Dr. Wong and Cabot are the extended family that come to visit every once in awhile and Melinda's their long distance cousin... who only visits every few months or so

I agree, Cragen is especially a great father figure for Elliot and Olivia, Olivia's father left her before she was even born, and Elliot's father was abusive

One thing that I feel is missing on the current seasons: In the earlier seasons, Cragen stayed in the team’s asses when he felt they needed it. And especially when they made rookie mistakes, we saw him take them to school and sometimes to task. It not only brought humor but brought him out of his office or brought the team into his office. The squad today seems to know everything, which should not always be the case.

When did anyone call Kat out without it immediately being painted as her being the victim of sexism, being told to learn her place etc.? And conversely, how often was she tiptoed around and treated with kid gloves when she should’ve been raked over the coals for something she said or did that was, in fact, out of line? For example, remember the episode “what can happen in the dark“ with a script was flipped and it was a woman abusing a man? She out right scoffed at and mocked him, but was perfectly happy to immediately take her side when she alleged he was the abuser to throw them off the scent. Cragen or even a younger, more outspoken Olivia would’ve taken Kat to task for that.

I never really cared for her character to begin with, but that episode made me outright hate her. Kudos to Jamie Gray Hyder for that, though, and I hope and pray she doesn’t have the same mindset as her character.

I've been watching this show for 20 years and I never even realized how dad this dude was. And FOR THE TENTH TIME ELLIOT, WHY AREN'T YOU GETTING THAT PSYCH EVAL?!

I love that we got to see Cragen again for the show’s 500th episode and the way that he told Olivia how proud he was to see her shine and move up in her career. ❤️🥺

One of my personal fave craven quotes is when the get a suspect to confess by-ahem-“fabricating the truth” and Cragen turns to Novak and says “god I love the dumb ones”

Cragen might be my very favorite for this reason. He sees the need for a father figure in his staff's life and he steps up to fill it...tough love, kindness, discipline, all of it. Great video summary of his character.

I love Liv and Elliot, I really do. But I can TOTALY feel Cragen’s frustration whenever they avoid psych evils or don’t listen to him. Yes they catch the bag guys but they also get into serious trouble

I love it when Mariska does her "smug AF" face at 0:14. She looks so beautiful and gorgeous.

I love this! I keep saying that Liv is now pretty much their mommy, raising all of these feral children. Finn is the older and more mature child that tries to help out but can still be naughty sometimes.

I miss the days when the golden kids were also the trouble some two for an exhausted dad tired of putting up with their crap. Definitely want to see more moments with Ayanna as 3.0 Cragen.
