Initially I was shocked that Suzuki sent you so many pieces. Then I saw and heard the beautiful arrangements you created with them. Now I realise that you have don’t more to promote these quirky, fringe, but beautiful sounding instruments than any advertising campaign. Ps. It was over too soon please do a part 2, 3….😊

@sydmccreath4554 Yeah... the only reason I continued watching was because I was curious whether he would talk about what the pickup is. I was actually wondering if they'd picked up a license to use James Antaki's patented optical free-reed pickup, but I'm guessing not as there's nothing on the internet about the circuitry they're using, so I'm guessing it's just internal mics...

You make me laugh a lot usually, Claudio. But today you made me laugh... and cry. This was reallly an epic Dr Mix episode. But I think that, since Suzuki were so super-generous, you ought to make us another video in which you either invite all your mates round to play them as a melodion orchestra. Or you play them all and layer them up. That would be fun.

I came back to view this video again because it is so well done. I am blown away by your talent and wonderful presentations style. And I wanted to add that the sound of these types of instruments was very popular in TV and Films in the mid-to-late 1960's. The most noteworthy music score to use this type of sound was "Breakfast at Tiffany's" with the "Moon River" song. Harmonicas were a thing because of the Westerns. I don't think there was a western anywhere on TV that did NOT use a harmonica type sound. It also was used in many of the original Twilight Zone episodes... again, mostly those with a "western" theme. Thanks again for such a fine video!

Bellissimo omaggio al Maestro Fiorenzo Carpi! Quando poi hai suonato Metheny ho pensato che sarebbe fantastico se facessi una cover di It’s For You in omaggio anche al grande Lyle Mays ❤

Wow. 'Antonia' was stunningly beautiful!. Pls. do a Pt. 2 and Pt. 3, maybe more Metheny/Mays compositions: 'It's for you', (from the 'Wichita Falls' album), or 'James' (from the 'Offramp') album. I hadn't subscribed before, but I do now. Thank you for a beautiful performance.

Pinocchio!

Truly fantastic! This is just a level of expression that no virtual instrument or emulation will ever achieve - with no breath controller, no Roli, no nothing. These harmonicas/Melodions are truly mesmerizing and they sound unbelievable! My favourite is actually the soprano - how wonderful is that! I didn't even know these beautiful instruments existed! And the arrangements/recordings are so beautiful - actually maybe more appealing than the original tracks. THANKS for doing this video!!

This is probably my new favorite video of yours!!! I'm always amused by the playing of the Melodica type instruments and you, you just like made my night!!! They were all so beautiful, especially the Andes edition!!! I see why they called it as such, since it definitely mimics the sound of the famous Andean Pan Flutes of South American. And as having a father born in such territory, Andean Flutes make my heart happy. Wow, that last piece you played, it put me in such a melancholic yet happy mood. I could listen to you play that piece for hours! Funny, the first piece. Pinocchio, wow, so pretty too. I mentioned it's funny only because I have a cat, yes, the one as my icon, and his name is Pinocchio...Thank you for sharing your passion for music, artistry, production and musicianship. You are one amazing man, Claudio!!! Ciao!

both of these arrangements are damn beautiful -- the output jacks give a whole new flavor to melodions! I had no idea they made them like that

How timely and coincidental! I have been researching melodicas only this last week and then Doctor Mix just presents me with this very cool vid.. Thank you!
