I had the idea of combining a GP and a WING a while ago, great paddle ii think.... the speed is only evident if you have the right kayak for it.

Sure speed is not depending on a paddle alone. Kayak, technic and stamina are important factors. But for me sitting in the same kayak and change paddle I can notice the difference.

It is really a very unusual design. I learn both wing (sprint) technique and Greenland canted blade technique and I just have to ask this question: how do you use this paddle? 🤯

You use it like a wing paddle, not canted like a Greenland paddle. I’ve noticed that you love it or hate it, haven’t met anyone who is indifferent to it.

@@JonasAlexanderson thank you. If I ever come across it, I'll definitely give it a try. 👍

Looks a really interesting paddle - I'd love to give that a try. How is the split mechanism? I find the Gearlab to stick a bit some times.

The split is very nice. Easy to take apart or assemble and no button that sticks out. It makes the loom a bit thicker but I think it gets even better to hold that way.

Are there any other differences in paddle-technique with this paddle, other than those you mentioned?

Yes, with the Avannaq you paddle more like with a normal wing paddle. But its not much of a problem as the loom will make you hold the paddle in the correct way.
