    That's exactly what I tell guys wanting to become owner ops. All you have to do is look at all these shops. They're plugged up with new trucks, not old pre emission trucks.

    Smoke show the death of the emissions. Mechanical engines all the way, easier to use, easily fixed, last a lot, lot longer, plus you know how the engine is doing by the colour of your smoke. Stay with mechanical, stay safe and strong, keep the rubber side down and the shinny side up and we will see you on the back haule brother.

    My Freightliner DD15 has been in the shop over and over for FIVE MONTHS STRAIGHT for a stupid light on the dash, and nobody can figure out how to fix it. Four different factory authorized dealerships all tried repeatedly and failed every time. Can't drive it more than 300 miles without a fresh alarm code. I've gotten about 2 weeks worth of driving in the past 5 months, it's been in the shop the whole rest of the time.

    Then install team viewer and find the right person, all of a sudden you can eliminate half your sensors on a 871, have up to 650hp -by request-, and increase fuel mileage. 871s are honestly the best isx built, durability wise. They just take a few small "adjustments"

    I'm a firm believer in a man doing what's best for his business. But I see and hear several things wrong with this Pete. #1 Not your fault. Never add anything to the fluids to stop/prevent leaks. #2 I didn't see an APU. Can't say with 100% certainty. But idle time will destroy a one box, and cause a ton of emissions problems. #3 Sounds like the previous driver had too much pride in his ride. And probably had that engine pressure washed often. The new engines need low pressure steam cleaning, to prevent sensor shorts. Low water sensor is usually one of the first to die, and often. Nothing wrong with an emissions truck. If maintained properly.

    @@truckerstyleshawn Wow! Im sorry for your problems with the after treatment system, by no means do I like the emission systems on perfectly running diesel motors, but as you and I know we're probably going to be stuck with them?. Like most people someone is just making money off our industry like they did the car industry! But that's my personal feelings. I still have a question about the truck did you have any water lose during this time on the EGR system??? If so the EGR cooler was most likely bad with small leak, and or creak in it which most likely effected EGR valve which I believe lead to all your problems on the truck?? Just curious??? Almost forgot? Have you installed oil filtration by pass system on your trucks?? They help remove soot and soot packing conditions which helps elevate some of our issues on the trucks we encounter...

  • @truckerstyleshawn

    @truckerstyleshawn

    3 жыл бұрын

    No water loss and I did change the egr cooler as well. It turned out both the block and head where cracked when I purchased the truck. I found that out when I pulled the engine to do a rebuild the machine shop I take my engines to informed me the both are trash and someone used some of that liquid head gasket sealant and it filled in most of the cracks temporarily. I ended up buying a new engine to put in the truck.

    Great Video!! I have been an owner operator since 1996 and at one time I was I running a fleet of 8 Including my own. I have bought numerous trailers and had my own authority. Why did I tell you all this? The Peterbilt you owned was a repo, and repo trucks have bad karma. In 2002 I bought 4 repo refrigerated trailers. These were all 48/102 with the old thermo kings very loud. All these trailers ended up with insane drivers, wrecks, overweight issues. At one point our Insurance was going to be cancelled for too many claims. I called my grand mother in Africa and told her the story, and she said she would find out why all the problems. This is what my Grandma found out from 15,000 miles away. Here is the story. The guy who Initially owned the trailers, had lost his son in a car accident and was paid a good amount of money which he used to start his trucking business. He later started cheating on his wife and they got divorced and his dead son destroyed his Dad’s company from the Amenta. Buying these trailers was very bad judgment on my part m, and I almost lost my company as a result. I thank my grandma as she caught this in time, and fixed it. Stay away from repos. They have terrible karma.
