Hawaii: Stolen Paradise

Ойын-сауық

Hawaii was a recognized independent nation prior to January 17, 1893. On that day, the nation and government was illegally overthrown by the United States. Since then, the USA has illegally assumed control over Hawaii turning the islands into Military Bases that threaten world peace.
The United States claims that Hawaii was lawfully annexed as the 50th State.
What would you think when you find out that is Not True! In fact the United States government signed a Joint Resolution of the Congress in 1993 that “acknowledges that the overthrow of the Kingdom of Hawaii occurred with the active participation of agents and citizens of the United States and further acknowledges that the Native Hawaiian people never directly relinquished to the United States their claims to their inherent sovereignty as a people over their national lands, either through the Kingdom of Hawaii or through a plebiscite or referendum"

The problem is the economics and economically the United States is not so much a government as it is a business make sure your new government keeps this consideration in mind, the best of luck.🎉 God loves Hawaii❤

As a Māori from Aotearoa NZ, it seriously angers me what happened to Hawai’i and how it’s like for kānaka maoli (native Hawaiians). The homelessness, poverty, over-working to survive and the tourism of all the people going and even moving there. They’re all rich too. My heart goes out to all the natives and natives only, I’m so sorry for what happened and continues to happen. In a kind and fair world, it never would have. Hawai’i will always belong to the natives. You may buy their land and their houses whilst they live in tents or leave, you may live there while they struggle to survive, but you will never ever belong there. If you are not native Hawaiian, it is not your STOLEN COUNTRY to claim. I don’t care if your grandparents moved there and you were born there, you still don’t belong there.

Not so much. ..and ESPECIALLY now after the fires. It's actually a pretty mainstream opinion that fires were a land grab conspiracy. The _real_ problem is that most locals and natives are completely uninvolved in local politics. We have a super low voter turnout and the few people who do actually vote are old white people who vote for a full Democrat ticket every single time. ..which is why we CONSTANTLY have politicians getting busted for corruption out here. Were you talking to actual Hawaiians or just people who live in Hawaii? ..because that's two entirely different things. As far as the last 3 years - yeah, most people complied with the mandates. ..but I didn't. I refused to wear a mask in my place of business and literally only two people ever even said anything negative to me about it the entire time. It's not like California, where people go insane and assault you. Here, people either said nothing to me or they said "Oooh! Can I take mine off too?". The people who were really trusting the government and _joyfully_ following all the mandates were old white liberals - just like everywhere else. Lol Most people here just did it because people do what they're told. ..though to be fair, I live on Big Island, which is way more laid back than Oahu or Maui.

As a former resident of the Big Island, I learned all of this Hawaiian history AFTER I moved there. None of this was ever taught in mainland US History classes. When I taught a video journalism class at Waiakea High School in the 90's, my students covered important stories similar to this one. The Hawaiian people and Nation are owed more than an apology for what the US government has done since 1893. As an aside, President Grover Cleveland opposed the actions of Sanford Dole and the businessmen who overthrew Queen Liliokalani. However he lost an election and his successor, McKingly gave the green light to.annex The Hawaiian Nation.

This is not an easy situation for the Polynesians on these islands at all. Its not all lost though. Some words on economy: these islands are in the middle of California, Panama, China, Japan and South Corea. Back in the days when Europe was the main market in the world, these islands were super remote for business, yet in the now, they are on a very central location. From an economic POV, I dont think autonomy would be a disaster at all. You'd get control over immigration. This is crucial for not seeing the position for Polynesians to become even worse.

I’d say the horror that is now Hawaii really started with the first European boot on the beach. Colonization was horrific, and I’m sorry for it…but it is well past time to heal. The world can’t communicate effectively without anger and war. It is influenced by cultural backgrounds, the way someone was raised, their gender, their temperament, and much more. For that reason, we may say one thing but the other person hears something completely different. Misunderstandings inevitably lead to frustration and problems. When I think about Hawaii, its not of a Paradise. I think of diabetes, obesity, laziness, welfare, handouts. I personally feel Hawaii is a strain on the US economically and financially as they provide nothing in return and rely solely on tourism and FED handouts. 90 percent of their goods are shipped in via MATSON and other shipping companies. There are some nice places there so its worth a one time visit. My work took me there lots more times than I desired over the years and you get tired of the fire dances and luaus and hearing WOE IS ME from those living in section 8 funded housing and of off US WIC and EBT payments. Perhaps if I was only a tourist and not seen what lies beneath the real Hawaii my thoughts would be of paradise. Give it back and have them start paying for any services rendered..🇺🇸🍻✌🏻

Hawaii already has it's Own Gov't... It's called the "State of Hawaii" for a reason. The USA did NOT overthrow the Kingdom of Hawaii, it was taken over by the Cabinet Ministers & Administers appointed by the Monarchy of Hawaii. These were mostly white men that had renounced their US Citizenship and were legal non-native, naturalized Citizens of the Hawaiian Kingdom. The FACT is, the Kingdom of Hawaii was overthrown by an internal bloodless coup, that resulted in the formation of the 'Provisional Government' (PG) that founded the "Republic of Hawaii" to replace a minority caste system of Kings & Queens and privileged royal cousins, that lived a very good life while the majority peasants were poor basically share croppers. The US supported the independent PG and was, and always has been, dedicated to free and independent government. The US did NOT take any land, it was all purchased from greedy & corrupt royal family land-owners that gladly sold land that was given to them for immediate monetary gains. Hawaii was a target for occupation by France, Spain, Japan and was even taken over by England in 1840, for 5 months. The King traded Pearl Harbor to Export Sugar Tax-Free, to gain an unfair advantage and become mega-rich from plantation slavery kick-backs. The Monarchy lost their Kingdom.

If the U.S. were to give Hawai'i its independence and totally ignore it, then Hawai'i would be screwed for the next few generations. Instead of being the richest islands in the South Pacific, Hawai'i would turn into just another impoverished islands in the South Pacific just like many other islands: Northern Marianas, Tonga, Samoa etc., and Guam would emerge to take the top spot, because of the American presence on the island. As of 2019, the military (and its contractors) was the 2nd largest industry in the state, which accounted for about 19% of the local economy (Tourism was # 1 at about 23%). That would be a big chunk of money that the new kingdom would lose. Presently, the great majority of pure and/or part Hawai'ians do not know how to farm, do not know how to hunt (not enough wildlife to hunt anyway), and do not know how to manufacture anything. And if the new Kingdom of Hawai'i were to start the commercial fishing industry, then sooner or later, it will get into territorial disputes with other nations such as Japan, China, Russia, Mexico, and the U.S. And Hawai'i cannot protect itself in this modern time. You should go look at an example in Zimbabwe, which was once, nicknamed the Breadbasket of Africa; but now, it is the Famine of Africa. And in my opinion, average Hawai'ians, while nicer than the average mainlanders, but tend to be lazier & are quite uneducated. Perhaps, they have gotten so used to all of the subsidies (crumps) that the government have been given them over the past several decades. Without the U.S. protection and without having a strong government, most foreign investors would be too scared to pour money to invest in a re-emerging nation. The only nation that may offer to help the new kingdom would be China; but the CCP would want something in return. And since Hawai'i does not have any resources to give China, it may have to give up its most valuable asset, the strategic location in the middle of the Pacific (meaning that the CCP would want to take over the base at Pearl Harbor). You can also look up the story about the Hambantota Internation Port in Sri Lanka. When it comes to tourism, Waikiki may survive, but outside of that area, everything else would just crumble. Go look at the Caribbean Islands/Virgin Islands, where they have a small touristy spot that is surrounded by extreme poverty (St. Thomas, St. Croix, St. Martin/Marteen etc.). Many of the American tourists will not want to come to Hawai'i, if they had to get the passport/visa just to visit the islands. If Hawai'i were to become independence, then the royalties and the elites would just grab up valuable lands; do you really think that they would care much about the poor Hawai'ians? And without the welfare system from the government, those poor Hawai'ians would be in even worse $hit than they already are. There are many examples of the rich do not care about the poor, regardless of race/color, all over the world and all throughout the history the world. Quite a few local Hawai'ians are already complaining about the Kamehameha School and the Bishop Estate about how they are just "for-profit" businesses that does not care much about the Hawai'ians (they only care about the Hawai'ian elites).

It was stolen land. Did you have any evidence that proves that they originated from Asia? Did you or anyone you know saw them when they came from Asia and settled in Hawaii? The answer is NO. Also, Native Americans were here when your ancestors came. They welcomed your ancestors as visitors and treated them largely well before your evil ancestors turned on them. Hawaiians were already living there when your ancestors came from Europe to kill Native Americans in their own land and then from there to Hawaii. No one has gone to Europe to claim that white Europeans come from hell or heaven, therefore, they don't own the lands in Europe.

This was a Conquest by a nation rising, and a more technologically, advanced and energetic population that was advancing. The Hawaiian people lived a primitive, hunter gatherer and subsistence agricultural life. They could not withstand an advancing technological nation that desired their land. This is the way humanity has worked since the beginning of time. It is completely unreasonable to believe that the US is going to handover this land that has trillions of dollars of investment and infrastructure. 😂
