Appreciate the review. I bought both the driver and 7 iron. Going to the range tomorrow. Only used in the yard with no ball so far. Had trouble getting the click. Finally got a swing with both that produced clicks. I’m a terrible golfer. If it helps with my grip and a release at the right time it will help me improve. I feel like it good help with club head speed as well. We’ll see and I’ll let you know.

I do think the grip feature and how it helps you feel speed through the impact area with the click is beneficial. But it certainly does not help with club path as they claim. Cheers and good luck!

Looks like this is a pretty hot topic right now. Interesting that both Rocco and Eric give this product very high praise. They swear by the "only clicks if your swing is on plane" claim. I ordered the 7 iron driver combo on April 15 and still have not received them. Delivery now expected May 22-24. I just received my straight stick and have wtched all the training videos. I can’t get the magnet to release from any position at any swing speed. I even tried with the adjustment about 1 inch from the bottom. I wonder if anyone else is having the same problem.

I set mine to 60 and swing way too hard to get a release. So, yes, I am having the same problem

IMO the problem with the Straight Stick is it’s a 7 iron. Even folks who are not reliably good ball strikers can generally hit a 7 iron decently. So it’s not that valuable a training aid.

I just got my 7 iron and no matter how I swing or adjust it, I cannot make it click!

I ordered it a few weeks ago and haven't gotten it yet, sounds like I got ripped off. I wonder how difficult they make the return process? I had a bad feeling going through the ordering process with all the bullshit add on's they hawk, I should have gone with my gut and stopped.

I've got the lag shot and its def helped my swing. Never been able to feel that "whip" action with my irons. About 20 minutes with the lagshot and BAM...I can feel the lag or whip action in my normal irons. Which helps with letting the club load up before going into my downswing. You do kind of loose that feeling and have to relearn with the lagshot. Im happy with it, will def stay in my bag. Makes a great preround warm up club.

I just received mine today and I have the same exact issues. I am 15 index and swing a 7 iron in the mid 80 mph range. I can easily make this click at the 100mph + setting. Over/ under plane it doesn't matter, it will click. I didn't buy it for the grip. I already submitted a refund request email.

Just finished the stream. Sorry that thing doesn't work. I'm curious what exactly (as a fellow Mevo+ owner) are the symptoms of your unit? All I heard was something about the connection. Also, even Roy Mcavoy was fell victim to golf paraphernalia... then he won the U.S. Open 😆

Tested it before the stream and was all good. Went live and it just was having connection issues… not sure. Maybe some interference on the network or something? 🤷🏻‍♂️ it just would never go to “ready”.

@@GolfOnTap I've had that happen in e6, Flightscope range & GSPro & force closing the app always works. But you've probably tried that. Also, "over the top" isn't always literal. Check out a Craig Stadler swing video. I always thought I was over the top because my hands moved forward (towards the ball) instead of dropping straight down at the start of my down swing but in fact, my face still comes through the slot slightly in to out. You look like a pretty good ball striker so don't tinker until you break it 😉 I think I mentioned in another comment not to be afraid to move back a few inches if you're slicing the ball especially driver. The only reason I bought this was for staying on plane. If it doesn't work as advertised, it is going back. Maybe poor-quality control on the first batch?

Same reason I bought it also… could be a quality issue, but otherwise I can get it to “click” in almost any circumstance. However, I did hand it to my better half (has never golfed) and she was having trouble getting it to release. Cheers!

I’d run to Home Depot and buy a washer then pop the club head off and put the washer on the shaft. Now put the head back on and bingo you got a straight stick.

I wouldn't be too concerned, many people have had problems with the magnet either being too strong or too weak. The quality control on it seems to be an issue in my opinion, cheers!

I am thinking of buying it. Why don’t you do a video at the range by practicing your swing without a ball then start hitting real balls

Fair, I haven't done a 1 to 1 comparison at the range with the Straight Stick. But to be honest after using in the garage, both just swinging it and hitting balls, I think any actual "improvement" in my striking would just be a result of getting reps in with my actual irons. Cheers!

Gave this device at least 5 opportunities on the range only to realize a WASTE of time. Very disappointed! However, credit to those on the advertisement video for great acting that fooled me to fall for it. CON 1: Can't get feel like a traditional club because almost weight of 2 clubs means limited practice because the weight gets you fatigued on backswings. CON 2: Click sound too quiet so usually don’t know if it clicks or not so it's difficult to gauge if swinging properly. If it does click the sound usually drowned out at impact. I set the mechanism at 70 mph, my swing speed, but it didn’t matter. CON 3: When can hear the click the results inconsistent. Some shots I slice but it clicked anyways? Some shots hit flush down the middle but no click? Makes no sense. CON 4: Yes, training video offers solutions for those with hook or slicing issues. But for us golfers who do BOTH equally - there is no advice in training video therefore useless!

I recently bought it and I can’t get this thing to click at all lol

This will always click when the physics says so. As such it cannot plane your swing for you, but it will show you where your release is and of course you need to then understand where the club face is oriented. I would suggest the click after the ball with club face on target is the approach. Not sure I agree with the whole approach to the review actually, while true, not real helpful to the pursuit of swing improvement. The easiest release to execute will be on plane or near on plane, but anyone can manipulate and accelerate this club at any point to get the weight to click wherever you want. Pull down really hard to start the swing and it will click very early. As a review, sort of ok but educationally likely not the best IMO.

I think you'rs is not working good, there is 365 money-back guarantee no question asked, send it back or change it. if they are not sure about this aid why are they providing such a guarantee?

The guarantee did make choosing to purchase it a bit easier. From a business standpoint I would guess they anticipated a certain percentage of returns. Other users have also stated that PG does not cover the return shipping costs, which may discourage some people to actually send it back. Cheers!
