I completed my Lent this year and by no means do you have to do it for salvation but I do it to test myself, installing discipline I need. I went off chocolate and all soft drinks, I love chocolate and it makes me feel closer to Christ over those 40 days and feel exactly how he felt in ways. That temptation of just open a chocolate bar and eat it, what harm will it do if its only have 1, I refuse it and grappling with my thoughts. When I don't give in I feel strong and now lent is over I'm so grateful, I love Lent and when it's over I really miss it but now I'm stronger than I was last year through Jesus. Nobody else, yes it's my will to do it but without having Jesus to look up to, I would have diabetes by now and not healthy. God bless. Happy Easter.

I’m Coptic Orthodox, but this story of St. Mary Magdalene is known throughout both orthodox communions, and the Roman Catholic Church. The true story of the first Easter egg. “In the Eastern Orthodox tradition, Mary Magdalene visited Emperor Tiberius to issue a complaint about how Pontius Pilate handled Jesus’s trial. As she described the events of the crucifixion and resurrection, the Emperor dismissed her story, scoffing, “That could no more happen than the egg in your hand could turn red”. Promptly, Mary Magdalene prayed and the egg turned red. According to the Orthodox, it is from this event of the meeting of Mary Magdalene and the emperor that we developed the custom of Easter eggs, where in the Russian and Greek tradition, red Easter eggs are given as gifts. Her visit to Rome is still very much alive in the Orthodox Tradition. Most of the icons, especially Russian ones, represent Mary Magdalene with a red egg in her hand.”

It's a bit of a problem to say "there's very little about Eostra" - literally just one sentence by St. Bede. Even by his time no one celebrated any feast to do with Eostra - the month was called "Eoster-monath", and St. Bede reflects that is the reason many people call the feast "Easter" - because the unlearned think that of course the most important day in the Church year has its month named after it, rather than this month being named for a long-forgotten pagan goddess. The connection is like thinking that we must celebrate Janus' day because our first month is called January. These are just the names of the months, they no longer have anything to do with the pagan gods that they were named after. I am fully in favour of renaming April to Easter (or Pascha) and December to Nativity, March to Annunciation, August to Dormition, January to Theophany, and so on. We can erase the pagan gods from our calendar once and for all.

It goes further back than your study...easter goes all the way back to ashtoreth in the Old Testament...languages of different cultures spell these names differently (eostre, ishtar, eostra, etc). The main focus is that she was worshipped as a fertility goddess, since it is of pagan origins and there is but One God, Paul would call her a demon according to 1 Corinthians 10:20, so a fertility demon to sacrifice to. Which is where the egg came from...the pagan priest would impregnate temple prostitutes during the spring equinox during the festival of easter, the following year the three month old children would be killed and the eggs were "colored" in their blood. If the Church wants a festival to celebrate the Messiah's resurrection, use the festivals that God perfectly gave...Jesus died on Passover as the sacrificed Lamb, buried on the first day of Unleavened Bread (the High Day Sabbath that He had to be taken off the cross for) and was raised from the on Firstfruits (the best and first of the harvest). Here in 2024, easter is March 31st...Passover, First Day of Unleavened Bread and Firstfruits is April 22-28, separated because they are not the same thing..."If you love Me you will keep My commandments" John 14:15..."Pay attention to all my instructions. You must not call on the names of the other gods, nor let it be heard on your lips" Exodus 23:13... "When the LORD your God cuts off before you the nations whom you go in to dispossess, and you dispossess them and dwell in their land, take care that you be not ensnared to follow them, after they have been destroyed before you, and that you do not inquire about their gods, saying, 'How did these nations serve their gods?--that I also may do the same.' You shall not worship the LORD your God in that way, for every abominable thing that the LORD hates they have done for their gods, for they even burn their sons and their daughters in the fire to their gods. "Everything that I command you, you shall be careful to do. You shall not add to it or take from it. Deuteronomy 12:29-32... "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:17-20

Easter Is Pegan and Wicked! Dont Celebrate it!

  • @marcellnigro

Do u know when the problem begins? It begins by saying “EASTER”!!! Sons of Elohim DO NOT celebrate Easter, we celebrate the PASSOVER and the resurrection of the Lamb!! Churches adopted the pagan word "Easter" and use it like a symbol for Messiah. Which is a shame really... they don't even bother to check the history of this word. “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children (Hosea 4:6).”
