8:05 "You'll leave things unnamed" This is so big to me. In my last relationship, we solved most of our issues under an axiom we created: "Identification abates a process." Essentially, giving something a name, or finding out that your condition is a well-studied thing with a name, the ambiguity evaporates and the naive finger pointing along with it. I love that JP uses the term "unnamed." He really thought this out

Prince Phillip, like Prince Eric, BOTH SLAY THE MONSTER, for love. They're heroes. And that's what women want. Eveyone wants to be rescued when you NEED TO BE RESCUED! Could be wild conjecturing with tons of personal bias and sophistry. You really can't tell... but his seems to be the best of that kind of interpretation and strikes a note with people. He's got the credentials for sure but that doesn't eliminate the possibility of a fundamental bias. Would be good to see an equally in depth feminine perspective on these concepts that properly challenges JP's theories but none exist beyond the popular slogans and memes. You'd have to successfully upend a lot of accepted Freud, Jung and others to even start. If they do exist, they aren't stepping up for some reason.

I do like Jordan Peterson. But as somewhat of a fairy tale fan, i can tell you the following: In the original story as written down by Grimm in 1812, there was not specific "Maleficient". The king and his family were just one dinner-plate short, so they invited one witch less than they could. This made that very witch angry and so she cast the spell. But from the story itself, the witches were not better or worse than the other. Reinterpreting the stories (as is done so often with fairy tales) after the fact is mostly just very silly (especially if you then do it on some later version like from disney).

I love Jordan Peterson but I don’t really agree his point that it’s bad to live together before marriage… it sounds to me that with his logic you would marry the first person you ever date, because how would you know you’ll find anyone better? And some people just aren’t compatible. it doesn’t seem to make sense to not know a person very well (because I don’t think you can know them very well unless you’ve lived together) and just say “hell let’s just go for it and tie ourselves together for the next 50 years, we’ll figure it out!” Like some people are psychopaths and narcissists, you don’t want to figure that out too late
