needs a mature man like Barba. But she should definitely go get a hotel with Elliot first just so she can get him out of her system.

Something happened to me when Barba left the series the first time. But y'all should've heard the scream that left my mouth when he spouted that line about "unconditional love" - I don't know why I didn't see that coming...

they have to fix it up next season - Barba is a more reliable love than stabler - but writers and actors want EO to be endgame - now they don't match anymore (my opinion only ) - the chemistry between Barba and Benson is palpable but writers put Barba with the ennemy , maybe just for Benson and Barba to happen and make things more complicated - but this show is Law and Order ,,, so maybe it means something that's going to happen season 24 ep 21,,,

Ok, here’s a good place to say what I yelled at the TV when Barba ask why she could get angry at him and not Stabler: “Because you trust him more! You know you can get mad at Barba and he’ll still be there! Because he’s not a volatile loose cannon my way or the highway bruiser! Ok, having said that: judging from the way they talk about each other/ the situation, Mariska and Raúl have a strong siblingish sort of relationship. ( They are both happy involved in long turn relationships, not that that matters.) They, as people, might just not be comfortable “going there”. Even still, and I mean this from the bottom of my heart, having Liv having Barba as a brother from another mother would be ten times more emotionally fulfilling than her being stuck riding Stabler’s perpetual mood swing.

And she is still obsessed by her old partner - tho she perfectly knows that they won't never be together as a couple. Ex, he gave her his word that he would behave and he punched a suspect in the interrogation room . He told her she would be a good mother but never asked her about this - - he said "Good for her" to Fin - As if he doesn't believe she can be a mother - his wIfe was a mother, Olivia is only his partner.

But she was constantly backing him up to Cragen ( God! I miss him!) every time Stabler did something that would totally give the defense grounds for an immediate dismissal. It’s like the pair of them cared more about getting their licks in than in actually convicting people. And basically $&@; you, Dick Wolf, for setting that kind of example for a couple generations of future law enforcement officers.

I absolutely loved this episode everyone calling her out about her feelings for stabler and then Barba admitting without admitting he loves her (I've always wanted Benson and stabler together but I love her and barba and now I'm so torn) then Rollins saying I love u! that's so big for her she normally runs away from feelings lol it's going to be a long summer I can't wait till it's back I truly want Barba to come back! But I really hope that her "I miss you too" will be developped next season. Olivia must think again about what Angela said, she wanted to hurt Captain Benson but she was true. Olivia is daydreaming about her old partner who left her during ten years. She wants to be faithfull to a past story. And maybe writers want to break our hearts.

Stabler is unstable. We don't need to add more drama to Liv's life. They better bring Barba & Liv together because that episode freakin' broke me all over again. What is this the heartbreak hotel??!!

This! This is what I’ve been saying bc like I’ve been there and I’ve tried every which way to be with the “nice guy” bc they are amazing ppl, but some ppl just leave a mark and these other amazing men don’t deserve being treated like this in the end bc u know and they know they’re never gonna have all of u and that’s hard on u as a person too bc u don’t want to do them like that either. 10 hrs, 10 days, 10 years and Elliot is still IT for Olivia. He’s a flawed character, but his dark and twisty (to quote another fandom) just gets her dark and twisty. They seem to get it.

she realized and spoke out in extremis. Stabler walked away and never kept in touch with her. Barba kept in touch and wanted to meet her again. She realizes that some one who is able to speak out loud about his feelings can be a better person for her. But as usual in a drama, it may be too late. Any way, every single affair she had was a mess. Stabler was in her mind if not in her life any more. But I have to be honest, I don't want a love triangle on a cop show such as SVU. I don't know why.

She said something, she's in progress.

He's right you know. Stabler has been back for over two years and he isn't even trying to work at re-establishing his friendship with Olivia. He didn't even have her at his Medal /Award Ceremony. Seems like she does everything for him and he only calls when he needs something. He claims he always loved her, but words mean nothing. Rafa was always there for her, but she's waiting for a guy who is still (emotionally) unavailable to her. Rafael is a good one. Grab on and don't let go. They don't come around very often. Screw Stabler.

It's certainly possible based on how he's behaved since Kathy was killed, and maybe from the time he left because of *how* he left, without so much as a word to Olivia. Basically Stabler was transferred to the svu because he has to cool down and be more open-minded. The guy wanted to clean the streets of all kind of perv...gay people were perv to his mind. And they currently don't wear any weapon - so no need to use violence. - can't understand either EO being together. She's in awe with him since minute one - not only because the man has a family of4 children+a wife. Is he her ideal man? Why does she always cover him ? - Her and Barba make sense. And basically, Benson spent a great part of her life talking with them. -+ Some thing weird : she is not interested in Barba, why, why does she come to his office ?. Barba is not Cabot - Does she need him as a friend ?, why? Does he owe her anything ? They are supposed to be friend for life since she wanted to be squabbling with him ,,,, now it's over. Seems they are ennemies for life. Benson should be more open-minded : she loves/ is in awe with Stabler and every body must be in awe with him as well.. I feel sad because Barba left the show but I am kind of happy because he had the nerve to see Stabler for what he is, another human being with big muscles.

I am in the minority. I never wanted Liv an Elliott together. I liked the fact that there was a man/woman team on television that didn't turn into a romantic relationship. Plus, the fact that he was married and faithful always made me respect his character even more (and Liv's for not going there). So, I'm team Barbson.

In the beginning I want El and Liv together, it made sense. And then Rafa came and now the person I think she should be with is Rafa. Elliot has done so much to hurt her and the only thing Rafa did was take a case to protect her, may I also add that he WOULD NOT have taken it if he didn’t believe his client was set up.

Things were headed that way when his marriage was at its worse he confessed then to her that he loved when that guy the one eho killed a family and kidnapped the youngest had cut her throat El let him get away with the kids when Fin corner him dude killed the little boy ..... the panic in his voice when she was on the ground bleeding him screaming and begging god please no not her he told her his love for her caused him to pause cause he couldn't lose her. Which allowed dude to do what he did and basically told her how love for her got in the way and ut always will cause he will always choose her when it comes down to ethier save her or a victim. And wasnt sutr how he could deal with it hr wabted to talk and wirk it out but she then went asked for a transfer so she didnt have to talk that when he got Danny as a partner and they had a fling eventually when he was his most weaken if that had happened with love it would of killed everything in their relationship I am so glad this happening now cause he was always in love with her but loved and faithful to Kathy to.... Honestly, based on what Mariska said in an interview about Barba and Liv's relationship, it doesn’t sound like it’s a love triangle. She said they play them as siblings (granted, it didn’t give those vibes and think Barba loves her), and that it’s always been Elliot. Fortunately for me, I’d be happy if she got with either man. So yay for those of us who are on the fence! lol Either way, I need more Barba in my life!

Even if Barba was only talking about platonic love , he’s still a better pic than Stabler. I mean, rewatch some of the old episodes and take a shot every time he expects Liv to defend him for violating someone’s civil rights. You’ll be on the floor in no time.

While there was tension between Stabler and Benson, I never wanted them together as a couple. That would’ve just messed the whole thing up. I’ve always thought Barba and Benson were a good fit. Wasn’t a fan of Rollins and Carisi, but they seem to be working out better than anyone. We’ll see when fall comes…

Stabler was a hothead in the beginning; he’d snap at Liv for helping Simon but, when Kathleen got into trouble for trespassing, Stablers trying to clean up her mess but, he looked like a hypocrite. Liv had a better relationship with Barba before he left; he did need to get away to do some deep thinking. Everyone knows Barba loves Olivia; if she would remove her Stabler blinders, her life would be less chaotic and, she’d have a wonderful man who gives 100% of himself.

rafa has been the best character, i never believed it with liv but now it's all i need, he screw it up but please liv that's what you deserve!!!

I know that I loved liv and elliot, but I am also aware of how truly incompatible they are and honestly the tension between them has stretched for such a long time that they can't be happy together, but barba...they fit together way better. Honestly I think liv will never choose either of them. Barba will never be stabler and stabler will always be stabler. Liv and noah have been and will be fine without them.

Honestly, Stabler and Liv have more history and he has waited 23 years to finally tell Liv how he feels. Rafael just up and left Liv right there on the steps of the court house then returned to defend Wheatley after Liv all but begged him not and he did anyway.

I feel like Liv would have to be Elliot’s mother bc he doesn’t know how to control his emotions. And that would add more stress to Liv’s life. If Elliot could fix those issues or work on them then it would be better.

so it took the writers 5 or 6 years to build a good character who has a strong bond with Benson so they can ruin this character in 10 sec' ? Why not 😐? And ruin Olivia's character as well because now she is only an angry bitter woman . What in season 24 ?

I had a good laugh at this. I did make an edit I'm going to release soon that took a different look at stabler and benson being together. It showed all the bad parts of their so called friendship, I don't really have a side but I feel that there are somethings that have happened that wouldn't make them good together.
