Great. Powerful message great soundtrack and a beautiful and rugged landscape. Thanks for your time and effort in making this video.👍
Freedom certianly has it's price, but what will it cost for a life in servitude to a system full of corruption ? Very well done short. Thank you.

I have been waiting for this release, and what a great film it is, IMHO! I find this to be a great metaphor for the times we currently live in. I have really enjoyed it and I look forward to watching it again! Thank you all for the great production!

I'm sure l recognized the cabin from a video l watched a while ago. Is it the one built in a backyard during Covid restrictions, in anticipation for when you were allowed to act/film again?
@REKFilmsMontana
2 жыл бұрын
Yes and no, It is the one built in my back yard, but it had nothing to do with Covid or not being allowed to film. It was built in my back yard so I had easy access and could take my time. I didn't have the money to complete it right away once I ran out of recycled materials. So having it in my back yard meant I didn't have to drive back and forth to Wyoming to work on it in my spare time. In Montana they really couldn't stop me from filming. The only reason we delayed in 2020 is because folks were uneasy and unsure. If everyone involved was willing to go forward in 2020 to film, the state could not have stopped us. And the full story is that this cabin was going to be used in a different film that had already got delayed in from 2019 because of schedules, then was planning on in 2020, but after the delays 2020 caused I decided that after 2 years of struggling with the conflicting schedules of that film, not to move forward with that one and developed A Rider's Legacy in such a way as I could still utilize the cabin and not loose out on all that work of building it. So I wrote this film in 2020 and filmed in 2021. If you can check out the newest BTS Documentary on the channel. You will learn much more.

@@REKFilmsMontana Montana makes the perfect location for filming, beautiful state! And far less tyrannical government than some states have. That's another reason why I moved out of NYC -- way too much micro-managing people's lives, and the state government is way too anti-2A. I currently live in Minnesota, so it's better than NY, but not as free as I would like.

Some audiences need things spoon feed for sure.
Well, that sure did not pull any punches... creepy and weird and still has that feel of ...something better over the horizon. if we don't give up and fall into the darkness. Yet it takes dark men to bring back the light. So, you asked for crit... -- The dialog delivery is a bit stiff. Mostly just not enough experience in speaking naturally to the camera (not an easy skill). Conversely, the acting was good, and convincing. -- Watch out for details like after a couple days in the backbeyond, our lost boy shouldn't look quite so clean-shaven. Tho one might forgive this because the film is somewhat allegorical, and he represents the too-slick city devils, evil in a pretty package. -- Camera and sound work are very good. Everything is crystal clear. -- This feels like an ongoing storyline from the previous works, building into something bigger. I appreciate this. -- Lots of excellent small details, like the license plates on the door, and numbering the city enclaves. -- No cheap resolution, no pulled punches. Hard lives make hard choices. It went where it needed to go. -- And the end result was riveting. Well done. The one thing I really don't buy is that After Things Fall Apart, there'd be surviving Chevy trucks. Everyone doing abandoned-truck revivals knows they'd all be Fords. ;)

Why bother....
Gave you a big thumb up for great cinematography....interesting concept....pretty decent acting...and overall cool short film. I would say maybe s bit of quicker editing might’ve sped things up a bit and not just had audience listening to nothing much of the time....but I see what you were going for. Also was a bit confusing w the timeline....parts seemed like flashbacks but there was no drastic transitions or specific cues to let me know if we were back to current time or what. Overall thought it was neat and coming from a perspective of seeing REK films evolve over the past 15 years personally.....they’ve come a LONGGGG way and big improvements. Cheers friend

THERES only going to maybe about THREE HUNDRED OF US WHEN ITS OVER...in all of north america, maybe less...
Good question..no Chevron there,!..lol
Pops had the better life !
A story of good and evil, or rather a choice of one or the other. Or maybe have a go at both.

Actually it's a fictionalized representation of the extreme divides in man that seems to be upon us. We are not really obsessed with Post apocalyptic ideas in film, but from a small budget we can accomplish them for low cost and built in desolate environments such as this. But from a story stand point it's simply a carrier for the idea that we need to find a way to bridge those great divides and do better once again.

So... As an American, I think this is nothing new. People have been expecting imminent Apocalypse for hundreds of years, long before North America became the United States. People thought 1348 was the End of the World. My grandparents thought their era was going to be apocalyptic. . . my parents thought their era was going to be apocalyptic. . . and I've always expected my era to be apocalyptic. When I was a little girl, and adults asked: _"What are you going to be when you grow up?"_ I always said: _"Dust, somewhere in the upper atmosphere. But my soul will be in Heaven."_
Every great nation has failed it's mankind fallen nature always will be until the end
"when the 'vocal minority' became the dictators"...
A great film...? Naaaaa....! Too..., predictable..., the (almost) new tires in front of the shack gave it away... . So... he's pissin' in the fuel tank to keep that guzzler runnin'...?
He looks extremely well fed. Nothing like after the crush of the world starving looking for food s***. Not trying to download your video blah blah blah blah but come on. Post-apocalyptic s*** we are starving to death. This dude is well well fed!!
That narration! What did he have stuck in his throat. The acting was as wooden as the crosses.
Voice distracting, I couldn’t finish watching.
