@@suesally2103 Spot on! If you never learn the significance of things, events and people, you will never endevour to preserve them. Also, it takes a hell of a lot of money - $13M is a lot of money for little interest. Sadly it is all moot. This place burnt, then was raised.

@@rrich52806 Oddly I was up that way yesterday looking for Crown Candy. I thought I would cruise around a little to check it out, see the old streets and houses, along with the water towers. I don't know much about the current state of the N. Side, not having been up that way since the GM plant closed, but do know it's glorious history....you can see it in all the beautiful, old crumbling churches that dot most corners up there. It was shocking, depressing, and frankly made me a little angry that the residents of that community allowed this to happen. Oh well.

Like this is starting to become a public issue bcuz St Louis is known for our beautiful brick homes, we cannot tear them down & put up those cheap homes with the siding bcuz after years go by, it WILL take away from the look & feel of the city...

@@jamie49868 Young people today are indoctrinated, and not educated. They teach a narrow curriculum of what happened, but not why. They currently have access to World knowledge in their hand, the smart phone, but are not interested. Perhaps they want to live on the Marxist Matriarch Plantation, the way Indians live on the Reservations. Alexander Solzhenitsyn has works banned in the U.S. because they state that Marxist **** were responsible for the deaths of 60 million Russians during Soviet rule, which continued to Marxist China and the deaths of over 30 million from starvation just during the years 1959 to 1961. The Marxist **** (80% of German communist party leadership) and Nazis rioted in pre WW II Germany, and the Nazis won that confrontation. Both sides were awful, and yet in the U.S. all we ever hear is the ****** "Narrative" of 6 million, not why it happened, and not the sterilization of African refugees in I****l, so that I****l can maintain its culture without diversity, yet Mossad educated Mandela in terrorist techniques to take South Africa. All of us are probably made up of several "Narratives". Go down every rabbit-hole, and learn all sides of an issue. Be prepared by knowing what the opposition is thinking. Ask yourself who is financing the social disruption in the U.S. today. Go behind the puppet politicians and rioters, and look for the financiers with a high level of sociopathic thinking.

They mention the McKee Group or something in this video. The head guy “was” buying HUNDREDS of the North City homes and had something like 150-200 million set aside to revitalize the area. Word got out and then people wanted 100-150k for a house that was 2-3 years behind on taxes + not worthy of $5000 or livable. Group tried eminent domain route and city shot him down. Something like that. Just crazy.

After 2nd day of plumbers being there, house was broken into and they were “upset” there wasn’t any copper so they busted EVERY new window. Yeah, he was going to make some money as well of course. It was a true “win win” for everyone involved. He even hired couple neighborhood “old timers” to just pick up trash around the houses. Nice old guys that just sat around and told “lies” (having fun!) and we’re happy to pick up stuff 2-4 hours a day for $60-$70 cash. Man did they have some stories and were funny! They were visibly upset after seeing what happened in their own neighborhood. Like somebody blew out the last candle on their cake.

I suppose his wife was related to John Mullanphy, Missouri's first millionaire. His estate was Taille de Noyer in Florissant. It was his cotton on the docks of New Orleans that served as a barricade for the Americans in the Battle of New Orleans, War of 1812. I teased a colleague from Louisiana about all those fancy wrought iron balconies that you are going on about were made in St. Louis and shipped south, because that is true.

Ive recently been looking at google maps street views and its amazing how you can scroll down a neighborhood full of homes (mostly abandoned) and then the next frame its all just empty fields (going from an older photographed street to a more recently photographed street).
