Great info, even though I'm aiming to be a portrait photog only. Just a FYI: when installing the sand bag on the C-stand, place it on the leg that's highest, that way all the weight is being "used". Whereas a low leg will have the actual weight(sand) more or less on the ground, specially needed outdoor. Also I use a carabiner attached to the loop to keep the sandbag in place. My madness is to keep sandbag weight with the stand to minimize tipping of stand and expensive light/modifiers.

I have a question regarding the light stand. I have CN900 LED Light panels. and want to install/attach 2 of those panels on one stand. one on the top & one on the bottom. Do you know how and what i need to get? such like Clamps or extra mounting tips on to the stand? I will continue watch your videos!! thank you!!

You mention the Alzo 3000's as being 3000 watt equivalents, but as 100 watt LED's, they're each probably closer to a 500 watt tungsten bulb. Unless I misunderstand, the two combined throw about 1000w equivalent.
@neirad537
10 жыл бұрын
It said in the website is about 1000 w tungsten 200 HMI, but its probably less. The problem I encounter with Led vs tungsten is that the light falls out really quick.
@Humcrush
10 жыл бұрын
neirad537 Yeah, I know that manufacturers like to say that 100 watts of LED = 1000 watts of tungsten, but I've not found that to be true, nor has anyone else I've seen who has directly compared output. I've found my 100 watt LED's are more comparable to a 500 watt bulb in my Lowell Tota's. They are definitely not as bright as a 1000 watt bulb.
@neirad537
10 жыл бұрын
Joseph Moore They say in the website its about 9000 lux at 1m, to me that's a bit high, but the problem is you never use it that close and LED led falls like crazy, so at a decent distance lets say 3 meter they probably output same lux as 500 tungsten. I don't own tota, but I own a couple of Lowel V-Light 500 watt and I know that it will produce way more light that the so call 500 watt tungsten equivalent florescent lights, I can't tell about this LED ones but they are not 3000 watt equivalent, that's for sure.
@Samtagri
10 жыл бұрын
neirad537 Ahem, so I don't know much about LEDs and tungsten lights. But I do know physics. If two lights are the same strength at one meter, I see no reason why they will be a different strength at 2 meters. I don't think it is possible for an LED to have a faster fall off than other lights. It all works according to the inverse square law and that is the same for all lights. Or did I miss something???
@Humcrush
10 жыл бұрын
Samtagri The difference is the unfocused nature of many tiny points of light versus one point light, not to mention the wide unfocused design of most led light enclosures. Similar experience with many fluorescent lights.
