Watch the historical moment, when the unconditional surrender of the German forces in Denmark, the Netherlands and northwest Germany including all islands is signed on May 4 1945 at Lüneburg Heath. The surrender is signed by British Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery and several German officials including Commander-in-Chief of the German navy Admiral Hans-Georg von Friedeburg.

This clip is a part of the film “U.S. TURNS TO JAPAN AFTER GERMAN DEFEAT [ETC.]” from the US National Archives. The National Archives notes the creator as “Office for Emergency Management. Office of War Information. Overseas Operations Branch. New York Office. News and Features Bureau. 12/17/1942-9/15/1945 (Most Recent)”.
They also state: “From: Series: Motion Picture Films from "United News" Newsreels, 1942 - 1945” and “Record Group 208: Records of the Office of War Information, 1926 - 1951”
