It sounds like there are a bunch of people who abused Montgomery who could also use the death penalty.

Pronounced dead at 1:31am. While I cannot excuse what she did, what happened to her as a child is heart breaking and I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.

Another podcast covered this and mentioned how so many people knew what was happening to Lisa and nobody ever cared to help. Her mother is a true monster that made her insane.

Why do so many mothers protect their husbands over their daughters? I’ll never understand.

It doesn’t excuse what she did but man what a messed up childhood she had...

It is tragic that her brain had probably noted that people treated her nicer when she was pregnant or just birthed a baby. That's probably why she kept lying about being pregnant and what her motive was.

How can a person be expected to become a productive, successful and mentally balanced individual when they have that kind of start in life?

It’s completely ridiculous that complex ptsd isn’t in the DSM 5

One thing I've learned from your show-- if you are a parent, be the absolute

I can't even imagine being attacked, strangled and choked until passing out, only to be awakened, with your very pregnant belly already being cut into. Not just the physical pain and shock at witnessing such violence, but knowing and seeing someone stealing your unborn child from the one place its supposed to be the safest.

Hearing what Montgomery went through breaks my heart even though doesn't excuse what she did. Honestly, she deserved to pay for what she did. I have to remind myself that other people had the same sort of terrible things happen to them and don't resort to killing innocent women and stealing infants from their bodies.

My God, what a precious little girl she was and such a very sad, torturous existence she lived through. It does not give her a free pass from what she did but it certainly makes this whole story a tragedy. She needed mental help so badly and if she'd received it, I truly wonder if this would have happened.

I'm amazed that the baby managed to survive this twisted mockery of a C section by an untrained murderer with no anesthesia

What she did was horrible and unforgiving. I was shocked and sad by the way she was raised though.. I wonder if her parents / stepfather and friends went to jail for abusing her and her sister.

She may not have been born evil, but she definitely became that way.

I remember this case so well and have followed the case over the years. There are many women who can’t have kids due to infertility issues, myself included, who would never even entertain such an horrific act against a woman and her unborn child. I felt so sad for her husband and mother who found her child in such a state. And baby Victoria’s birthday will always be a reminder of that horrific day.

I’ve heard about this case so many times, but this is the first time I heard about her childhood. It doesn’t excuse her actions, but it just goes to show hurt people, hurt people. This was a tragedy all around.
