14:26 A critical point is made here . In context , by the time of the Yalta Conference , there were 6.8 million solders of the Soviet Army already in Eastern Europe , most of Poland and 80 km from Berlin . So Stalin was holding most of the cards . .

@@landsea7332 Yes, but he would never be in that position if not for unconditional and unpaid lend-lease aid. This was the utter stupidity of the FDR regime that American's had never had to scrutinize their actions for. The untold long-term consequences of REALLY supporting one evil dictator over another, has to be scrutinized, instead of the hypocritical standard WWII-narrative. One of the two worst tyrants of modern history, was deliberately allowed to get unconditional massive aid, treated as an "ally", even if he jointly started the war and ended up with at least double the amount of dead people in his own population, and getting control over half of Europe, including Poland, that was the initial cause of the war in Europe. Some went to massive certain death infantry assaults, some went to the Gulags to basically work and starve themselves to death, some ethnic groups were relocated en masse and left to die, but many were simply shot on the spot by the NKVD, individually or in group due to ethnicity So how can you defend that US policy? To this day we are seeing Russian troops steamrolling into Ukraine, waving the Soviet flag and glorifying Stalin. Not mentioning the untold tens of millions murdered for the communist cause that followed that or perceived social class. We cannot rewrite history, but we can be honest about it, and on this issue, Americans will defend their cause to the last man, with a few notable exceptions.

Winston Churchill won the war and lost the British Empire. Roosevelt sat in the helmet for 2 years and only invaded Europe when he realized that the Red Army was about to invade and defeat Germany alone. Stalin bled and won the war in Europe, but he knew it would be foolish to try to confront the US and England militarily (something that was already being considered by Winston Churchill). Yalta consolidates the bipolar world in a context in which England had not yet realized that it would not have a dominant role in the post-war period.

The United States entered the war for two reasons, first because of Japan's treacherous attack on Pearl Harbor, and second because Germany declared war on it. These are two powerful reasons that have nothing to do with the Soviet Union, in fact when the United States entered the war in 1941, the Soviet Union was taking a tremendous beating from the Nazis... The Nazis were defeating the Soviet Union .

I have read quite a bit about FDR, including books on the final years of his life, when he was in poor health. I’m not aware of any claims that FDR had cancer, what proof can you provide that proves FDR had cancer? What we do know, was that he was in severe heart failure for the last 18 months of his life. His heart eventually gave out, which is what led to his death via cerebral hemorrhage.

Roosevelt was in severe heart failure, and circulatory collapse , ultimately resulting in a diagnosed massive cerebral hemorrhage on the afternoon of April 12, 1945, at his retreat in Warm Springs, GA. Cancer was never shown to be a part of the picture.

Realmente quien ganó la SGM fueron los rusos, perdieron mas de 20 millones de personas peleando contra mas de 200 divisiones alemanas, mientras que del otro lado en el lado occidente estados unidos, El Reino Unido, la resistencia francesa, los canadienses y demás aliados tan solo se enfrentaron a 10 divisiones alemanas. Otro dato es que es verdad que Stalin tenía su red de espionaje por todos lados y sabia que previo a la Reunión de Yalta, tanto Roosevelt como Churchill, estaban ya negociando la rendición de Alemania con los que se habían rendido del lado occidental y a la vez planeando un ataque conjunta contra la URSS, pero fueron descubierto y entonces unos meses después se reunieron en Yalta a negociar. En el minuto 32:12 mencionan que es culpa de los rusos por no derrotar a los alemanes en territorio polaco, cuando la realidad es que venían avanzando de poco en poco. Seguramente el video es de fuente pro-occidental, dejando mal a los Rusos y ellos como los ganadores de la SGM. En junio de 1945 ya con 1 mes de que Alemania se rindiera, las tropas británicas, gringas y unos pocos aliados estaban preparándose para una invasión a Stalingrado, pero Stalin ya estaba enterado, y su mariscal Zhúkov (invicto en toda su vida en batallas de guerras) sería el encargado de repeler a las nuevas fuerzas invasoras, pero al ser descubiertos los occidentales que ya estaban instalados en el rio Elba, abortaron la misión y dijeron que solo fue un mal entendido. Otro dato, es que estados unidos al lanzar sus bombas atómicas en Japón entre sus principales propósitos fue para amenazar a la URSS de su poderío y se plantearon varias misiones con diferentes nombres, entre los cuales los descubiertos eran "Trojan", luego tuvo varias modificaciones y que consistiría en destruir casi todo el territorio de la URSS en nombre de la democracia, pero fueron disuadidos al enterarse que la URSS desarrolló sus propias armas nucleares. Por último, Francia no tenía nada que hacer en las negociaciones, fueron derrotados casi al inicio de la guerra y prácticamente no tuvo relevancia en el conflicto, pero sería elevado al podio ganador por el simple hecho de poder hacerle contrapeso a la URSS de un 3 contra 1 en territorio alemán y posteriormente en Naciones Unidas. Como podemos darnos cuenta, hasta nuestros días, en todas las películas de Hollywood los gringos son los ganadores de la SGM y vemos en muchas otras a los rusos siempre dibujados como los malos. Es obvio que la historia lo escriben los vencedores y en este caso el contrapeso que hicieron al final de la SGM los anglosajones crearon que prácticamente se escribiera una realidad en la historia y borraron el rol de la URSS.

Totalmente de acuerdo incluso , se tardaron mucho tiempo en el desembarco de normandia , ya para ese tiempo el gran ejército Rojo llevaba años peleando por su patria , y fueron ellos los rusos los que llegaron primero al reicht en Berlín, la llamada bandera de la victoria fue la de la unión soviética que se izo en el reicht en Berlín, fue el pueblo soviético que salvo a la humanidad en la II guerra mundial. Sin embargo Stalin no asiste a las guerrillas comunistas griegas. El avance soviético contra la Manchuria projaponesa fue rampante y se tomaron las islas al norte de Hokkaido. El pacto si fue cumplido por Stalin. Además el ejército rojo había tomado el 90% de Austria y allí no se instaló gobierno socialista alguno. Hay que considerar que se pretendió por parte de Stalin que Alemania fuera un país casi que desmilitarizado y neutral, sin misiles por ejemplo. Eso no lo cumplió el eje anglobritanico. Así es que surge la RDA.

Excelente documental, un excelente resumen de lo que fue esta reunión y marco la historia universal.

La prensa occidental , ya juega un papel importante para EE.UU, Inglaterra, despotricando de Stalin y la Unión Sovietica. Solo habría que recordarle a la prensa occidental , que la Unión Soviética perdió más de 20 millones entre militares y civiles y cientos de millones de dólares en pérdidas materiales. Por lo tanto, es justo que en las negociaciones en Yalta , Stalin tenía que plantear como recuperar lo perdido en la guerra.

Y lo recuperó. Después de la guerra, Stalin se quedó con toda Europa del Este, convirtiéndola en su propio patio trasero. No es culpa de Occidente que la URSS no haya sabido administrar bien ese territorio y que ahora gran parte de esos países que antaño fueron poco más que Estados satélites de la URSS hoy estén del lado de Occidente. Si tratas mal a tus mascotas, ellos se irán con un dueño que los trate mejor 😂

Que documental tan superfluo, se les olvida todo lo que la URSS y su pueblo hizo por la humanidad. Creo que el error de Stalin fue recibirlos con honores debieron de haber vivido los líderes lo que vivió el pueblo ruso.

Gracias a los que realizan este tipo de documentales son excelentes, lo mejor que he visto, hasta parece que es una película de Hollywood 👍

Para mi Stalin y churchill fueron dos líderes que hicieron mucho daño a personas inocente en febrero de 1943 murieron más de 3 de millones de persona en la ciudad de Bengala en la India por culpa de churchill les negó la alimentación a esa pobre gente😢😢😢😢

Fue un hombre sumamente prepotente, egocéntrico, y de decisiones militares sabía muy poco sino es que nada. El único hombre capaz de equivocarse de la misma manera 2 veces. La primera vez pensó que el imperio otomano era el eslabón más débil y por tanto que sería fácil aplastarlo, el resultado: La derrota de gallipoli y su cese como lord del almirantazgo. Volvió a pensar lo mismo sobre Italia ya en la segunda guerra mundial, dijo que al ser la parte más débil del eje desde ahí se podría llegar en tiempo record al sur de Alemania, el resultado: Las tropas angloestadounidenses jamás llegaron a alcanzar los Alpes, se quedaron a duras penas cerca de Milán y tardaron meses en llegar hasta ahí tras encarnizados combates contra los alemanes y lo que quedaba de los fascistas italianos.

Buenisimo documental porque nos ayuda a reflexionar,razonar y a comprender porque las cosas sucedieron y resultaron como resultaron,y porque geograficamente aparecio una segunda potencia militar que por razones geograficas pudo llegar con mas facilidad hasta Berlin y hasta cierta punto tener ventaja en las negociaciones finales porque tenia su ejercito expandido desde Rusia hasta Berlin.

Especially the comment at 29:35, about the Soviets not wanting a hostile state right on their border. Ukraine, anyone? Maybe non-communist Russia's actions there are a bit more understandable, with this in mind. It's the part of that conflict -- the pre-invasion part -- we're never told about.

Also, you can also see that FDR is a sick man, in a very famous photo taken in August 1944. FDR and Truman were sitting under a magnolia tree having lunch at the White House. Although Roosevelt was only 2 years older, than Truman, the age difference looked much bigger because of how sick FDR was and how healthy Truman was.

Interesante documental. Pero no hay que perder de vista, si lo realizaron unos Británicos, unos Rusos o unos Estadoinidenses.

Se ha dicho que la historia la hacen o deciden los vencedores. Lo mejor sería decir que la historia la narran los "historiadores" de acuerdo a las decisiones o instrucciones recibidas de quienes planearon, desarrollaron y determinaron los acontecimientos fundamentales para obtener sus prefijados fines. La narración de los acontecimientos relevantes de la historia depende también de la mentalidad o ideología de quien los narra. Esta narración aparentemente imparcial, resulta interesante en ciertos aspectos. Pero se ignora o se olvida que la segunda guerra mundial no fueron planeadas y ejecutadas totalmente por quienes negociaron en Yalta sino por las oscuras élites que desde antaño han estado moviendo a su antojo los hilos del devenir de la humanidad. Los tres negociadores no llegaron a la dirección de sus respectivos países por su sola inteligencia y astucia sino gracias a los tenebrosos poderes que los respaldaron. Aunque aparentemente estaban siendo autónomos para decidir, realmente no podían salirse del guión, del plan trazado por sus poderdantes, quienes eran los que habían trazado de antemano el nuevo rumbo que debía seguir la humanidad, sin apartarse del maquiavélico principio "divide y reinarás" concretado en las dos ideologías enfrentadas capitialismo y socialismo. El hecho de que los "acuerdos de Yalta" se hubieran desmoronado pronto es una evidencia de que la reunión era más una farsa que una realidad. Era solo una tregua para suspender temporalmente la masacre de millones y poder reorganizar el mundo (la ONU y los nuevos organismos de explotación como el sistema financiero actualizado), no para la paz sino para una más sofisticada división de los países de tal manera que los poderosos através de las llamadas "potencias" pudieran continuar el juego de la dominación que permite que unos pocos fuertes se enriquezcan a costillas de los débiles, cumpliendo así el irrenunciable principio natural de que "el fuerte devora al débil". Si se analiza el transcurrir de la historia de la postguerra mundial segunda, los guerras a pequeña escala han continuado. Así que, excepto si se produjera el exterminio de la humanidad entera, una tercera guerra mundial será solo una nueva tregua para estructurar la humanidad de acuerdo a los planes de las élites.

Estimado Señor: ud ha escrito una narrativa muy aceptada, quisiera agregar un dato que ud no escribió, USA no es un país guerrero, si los japoneses no atacan P.H., USA no hubiera declarado la guerra, por lo contrario, se están veneficiando, ya que ayudó a que USA saliera de la gran depresión que empezó en 1929 y sumergió a este país a su peor periodo económico, todos sabemos los beneficios económicos, él poder industrial de USA y las consecuencias, considerando que la 11GM se ganó (económicamente) en BRENTON WOODS, en la cual USA exigió que el USA DOLAR fuese la moneda internacional de cambio, ahí es donde se ganó la 11GM, mi opinión, muchas gracias y un cordial saludo, JV

What an eye opening bit of history. This has confirmed my poor opinion of both Churchill and Roosevelt. They were all talk and bluster while Stalin sat back and took everything he wanted. Stalin, by far was the better player. He played the Western leaders like a fiddle. Too bad Roosevelt didn’t live to see the fool that he was.

True yet a cruel remark of sorts considering the GB stood alone against Nazi Germany just prior to the attack on Pearl Harbor, bringing in the United States into the War. President Roosevelt died 6 weeks later & was succeded by Vice-President Truman. Prime Minister Churchill was voted out of office on July 27th & was succeded by Deputy Prime Minister Clement Attlee.

Stalin fue un GIGANTE de su tiempo. Iósif Stalin vivió en una época histórica, en donde el mundo requería de liderazgos fuertes. Así que tuvo que ser un dirigente enérgico. Severo. ¡Imponente! O, de otro modo, la “Madre Rusia” hubiera desaparecido del mapa. Stalin fue lo que tenía qué ser: Un Gran Líder. Un Gran Estadista. Stalin heredó un país yermo, rural, preterido, analfabeta, hambriento, supersticioso, deprimido, carente de todo y, para colmo, delirantemente desamparado. Rusia era entonces, un país de “Siervos” (Esclavos), y Stalin lo convirtió en una súper potencia industrializada y poderosa, que puso a temblar al mundo. I am surprised what is not discussed is Roosevelt’s poor health. It would not like today where you get on a luxury, jetliner and comfort and fly around the world. The trip to Yalta was extremely arduous for Roosevelt at this stage in his life. he could not have been at his best for negotiations. it was a terrible miscalculation to feel that his personal relationship with Stalin would be make any difference.

So, Britain and France declared war over Hitler's invasion of Poland (and Stalin's invasion too). Then, at war's end, Stailin gets Poland anyway, and without Hitler. That really makes sense 😢

@tomjones5650 have you read “Killing Patton”? Patton was wondering if they were fighting the right enemy(Germany). He knew the real enemy lied further east. At least from what his book states.
