You know, I think number 4 could be a really effective strategy. Cause imagine being taught that Sith would attempt to attack and kill you at any cost, and when you meet the one known as Darth Vectivus, he doesn’t try to kill you, he just sits down and try’s to convince you which is the better deal. It would probably mess with you a bit in the head. Cause this goes against those teachings. Making you doubt them, cause if these enemies are not as hostile as you were taught. How do you know the rest aren’t exaggerated as well?

@G G Well yes, however Jedi have rules, and regulations to uphold. Also while they have done a lot of good for the galaxy, their being in the public eye more often unlike the sith, leaves them more unfairly viewed as corrupt by most citizens who want someone to blame for tragedy, this isn't my words either its expressed throughout Star Wars lore, at least Legends Anyway. As a result even if they wanted to go into business, they'd not only avoid using their powers against a customer, or the market, but they'd likely not get much business anyway.

Only used the dark side because that’s all he knew from the Dark Side Force Nexus, and the Jedi wouldn’t allow him to do this because they’d think he would turn evil and get power hungry and would try to kill him. The Jedi order seems to not have been all that great in the end. Some Jedi Orders in the past were good and just, but the one Anakin and the 501st Clones wiped out really just sucked on many levels.

Brendan Akers True. He was more knowledgeable of the dark side, but only because he met a Sith before he met a Jedi. That and it was a Dark Side Nexus, instead of a light one. So yeah, more Grey Jedi or “Grey Sith” than anything else. Unfortunately, the Jedi would still cast him out or try to kill him because they’d say that he was “an agent of the dark side” or something. I think I’d end up like him if I could, really. Just use the force, whether light or dark, and help others and gain knowledge of my powers and the force and the galaxy. He died technically more fulfilled than most other Jedi and Sith in the end. Friends, family, businesses that gave billions people jobs across the galaxy, and a legacy of a good man.

John Morgan Yeah, pretty much. The order was stagnant, highly hypocritical, and truly arrogant on so many levels. Anakin’s job as chosen one was to reset everything and fix it. He had to destroy the old order in order for another, better one to take its place some time later down the line with Luke. Destroyed the Jedi, then the Sith. Anakin was the Force’s way of pressing the galactic reset button.

Technically, the way of the Sith is that of passion. Nowhere does it say that any sith needs to be evil. It's simply happenstance that temptation through the dark side can lead to evil acts.

He's somehow more interesting than any other Sith I've heard of so far. I would actually like a whole book about his life, detailing how he viewed his existence, the Sith philosophy, the Force and the future.

Just as the Jedi had those that had walked the dark side that learned from it while not turning, I had believed there was an opposite side to the coin. I had wondered if there had been a Sith that grew from the knowledge of the dark side without harming others out of malice. I was told there could be none. Now I know I was correct. There must be opposition in all things. He must have been an amazing man to be able to do such a thing. A story truly worth knowing. His knowledge technically could be an advantage to either side.

Sounds like one of the few to actually find balance within the Force. If you think about it, only the Grey's had it right but it seems only Vectivus actually put it into successful practice.

The Key components to his (Vectivus) success..? was two-fold: 1) As a capable businessman, he was both rational, and level headed. Discipline & Control (as ANY ~truly~ successful businessman will tell you, is BEYOND critical - Greed & Stupidity often go hand in hand w/failure, after all) was something neither the Jedi nor the Sith actively sought in their recruits - just Force potential. Not. Smart. The 2nd (and this is, IMHO) the *REALLY* critical factor, is that Vectivus..? wasn't some pre-teen kid. He was a grown man, who'd lived a full & proper life! No "deprivations" or having to "overcome" (like it's THAT simple!) childhood traumas that seemed to be all to common in both Sith & Jedi recruits. (always thought it was the height of utter arrogance and stupidity to go telling former slaves, especially Sex Slaves like the Twilecks and the Torgruta to address their mentors as *Master* ... that's not just asking for trouble - that's BEGGING for it!) Discipline & Control along with Emotional Stability - or as I like to put it..? Proper Potty training! if *EITHER* side had actively cultivated such things..? then we wouldn't have the Soap Opera that is the Jedi/Sith war. (oh, we'd still have war - it's peace that's an accident!) Piss on Darths' Traya and Plagueis, it's Darth Vectivus that should hold the honored title of "The Wise..." Beyond even that..? Good & Evil, like *ANY* "moral dilemma" is subjective... Clarity of thought along with Rational action are absolute...

I would like to add to your wonderful points is this what makes things good or evil? The gun, the knife, or any weapon or the person who wields it? The light side or the dark side can both destroy or create and it's environment and surroundings just like fire and water can create or destroy.

this comment section is awesome, my mom's friend from the military whom married her sister, my aunt, got me into star wars at a very young age, about 4 or 5. anything to do with star wars brings me back to my childhood, and I love it and Star Wars.

I like this sith, he had unimaginable power, could destroy and bring darkness to the galaxy and rule it, but no. He wanted to teach, he wanted to create something bigger then himself. To unite, that is a goal the jedi did not achieve.

well, the video didn't imply the "uniting" part. He simply wanted to learn, gain power, guide the sith (did harm passively maybe ¯\_(°-°)_/¯ ) live as a business man. He didn't actively participate in any uniting or destroying a community. Plus the video didn't told how powerful or weak he was.

Exactly why I hate the jedi so much...they talk about 'balance' but have no #@$#@ clue what it means... You have to be able to balance on a razors edge between light and dark... hold the sword of death in one hand and the bindings of peace in the other... always being ready to dish out death when peace isn't an option... never giving into the desire for destruction... smh...

@Chara That's always been canon according to Lucas though. He said himself balance did not mean dark and light being equal, as the darkside was considered the "inbalance" and cancer of the Force. Which is why every single Force user who tried to use both either turned into hermits because of their struggle to maintain their sense of self, or went full out darkside. The "balance of the Force" is one of the most misunderstood parts of Star Wars in the entire fandom. It's nothing to do with using both sides, or there being equal Sith to Jedi, or anything like that. But the balance is another way of saying "stability", of which is the Force (also called the light) without corruption of the imbalanced and destructive darkness of what is the Darkside. The flaw of the Jedi (at least the Odan Urr Jedi, aka the prequel type Jedi) is that they associated normal every day emotions, such as love, romance, attachment and so on with "the Darkside", when that was not true. As the earliest Jedi fully allowed relationships and all emotions, just as long as they didn't actually make use of their emotions to tap into the Darkside of the Force and its power. But the Jedi after Odan Urr became paranoid, and changed the Jedi code to ban all emotions, because they saw the allowance of them being "too risky" and too much of a temptation that could "lead to the Darkside". This ironically made them afraid of their own natural emotions, leading many of them to be unloving, apathetic, disconnected from the galaxy, and dead to the Force, and thus also easily blinded by the Darkside, as they were with Palpatine. Though bad writing in part is to blame for this misunderstanding as well, as Lucas didn't make himself clear in the prequel movies when he first introduced the concept, but he made himself clear on what he meant in interviews and such.

I love this story and how this man sought knowledge through the dark side. Since the jedi talk about knowledge a lot, why not learn more of the dark side to expand one's knowledge of The Force?

His story would be great for a one-shot comic at least or his own series like the Darth Vader series so more can hear the story of a Sith that wasn't a massive asshole or evil monster. This proves that even a Sith can go through their path in life with honor and fairness.
