Sometimes i dont even bother with wow lore, i'd rather just play the game, but then.... buuuuut theeeeeen... i stumble into this... and my ass shits here for hrs just listening/watching the lore and im so into it!!! LOL

My girlfriend just started playing WoW. She really liked Sylvanas and wanted to know more about her so we sat down and watched this. She enjoyed the video and now wants to know more Warcraft lore. Thanks for making such a great video Nobbel!

I love Sylvanas, she's one of the most epic lore characters. I don't see her as either an antagonist or a protagonist, she does what she believe is the right thing for her cause, she's not bad, but she's not good either, I'd call her a neutral anti-hero. And I really hope that we will see the return of Alleria Windrunner, becuase she's still MIA. Also remember that if Sylvanas dies, then there's no one who can succeed her in leading the Forsaken, which would mean that Undead race would sooner or later die, and Loarderon would be re-taken by the Humans and Worgen, which would be bad.

And no, it's not he Humans land, the rightful owners of Loarderon are the Undead since Warcraft 3, according to the rules of conquest, it is officially ruled by the Undead,thus making it their land. If you put it in simple terms, the Humans own the southern parts of the Eastern Kingdoms, i.e. everything between Redridge Mountains and the southern border of Duskfall, the Dwarfs own the middle part of the Eastern Kingdoms, everything known as Kaz Modan is part of the Dwarven Kingdom, which include the Wetlands, and everything til the northern border of Badlands, and including Twilight Highlands, Loarderon is owned by the Undead, that include the Plaguelands, and all down to Southshore, and then there's Quel'Thalas that's owned by the Blood Elfs. Ans other places such as Stanglethorne, Blasted Lands, Swamp of Sorrows, Arathi Highlands etc. is neutral, and isn't concidered to be owned by anyone. And no, I don't think that either Koitra nor Mograine are suitable leaders for the Forsaken, Koitra lacks authority, and Mograine is the neutral leader of the Death Knights and the Ebon Blade.

Thank you and Warlords is probably the best time in years to jump into the game. You'll get a boosted 90 so you're right up there with everyone else and you can always level alts or re do quests to see what you missed out on.

don't start with your boosted char! first lvl each class to 20, then lvl a char to lvl 100. later you can make a twink with the boost. otherweise you won't be able to play that class and you'll get really frustrated

I got int the game. Now i'm with a lvl 20 Warlock in the SE and i liked him. Really wish to buy the game and continue playing but i didn't know there was a subscription, this demotivates me a lot, knowing i have to pay every month to play and if i can't i will not be able to log in the game makes me sad...

You don't have to pay for one month at a time. If you do that you would spend over $200 per year. What i do is pay the $75 for 6 months so that way i am only spending $150 a year. Yes that is alot of money, but you have to think. If you have a job where you're earning at least $350 every two weeks you are earning at least $700 a month. If you only buy your everyday personal hygiene (which you should buy the cheapest item) you should buy at least 5 of each item so that way you don't have to worry a money expenditure you will be set for the next 6 months which during those months you will have earned and saved around $3000. That should hold you for at least a years worth subscription. I hope this information helps you in making a decision to keep playing Warcraft. If there is anymore information you would like that will help you in making a decision you will find me on Warcraft between the hours of. DAYTIME:12pm-4pm. NIGHTTIME:10pm-3am. Martin Mullender-Taeter Deathknight is pretty much a warrior and warlock combine. Paladin is a priest and warrior, some can even say a shaman is a druid and warrior combine.

They could make something like: WoW: The Burning Legion In there, we could have an epic battle against archimonde. The Alliance and Horde join forces as archimonde tries to do some crazy things like destroying the world tree again. And Sylvanas would sacrifice herself to save not only her sisters, but the whole world as well. And then she will ascend to heaven and be remembered a hero.

You know what's funny? The fact that anyone even likes her. She has no redeemable qualities whatsoever. She hated Arthas, yet has no problem being exactly what he was. She used plague on Gilneas, she ordered the production of the plague used at Wrathgate, and her latest atrocity, attacking Teldrassil. Now look at Jaina, she has talked about peace between the Alliance and Horde since the end of Warcraft 3 up until Pandaria, where Garrosh nuked Theramore, she wanted revenge, and Horde fanboys hate her more than anything. See how that makes the wow fanbase completely and utterly retarded and incapable of telling a great character from a really shitty one?

Just because her character is *morally* in the wrong, doesn't mean she's a poor character as a whole. The only reason she has no problem with "being" what Arthas was is simply because they are different in many ways. She has *very* different goals- they're simply to survive, and slaughter anyone who would stand against them. She's only raising the dead because she has to in order to keep the Forsaken going- not because she wants to.

There's no one standing against her, this conflict is entirely manufactured by her, so that's a load of crap. And raising the dead to keep the Forsaken going isn't really an excuse as there's nothing to keep going in the first place.

Now that this video has since 3 years past I do hope you continue your story line for Sylvannas and the Windrunner family.

Sylvanas' story will continue in Legion. I hope Blizzard will give her a redemption story after what they did with her during Cataclysm. I've always seen her more as an anti- hero than a villain. I'm sure many people disagree with me, but I have a soft spot for women, especially elven women with a tragic backstory.

I don't understand why people are complaining why she raises the dead, and why raising the dead is so bad. People don't want to die to begin with, she gives them that second chance, if you die NOW would you want to stay dead or finish what you haven't? You have free will as an undead thanks to her, you're not mindless so I don't get why people are complaining. She will never die, killing her would mean killing the Forsaken race as well, so people wanting her dead doesn't make sense and people complaining that not killing her off because of her fanbase are just fucking stupid. _"I don't get why people are complaining."_ *First:* She's a bitch who disregard life. The problem isn't that she raise poor unfortunate soul but want the world to be like her... DEAD. For example, she made a poison that would decimate the undead but make damn sure it decimated the living as well, poison she use multiple time despite being ordered not to. In the interaction and lore, it's evident she regard the living the same way Paladins regard undead. With disgust. That anti-life sentiment, she displayed it multiple time. *Second:* She's not giving anyone the choice. It hard to ask if someone want to be turn or not when they gurgling blood and fading fast. Regardless she's raise any body she can. For those who manage to retain their memories, which are fews, they are usually disgusted by their new form. Some of which have taken taking their own... eh... Unlife? The others slowly go mad with the revelation. If that's what you get from raising people with their mind intact, I'm willing to extrapolate that everyone would want a noble death to a eternity as a rotten corpse. Hell, that's what Sylvana wanted back in Warcraft 3, isn't it? *Third:* She's bad as a leader or a follower. There's multiple account of her going out of her way to piss people off. When you manage to make Garrosh grimace in horror, the guy who did unspeakable crimes, you know you've fucked up. Not to mention the incident where she lose control of her own forces. "No, it's not me it's just my high scientific guy who went behind my back I'm not responsible". Yeah, she kinda is. It's her job to keep her forces in line. If she can't, she's not a very good leader. Beside that, Thrall, Garrosh and... well, we don't know yet since the next expansion lead away from the regular timeline... didn't trust her for ONE MINUTE. *Fourth:* They don't have a place in game. Specially not with the Shamanistic Horde who worship the element and commune with their ancestors. They, at multiple occasion, shown they believe that the spirit should depart the body in death. Raising the death is desecrate the body and forcefully bound the soul to the carcass which is something they would consider like the highest on the list of things you can do to shit on your heritage. They also don't have a place with the Alliance because their religion is based on the LIGHT, which is just a PC word for GOD. Seem like God don't like his creation being perverted since HOLY LIGHT hurt the undead. Sure, there's shadow priest and if you want to go anal on this, they can just as well worship of a God of Darkness (tho the keep the name of the attack for simplicity) or Old God. They even might have Cthulhu on speed dial (and I just know that joke will be the crux of your rebuttal because there's little ammo you can use). Thing is, their religion is against it. A undeniable pure force of darkness and even the undead who wield the light HURT THEMSELVES BADLY wielding it. *Finally:* The only real reason there is a undead race isn't because Sylvana is cool, it's because it's the archetype of any RPG game, both paper or on the screen. The Revenant Race in D&D. The Dhampir in Pathfinder. There's a whole system of games based around the undead with the White Wolf books series call World Of Darkness (Vampire: the Requiem, Geist: the Sin Eater, Mummy: the Curse). They have a long standing tradition in the fantasy genre and there's denying it. They have been at the core of some of the best stories but... there's nothing redeeming the Forsaken here. She hasn't accomplish anything worthy of her place nor done anything that couldn't be achieved by any other races. She got free not by her own action but by those of the heroes in Warcraft 3 and the weakening of Arthas' (the Lich King's) power. No, instead, she's sustained by the some of the weirdest character ever... who seem to have a maggot infested boner for her. _"yes im undead mage and i love her so much"_ - Saud Aj (comment bellow)

Honestly, under the right circumstances Arthas and Sylvanas would make a very good match in an alternate universe imo. Both being headstrong and fearless leaders whose main priorities are safeguarding their people...Not to mention it would complete the set as the other Windrunner sisters are married to humans as well. Imagine if Ner'zhul chose Varian instead.

ive played undead since vanilla, and i feel the sylvanas storyline is probably the most deep in the entire game

killing Sylvanas would be 4th warchief exchanged xD ... I don't think they want to change warchiefs each expansions ... also, not sure who would be interesting enough to lead the forsaken .. to be honest now, I am having a hard time finding an interesting troll or orc leading them (presuming thral is on leave and Eitrig and Saurfang are OLDer than dirt ) .

I love all of your videos and I thank you for taking the time to share them with us. I would love to read the books but I'm not sure where to get them without purchasing them. So your videos will suffice. Once again thank you for the entertainment and sharing these amazing stories.

I feel so bad for her... She's my favorite character in WC lore. I hope one day she'll be able to clean her name as she truly is a hero. Her story should be told to children to teach them that revenge won't fix anything. Revenge is a path of anger to even more suffering. I really hope one day when there will be peace on Azeroth she'll be able to make a cure for her and her people. That would be a perfect ending in my eyes. Also I might add that maybe Vereesa and Alleria could help her find her way back now that we know Alleria is still alive in WoW. I wonder what impact will that have on Sylvanas.

Thy'lek Shran What crimes are you talking about? All I hear is people saying that but no1 has ever pointed out what crimes she has to pay for.. I know few things that we could call crimes but mostly people point out events at the Wrath Gate and plague attack on Gilneas.. If people knew the lore better they'd know that these weren't really her crimes / orders. I agree with jaharned1.. how the events are unfolding she's gonna die.. just like all the other "old" heroes of Azeroth... Blizz decided it's time to replace them all... We'll see what'll happen in next few patches.. It's 100% sure now she won't become the new Lich King or Queen should I say since DKs forge their artifact weapon from fragments of Frostmourne...

Wouldn't make any sense to kill her, I mean did any of you hear Vol'jin's last words? That she was going to step out of the shadows and save the horde? I hope it doesn't become a thing to keep on killing the warchiefs because it would seriously get ridiculous. But I get the feeling there is going to be a change with her, bad or good; and actually I'm learning a little bit more towards good but you never know.

I have a theory that Sylvannas doesn't actually go to hell whenever she dies, and that it is all just a scenario created by the Val'Kyr to keep her alive. The reason I think this is that the Val'Kyr seem entirely dependant on serving an undead master, and it makes sense that they would prefer to serve Sylvannas since Bolvar's not gonna do shit as the Lich King. Another reason is that there were many convenient coincidences in Sylvannas's hell, such as how she would see Arthas suffering in the short time she spent in hell and how the Val'Kyr are always with her when she is killed.

Also, I find it annoying that Sylvannas has begun dying left and right ever since she gained control of the Val'Kyr. Blizzard seems to feel the need to hammer it in.

UPDATE: Perhaps ever since the death of Arthas, the Val'kyr that joined the forsaken began serving the remnant's of Yogg'Saron. Perhaps Yogg or another old god are using the Val'kyr to influence the forsaken and Sylvanas into making enemies out of the Alliance. The reason I believe this is because Raid Boss in Emerald Nightmare mentions how Sylvanas is prophesised to play a part in the Old gods' plans, and I feel like this is the way they would go about it. Another reason is since Yogg'Saron is Hope's End, pretty much the god of anguish and depression, he could use Sylvanas' loathing of her own evil nature to manipulate her actions. And it also makes sense since the hell that Sylvanas suffers in is possibly the Void, the realm of the Old Gods.

Interesting idea... But probably not entirely true. Remember, they actually die whenever they resurrect her. I don't think they would sacrifice their lives just for a "scenario" as you called it.

I love this channel, time to time I have to do some activities that don't require that much concentration, so those videos are amazing to watch meanwhile :D

You know, this is the first vid from you that I watch and I really think you'd make a great DM.

2nd saddest story after Arthas. So much potential turned into evil ass. Only that Sylvanas doesn't become new Arthas, bastard who she hated, better that she become good character with some better purpose. After all, she is Elf. Btw I can't belive how I loved evil Arthas as kid, didn't care that much for Sylvanas, and now it's totally opposite. I hate him and I'm glad what he died and feeling sorry for her. Probably because I pay more attention on intensity and cruelty of his acts and all good what was in her, maybe still is, and what great pain she suffers instead of just admiring the game and story. I don't know why she thinks of herself like that she's so f.r.e.a.k.i.n.g. hot ^

+pas She has suffered so much. It's understandable why she was hell bent on vengeance. But, like all good story and character development. Her life should be a journey and her motives should change. I don't think she totally realizes that the Scourge is slowly corrupting her. She seems lost with really any sense of direction or purpose. She's afraid to die for fear of the torment she will face. She wants to have her free will. But, if left unchecked she could destroy herself. Something or someone needs to help her see it, help her find her purpose and help her embrace her role. It's not an easy life. But, it shouldn't have to be completely miserable. If she can over come her self and just live everyday knowing she is better then Arthas that would be quite a triumph story. I think it would be kind of awesome if she had some kind of reminder. Something similar to wolf skin Durotan wears.

One of the reasons I'm interested in Legion is seeing the story play out between her and her sisters. What will happen if all three of the Windrunner sisters are united? How will this effect Sylvanas? It will be interesting to see how things unfold.

Rhonin is not dead! We hear him in Dalaran everday! Sorry Nobbel, that's in the game. Until Blizzard changes that, that is the way it is. Many of us don't rely on books until they are incorporated into the game.

Thank you so much for filling in the gaps of understanding I had in the storyline. It's hard to say what will come of Her, but we shall see I suppose.

also, regarding sylvanas' necklace, Players can go to windrunner spire in the ghostlands and one of the mobs will drop it, thats how you get her to sing lament of the highborne, I'm saying this cause no one goes to the ghostlands and still asks how to get her to sing.

Just subbed n liked, amazing work.. ive been away from wow since had kids around time of burning legion and recently returned now my kids are bit older, had so much to relearn and catchup on and found my now 40 year old brain loving the lore more and this video was perfect for that, often you miss so much while questing so videos like this are great, needles to say I'll be watching the rest of the history of's over coming few days. Ive restarted my fury warrior to reabsorb the game and its new features, was a curious find before id realised a level-enemy system was now in there lol Thanx again and keep the lore coming

I always hoped for redemption for Sylvanas. If she does die, I don't want to think of one of my favorite characters basically having to deal with that. Yes that upsets me that a character in a video game suffers... I am invested, okay? :P I always hoped that she would go down her dark path that she did up until the point of a reunion with her sisters, at which point she would sacrifice herself or something for them and redeem her soul and what not. It was set up so well in War Crimes then suddenly "YES I SHALL KILL HER AND WE CAN LIVE TOGETHER FOREVER!" Wat. I don't know I just am a huge fan of her (and no not because boobs), and maybe I just have been turned against the idea of it just because it is what everyone and their mother on the US story forums want simply because they dislike her.(Which btw, the US story forums is awful. All it is is filled with discussions about how Horde biased the game is and complaints about the story in general, rather then actually talking about the story with likeminded people. It is awful...) I hope they can come to a satisfying conclusion with Sylvanas, maybe she just retires and goes and lives on a farm in the middle of nowhere and lives out eternity in peace... Yah, sure...

Long live... long live? he's still dead! unless Sylvanas brings him back which would be hilarious but I doubt any of the other Horde leaders would allow that to happen.
