I hope not only me appreciated the heroism of the Homeless guy not just once, but twice. First, when he covered a cloth to the zombie's head who's attacking Gong Yoo's character, second when he sacrificed his life for the pregnant woman and the little girl. :(( One of my favorite characters in this masterpiece.

yeah fr ,i really loved that guy , to me it looked like that he maybe felt guilty throughout the movie, like at first from his dialogues it looked like he was a survivor from an area that got attacked by these zombies ig and somehow found shelter in the train so maybe survivor's guilt at that and then he maybe felt guilty about how the people in the group he was with all had their own problems and someone close to them who they had to protect but still helped him in all this chaos (especially the pregnant lady who allowed him to enter in the train while having no confirmation of whether he was infected or not) while he was too coward to do something and also because he was the reason that the big guy got infected (the husband of the pregnant lady who saved him earlier) maybe all these things gave him the courage to do what he did to protect those two (maybe three if you count the baby?) and repay their kindness by increasing their chances of survival. but anyway man this movie got some interesting characters for sure.

Fun fact: the child role was originally supposed to be a son, but the director was so impressed by Kim Su-an's acting in her audition that they rewrote the child character to be a daughter!

Dude if you look back at the kid she’s SUCH a good actor. The way she cried over her dad and sang while being devastated over his death. It’s so well done. Seriously a great actor.

I really appreciate y’all reacting to this movie, a lot of people are missing out on AMAZING movies like Train to Busan just cuz it’s in a different language 💀 people think reading subtitles take away from the movie but your reactions just prove my point 😂 anime watchers are all examples of that

Old I know, but I agree that people should be more open to watching shows/movies that are in a different language since it opens the door to discovering some genuinely amazing gems. I think what made them more open to watching this movie was the fact that they're already so used to reading subtitles from watching anime in the original dub. Either way, Train To Busan really is an amazing movie, especially for it being a zombie film since that genre isn't typically done so seriously and heartfelt.

She is the first pregnant character that not die and pretty usefull. To think she not miscarriege with all the running just show how strong she is.

That little girl was amazing. Kids are usually just the death of movies, but she was incredible.

It's so crazy hearing Gong Yoo being referred to as the Squid Game guy (not that it's bad LOL). He's actually one of the biggest names and highly paid actors in Korea. It's very difficult to book him; Gong Yoo only made a cameo as a favor from the director with who he was friends with.

Yes I literally never thought about that. Squid Game, Parasite and Eternals are all so iconic and the 3 main guys have a big/important role in each one. And the fact that them three were all in Train to Busan before? That's kinda crazy and cool. I guess the popularity of the movie got them great success later.

12:05 Honestly, it’s nice that the train employee actually stopped sometimes to get warn people, though it was pointless and he also ended up bitten when he stopped to wake someone up.

It’s crazy to think even after all the character growth of the dad and all the visuals (him gaining blood on his shirt in the shape of a heart to symbolize his change, him seeing how he could’ve ended up through seeing the ceo, etc) that the little girl was always the main character. If it weren’t for her the pregnant couple wouldn’t be been saved, the grandmas wouldn’t have been saved, the dad couldn’t have motivation to change and learn to help others, and even at the very end the little girl was the reason they weren’t shot. It follows her storyline and if it weren’t for her so many people were saved (or could’ve been if it weren’t for the ceo). The whole thing is a huge mindfuck when you really sit back and think about it.

Fun fact: the actor playing the dad also starred in a Korean drama where he goes to the movies and watches Train to Busan. It is hilarious. XD

For anyone interested, the actress who plays the pregnant lady and the baseball guy actor (who is also the son in Parasite) are in a recent reality show called Jinny's Kitchen where a few famous korean celebs went to Mexico together to open a Korean street food restaurant. One of the vocalists from the music group BTS also went, he's good friends with the baseball guy actor. The show basically films them running the restaurant together, cooking very tasty looking Korean food for the customers and interacting with them, etc. Even they're all very big name celebs, they're all humble and down to earth people. Worked their asses off to cook good food lol. Episode 6 is a good one.

I appreciate that they recognized the original similarities and then separation that Seok-Woo and Yon-suk share. True Evil: Yon-suk True Good: Sang-Hwa True neutral (main character): Seok-woo This movie followed the perfect formula of showcasing both sides, completely selfish and completely selfless. This gave the main character of Seok-woo the space to explore both sides and evolve as a character, which makes for some of the most interesting and relatable stories and is an excellent way to create an environment for character development.

I enjoy how subtly emotions are conveyed in Korean media. There was no big moment where the father apologizes to his daughter in a big speech. There's just quiet understanding. And they don't exploit the lady's pregnancy to make things more exciting, it goes unsaid that she's vulnerable and should be prioritized.

Saddest zombie movie made

The reason I love this zombie film more than most is because they focused on the main characters transformation. Usually Hollywood makes the badass character the protagonist but with this film the badass is a side character. The protagonist transforms from the selfish businessman to the aspired dad. The scene where the MVP sacrifices himself and the protagonist fighting to open the door from the selfish businessman is basically the complete passing of the torch right there

What was the symbolism

One of the things I like about Train to Busan is that they never actually show characters actually kill the zombies. They at most manage to push the zombies out of their way, not once have they actually managed to kill one. It's not impossible, as evidenced by the army guys in the ending, but the means to do so are far out of the reach of the main characters, they never cease feeling like a very real, very urgent threat. Also, it's very refreshing that they don't fall into the trappings of the genre by making every human character some degree of a dumb twat. So yeah, on top of having very good character writing, it also does zombies VERY well.

Right!? The way they conveyed the danger of the zombies was phenomenal. I wondered out loud “are we going *Walking Dead* or *Last of Us?”* when the first one popped up on the train and was pleased (and horrified-) to see them go in the direction of TLoU. Those actors were fukcing terrifying to watch and the waves of them was just…too muchhh. *Who ever was in charge of the zombies is allowed/needed to get on the HBO show-*

Actually, upon reviewing the scene, isn't that one of the zombies you can see in the background slightly later in the same scene, right before Yong-guk slams a baseball bat into a zombie's teeth?

37:41 Lupa showing absolutely no sympathy towards those people who got mauled by the zombies because they kicked the main characters to the next car shows that even in a zombie apocalypse, he would still value loyalty above all else.

Never seen this channel before and the banter in the beginning already has me hooked. Already the vibes are so much like friends sitting on a couch and im sure you are but what i mean is the viewer feels included somehow. It doesnt feel like watching a video if that makes sense, it feels like hanging out with friends. Definitely keep it up!

The song the little girl sings at the end (that she wanted to sing for her dad) is also thematically meaningful too. As it is a famous love and farewell song. It’s called Aloha ʻOe and was written by Queen Lili'uokalani (the last Hawaiian monarch) in 1878. Lili'uokalani intended this to be a love song but it ended up being a farewell song. Man...I can't remember the last time I cried that hard at a movie. When she sings that song, knowing the connection made to it in the beginning of the movie, and how dismayed I felt when I thought they were gonna shoot them....fuck this movie broke me. And now, knowing the meaning of that song...makes me want to tear up again.

This the one movie that no matter who you are the ending will break you. Even Roshi cried, that’s saying something.

The dad turning and thinking about his daughter gets me every time.

I always love this movie and youtube reactions cuz the first act is always "Why isnt anyone doing anything or saying anything" then once the pregnant wife tells macho man to assist, the reactors are like "hell naw get out of there its not your problem lol" making the bystander effect come back full circle.

"That's that (n-word) from Squid Game" - Yes. That's Gong Yoo. He can also be seen in _Seobak, The Age of Shadows, Silenced,_ and the Kdrama _Goblin,_ which are all well-received. He's a great actor.

The ending just squeezes your heart and throws it on the ground. Every. Time.

Lupa has a high energy throughout the video but when the last scene where the father got infected, he literally shut his mouth and stop himself from tearing up.

Its a Horror movie for sure, but at the same time it tells about humanity, some are selfish, some are selfless, some at first is selfish then became selfless.

Was crying at the end and then "Rest in peace egg theory" got me laughin like a maniac. My sister thought I was going crazy laughing and crying at the same time.

This was one of the best zombie horror films I had ever watched. Who would had thought that a film like this can get so MANY people emotional? Every single time I watch this movie and see the reactions of people watching this, the ending KILLS me every fucking time. Train to Busan made me cry and be emotional quite a few times and to see ya cry together was amazing! The score was too good as well!

George Romero, the creator of zombie genre, said that WWZ killed the genre, I hope he see this. Sadly, he passed away a year before its release

The last death scene is so beautiful. The score, the look of joy and pride as a father on his face. Makes me tear up every time.

Ehem, Covid, ehem. Yes, this movie made me think what will happen IF. I know some people have to, or maybe deliberately, saying they are fine when irl they got the virus. They try to hide it so they can go to work. Especially if they are worker who paid daily.

Is very common in Korea to carry boiled eggs for snacking in purses, in lunch boxes and you can even buy them individually already boiled in seven elevens or any convenience stores.

So we know Roshi and Lupa getting clapped during Zombie Apocalypse by Sheera lol they wouldn't be actually turning they'll sneeze and she'll be like "I'm not taking any chances" *boom* 🤣

After watching Train to Busan for several times. I understand ALL of the characters, ALL of the are afraid and just trying to survive in their own way. We don't know what we will turn out in that kind of situations. Because fear can make even the kindest person into a monster.

Thats the Squid Game effect. Ever since Squid Game, Korean movies and series have atractted a lot more international attention. Netflix has also done a good investment in partnering with Korean productions. Bout time more people give korean productions a chance, they were missing out on some really good ones.

Aaaaaand then I got to the end, remembered how fucking sad this movie is, and now I’m crying.

Y'all's fixation on the egg was cracking me up! This has been my number one zombie movie since its release in 2016. I think the magic is in the character arcs. Most zombie movies get so focused on the action, gore, or larger world building, that they lack in proper characters. 'Train To Busan' one gives you beautiful character development & story, along with the action & suspense of a zombie genre film.

I love this movie because it does so much of what I want from a movie - it’s a thrill to watch, action-packed, kept me on the edge of my seat, memorable characters, and makes me feel something!

The daughter acting in this movie was so beautiful and the end scene. The father started to pay attention to his daughter later in the end. The end scene was so emotional ❤️🙏🏾

One of the greatest zombie flicks of all time. Me and some friends made an unofficial list of the greatest zombie things ever, and this was #2, beaten only by the original 1978 Dawn of the Dead. A true classic.

You guys are all awesome.. can't wait for more...great job!!

It's so good to see Korean movies/shows going more popular now and this one get me out of guard, I was already saturated of zombies when my GF took me to the theater to watch this. At the end I was like Sheera and Lupa, crying my eyes of. Ok, it's time for a Kingdom reaction, the best original Netflix zombie show so far, also Korean, also amazing. BTW, the MVP guy is Gilgamesh from Eternals. Love you guys, much love from Brazil.

Crazy how our 3 guys all appeared in well-known movies/shows: Squid Game, Parasite and Eternals. They are famous in Korea but it's nice to see them well-received internationally

For those wondering, the guy he's talking to on the phone is a member of his clan, so like distant family whos also an officer in the Korean army, and he was torn up because the government traced the link of the virus back to a chemical plant; the same chemical plant that gave his clan power and influence, the same company the main character worked for.

Love the reaction. I like how much u guys get invest in the movies and how u noticed the character development for each character. Lot of reaction i watched especially when done by group, they all more busy cracking joke with each other and wasnt really paying attention to the movies. Keep missing the details. Love this. In my opinion, this is THE best Zombie movie. It goes a different approach than most other Zombie movies by having a serious plot with actual character development, as opposed to the typical action Zombie movies we get from Hollywood.

Absolutely the best Zombie movie ever made. That last scene is a killer and your reactions are genuine. Everyone cried with that scene.
