Mike Skinner/The Streets is without a doubt a legend. Most people do find his style of rapping bad at first but there's something about him where his style just grows on you, in particular the theme of alot of his songs, he has an ability to paint a picture of what he's saying. That along side his style of off beat production, it shouldn't work but it does on so many levels!

That album is still his best work. Love how the songs are all tied together and reference each other and tells an over-arching story. His girlfriend is sleeping with his friend. He thinks it is the Molly messing with him when he sees her kissing his friend. Other songs on the album deal with him figuring it out and dealing with his friend stabbing him in the back.

Mike Skinner (The Streets) has a totally unique style. Great stuff. All of his songs, and his albums as well, are stories. This one is about his girl and his boy getting together behind his back, and him getting more and more wasted while he tries to find them. When he finally sees them, he's so hammered he doesn't realize what is going on. The album is about how he loses a grand, finds a girl, suspects his friends about the money, loses the girl (to his friend), then finds the money where he misplaced it :)

Life here is tough and gritty. That why our artistic contributions often have that vibe. The closest i can compare it to is new york. It got that same grimey gritty vibe. So yeah we do grow up fast. Also our age limits are lower for most things. Sex at 16, Drink and smoke at 18 (smoking was 16 when kidulthood was released) . We start school earlier and finish earlier (16, but has changed to 18 for kids starting now).

It's best to listen to the whole album. It tells the story of a bloke who loses a grand, meets a las l, gets bored of her, goes on holiday has an affair, comes home, gets mashed in a club whilst his las cops off with his mate, misses breaks up with him and it ducks him up. His loses his mates and his TV breaks. He sits down and has a can of special and realises if he wasn't a twat his day would better. Through some magic time get redone and he realises if he is fair with his mates he'll keep them. Also if he doesn't lose his shit with the TV man, the TV man tells him that an envelope with a grand has fallen with his TV. Essentially his misses has left him but at least hes found his grand so sweet. Theres also a bit about betting and forgetting to fill in the form correctly and nearly losing money ... But yeah listen to the album it's pretty good story

It's all about transition. Stacy was the ultimate,on her own. Then she moved into the clubs, and she mixed with alcohol..then she was introduced to Joe snow.. And that was that. Long, long time before those movies. Original crew, original ravers. 88-94. ☂️

Its a great track, i can just picture it in my head, its part of a concept album and its actually set in the nightclub not a wedding, music clip is recorded at the wedding, not sure why.
