Agreed!! I was hoping he would try some shots on a normal length tee as well. I feel like that height is making it worse.

You totally messed the test up there was no “BOOM” yelled. That alone shorted you 85-100 yards.

I love how they make the analogy that the Hammer X compared to a 460cc driver is like an F-18 compared to a hot air balloon. In reality it's more like an ultralight with a mattress strapped to the front of it compared to a 747

Great video, Rick. I bought an older version of that driver, hoping it would increase my distance. Sadly, it was one of the worst drivers I've ever played with. Your testing is right on the mark. Not a good investment. Thanks for sharing this information with us.

That club was made for beginners that have slower swing speeds. I had one when I started but after 3 rounds the head fell off. Jack Hamm doesn't use it either.

Try teeing it lower, if it’s designed for an average golfer that would most likely “stand up” during their swing and cause them to top the ball, you should tee it down since you’ll stay down on the ball.

If you're talking about the GX7 I believe Peter Finch(if not him it was one of the golf youtubers on here) tested it not too long ago. I know this will come as a shock but he found that there was no use for it and they didn't come near their claims.

Exactly he’s hitting terribly almost as if he’s nervous or somthing . If your hitting that hard and can’t atleast change your swing position then somethings not right with mechanics .

When I saw this online months ago, I looked into it and even called their customer service team. I asked one question: "Is this club legal?" The rep went absolutely apoplectic and began questioning ME! Wanted to know if I took part in PGA Tournaments and said if I didn't what difference did it make. He never answered my question and I said if it's not legal...it's cheating and I hung up. Interesting results you got from it. Thanks for your unparralled reporting on "everything golf." Keep up the good work Rick.

I played mainly Ping I series but want to find a thinner and a bit smaller version of the tour edge forged cavityback. Looking at Srixons right now. Let me know any thoughts. Thanks

I have been waiting for a long time for an honest review on this driver.

Several months ago I did the same review on my channel. And let me say...I’m super impressed that you got such great distance out of that club! I drive it comparable to you and I never got one over 250. It had 1.44 top smash and 3000-3500 rpm spin. Nice hitting mate!

I don't think so. The manufacturer claims that in order to get maximum distance it should be tee'd at a certain height. Rick is testing the claims of the manufacturer as stated.

In the mid 90's I bought a used Hammer driver. It had holes in the face of the club and of course wasn't legal to use. Myself and a friend that owned a driving range were launching balls about 425yrds with this thing. We both were long hitters I had driven a 320 yrd par four a couple of times and once put one around 350 on a dry hard fairway but this thing not only was long but skied the ball. I still have the head but we snapped the shaft later that year. I have no idea why this club was so long.. but it was fun to hit... but after hitting a few everybody wanted a try. This new hammer club looks nothing like the one I have or had given the shaft is gone.

I was just two months ago would like to invent a club like the one has a type of little ball in the back of it. My theory is two billiard balls collide with each other to measure the Coefficient of Restitution. Your demonstrations are really well done, too. Thank you very much for your hardworking guidances.

I bought the first edition of the Hammer 10 or so years ago. Same results. Changed the shaft and had it shortened, and gave it away. Sounded good 😁
