Really hope to Garruk come back, he's been gone for such a long time

I was wondering why Garruk wasn't on Ravnica for War of the Spark. I didn't know the Planar Beacon could be used to block out specific Walkers from it's effects, but damn if it wouldn't be funny to see Garruk put a wrench in Bolas's plans. 😂

Garruk isn't quite as powerful as the Elder Dragon. We don't know if his curse would protect him from his spark being harvested, or if he'd be as vulnerable as any other Planeswalker during the war, but it's all speculation at this point.

@@cordedquill4286 I don't think Garruk could defeat Bolas or even come close to his power. However, if Garruk murked enough PWs during WAR before Bolas could harvest their sparks, it would still wreck Bolas' plans.

I definitely missed a lot of what happened on eldraine; I know he became kind of a surrogate father to the twins, and that they had a good relationship. But I wasn’t really sure as to how. This video explained how, and was great as always!

I still think it is a missed oportunity that he wasn't in the Phyrexian Storyline. He would have been the perfect opponent for Vorinclex and it would have been a better end for vorinclex then what we actually got.

The fact that they left Garruk out of Ikoria, hunting the Praetors, and Wilds of Eldraine has been slowly pissing me off.

Done the most dirty of all the Lorwyn Five. Was once at a tournament where someone very strongly insisted that his name is pronounced 'Gair-Ruuk'. Always pleasant to be around Magic players in the Wild.

Garruk is one of my favorite planeswalkers I’m psyched you made this. Love the channel!

How war of the spark ended & everything after that shows that the story writers don’t care anymore. Everything falls flat.

I don't get how things are supposed to be so simple, a good amount of the authors they acquired for say Neon Dynasty and All Will Be One evidently do care and are more than willing to take the characters down compelling paths. What's missing is direction on a larger scale, it feels like for each set you end up with a handful of good short stories another handful of inoffensive ones and the occasional stinker, sadly nothing that rekindles one's hopes for MtG's narrative.

WhT we need is is two-three block sets again. These one set visits can’t and doesn’t have the same impact story wise.

Where is Garruk, wizards?! Release him from the dungeon of the lost characters! It kinda worked with Koth the last time, it's not that difficult.

We can't have "toxic" masculinity. They just didn't eliminate him entirely because he's popular.

Garruk has always been my favorite, and my hatred of Liliana became my least favorite the moment she cursed him. I wanted him to get vengence, even if he was the "antagonist" but then... he just got better and not ever used effectively(or ever). I desperately desire a world where he was never usurped by Nissa as "The" green Planeswalker for a number of years.

I've been waiting for this video. I'm glad you were able to get to it. You cover so much different material nowadays. Awesome Lorebrarians, thank you so much I'm sure many will enjoy. Keep up the good work brother.

Even after 15 years, Garruk Relentless is still my favorite Magic card of all time. A fascinating implementation of the transform mechanic, combined with the compelling story of a man being subsumed by dark impulses that may not be his own. It's the same reason why I love the story of Spider-Man's Black Suit.

This man used to be on ALL of the marketing material for MTG at one point. Now the writers have basically written him out of existence because they literally just forgot about him.

Garruk is one of my top 3 favorite planswalkers of all time. One of the many reasons is because he’s left handed

I wiah they would show garruk in Jund colors. I feel as though if he had lost his spark and traveling through omen paths and hope would end up on Alara battle Mayael the Anima and her beasts. Tbh i wish we just saw this character more often any story line with him woulf be cool

It'd be neat to see him join up with Tezzeret and some other Walkers to form a sort-of Legion of Doom to take the Gatewatch down a peg.

Hmm did they write themselves into a corner with Garruk's corruption? There were worlds he would have been perfect for but he beat everyone he came across and the base power imbalance between the 5, he was able to smash through Jace and Liliana (the opposite colors admittedly but this isn't pokemon like) and at that point did they realize they'd written their Best Boy Jace (that's a joke) too weak? Liliana's powers are only getting weaker (though her characterization is getting stronger as "Black Mana = Evil" is being actively worked against as time goes on). I mean when he finds Liliana she won't be any match for him as he can easily overpower her like he did before and the only reasons she was able to fight back was a) the Veil and b) Innistrad, which were crutches for her even after her pact with the demons. I sense they realised he'd been too powerful and sort of floundered with how to use him. Which is a pity I was hoping he'd crop up again - they sort of replaced him with Nissa or Vivian for a while - - curious to see where they go with him next, maybe they will try tap into a side of him that resists violence more and perhaps strives to find harmony and balance.... Or just another killing Spree
