It’s difficult for me to watch this without getting upset. I grew up in Hawaii and understand why they never taught us this in history classes. They refer to it as “annexation”, but what happened to Hawaii is pure thievery. 😢

I would also like to see the treaty. The Hawaiians were not consulted and the US went on to take the Philippines, Cuba, Puerto Rico. Many of the troubles currently can be traced back to allowing the US to get away with overthrowing the popular monarch, hiding the Ku'e petitions and imprisoning the queen for 9 months in her bedroom in the palace. Everyone who spends any time in Honoulu should take an afternoon and go to the Iolani Palace. The docents are prepared to tell you this story and help you understand why it is important for you to know. Oakland CA

This book i read when it first was published, it is the best literature i came across that goes in great depth and detail within the history of how the kingdom of Hawai'i was "corruptly" overthrown by touching base on the Oligarchy. This book is court documented.

The title of this "Nation within annexation of Hawai'i" comes from Tom Coffman's book which now has an updated title page... that now states, Nation Within The history of the American Occupation of Hawai'i". KZread why he changed the name and you will find that he said I am prompted to change the name with a growing work of Hawaiian scholars that point out annexation of the Hawaiian islands could not have been ceded to the United States by a joint resolution. That Hawai'i is indeed a sovereign country, just one that is occupied.

According to Google the mongoose was introduced to Hawaii in 1893 but I believe it was earlier they were called: missionaries and the alaka’i was Thurston and Dole the traitor.

Hawaii is occupied never annexed. The anti annexation petitions defeat the treaty.
