It's rare nowadays because of demand and because of the expertise required. Things are mass produced now and those craftsman are rare. It makes maintaining a house such as this so expensive because the parts are special made as they are no longer produced. If they are it is a very niche market. This house is stunning and I would love to live in a such a place. Maybe I would update the garden as well (avid gardener here). However, I have a beautiful garden I wouldn't like to part with where I live so...XD leave it for someone else.

@@Rinsuki it’s the cost, and the fact that the masses don’t have access to the good lumber required, either. In fact, that kind of wood needs to be purchased salvaged, usually and can be difficult to find. Remodelers in the 1920s, 30s and 40s salvaged building materials, but more current remodelers did not. So many old homes are still being torn down. It’s the cost to save it vs the demand and willingness to invest the only non renewable resource-time- and sometimes ignorance plays a part.

I guess all I can say is please feel very sorry for me as I cook on my Thermador cooktop and bake in my Kitchen Aid convection ovens...This kitchen is nicer than many modern kitchens, and ALL modern tract home kitchens if we are comparing...and yes it is more modern, obviously - but we are not living history re-creationists either! If the home was restored to the original design, you must go OUTside to even access the kitchen and I have toured enough actual Victorian kitchens to be very glad this one was modernized. :)
That kitchen needs to be completely gutted and the floating fireplace needs to go. Also the carpet upstairs needs to be removed. But $179,000 is dirt cheap so a lot could be done to fix the place up.

For reals! There’s some beautiful Victorians in the Angeleno Heights neighborhood in LA. I was expecting a $2 mil price tag. But wow $179k, I’m shook!

That house would be $3-$4 million in Sacramento. San Francisco, the few that are that size, would be more like $10-$15 😮 (IF they even hit the market, which they WOULDN'T due to foreign investors with cash offers, that would be the first to know!) Rest of the Bay Area, hard to say. Especially East Oakland!

WOW! Stunning Home! So Glad it Sold. I'm sure the buyer will Love EVERY moment of living there. That attic though....larger than my entire house!!
I love the high ceilings, it makes a home so much more glamorous and spacious.
Wow, this is a masterpiece in every way. The detailing and care is unmatched in any new build you will find today.
I don't know how long you have been hosting videos but your fantastic. Your delivery is natural and engaging. The house is amazing and so much fun through your eyes.

Omg! How beautiful! I am a Queen Anne fanatic. That is an excellent price for that victorian beauty. So very beautiful! Just stunning! Who ever buys her is getting a bargain. God bless
My cousin In-laws own a Funeral home that's look like that home in New Hampshire an they also live in the home. That's why i promised myself that I'll never buy a home that was own by other people bcuz you'll never no the history of the home. I love watching my home being build from scratch is very rewarding to me, and i can sleep gracefully cuz don't have to wonder what happened with the previous owner. I knew many people still liked to live in an older home but it just not for me. But i love watching remodeling an the reaction of the new owners faces when the see the finished works owesome.💕👌

I was floored by that price! Congrats to whomever was fortunate enough to buy that glorious gem of a home. I would feel like I was in a fairy tale if it were mine. I'd probably just zone out all day staring at the fireplaces taking in their beauty. If I were presented with such an opportunity near where I live I think I'd sell my current home without hesitating to live in something so wonderful.

You have to be kidding!! $179,000........Oh! Lord........that's beyond amazing~
What a dream! The wood and fireplaces take my breath away. Absolutely ❤️
This is literally my dream home 🥺
Oh Elaine this is wonderful, and it's in the south!!! I love the southern part of these great United States, and you do this home justice with your wonderful enthusiasm! Great bones!
I've always wondered what the inside looks like. It's so unique on the outside. Thanks for this video.

Certainly a stunning home and garden setting. Maintaining these beautiful homes is costly...heating (those oil radiators have to run in low temperatures in order to not freeze the pipes...we paid $600-$700 per month (Canadian dollars) to mention but one cost that is often overlooked with the excitement and emotional rush of all that beauty...it appears to be a happy home that deserves to be well looked after by a happy family:-)

Definitely my dream home. I was excited about the entryway alone lol. The whole home is stunning
Beautiful deal. I really believe the original purpose of the room to the right of the entry is the parlor, through to the library-they often had pocket doors to draw-thus all the shelves, low light over a low table; the dining room is the one adjacent to the kitchen with the swinging door for serving. The fireplaces are fabulous.

I think you are correct and it is now this way again, the room to the right is a parlour, then leading to an office-library, with the dining room on the left side, leading into the kitchen. That flow works well for us.
I enjoyed the way you showed all of the rooms and pointed out all of the details. Thank you!!!
This house is gorgeous. It reminds me of Steven and Tabitha Kings home in Bangor ME. I used to live a street over from him and I never got tired of seeing his house. These old houses have so much character.

What an amazing house and the price is unbelievable. Just beautiful!
Wow. That is a beautiful home that has been loved and remains in brilliant condition. Has so much character. Thought it looked a bit spooky at first but soon changed my mind. Far too airy and bright once you got inside. I hope the new owners respect the wealth of original features. Sending best wishes from the UK
STUNNING!!! THE PRICE IS GREAT. All those fire places. Just STUNNING. Liked the presentation. A Dream House

OMG I’M IN LOVE WITH THIS HOUSE!!! Unlucky in Italy we don’t have this kind of architecture, that period style was pretty different over here!
Amazing home!!!! And the price 😊. Thank you for the excellent tour!
The space between houses is my favorite. Great price for what is offered. Love old houses
It's beautiful. Excellent job. All of these homes should be treated with respect and dignity.
That price for a house in that condition is insanely good!
OMG this is my dream home. I live in Boston and for the price I would love to pack up and head there! Something like this would easily go for 2-4M here. Gorgeous!
Wow! If the beauty and enchanting nature of the house wasn’t enough the price certainly is enough to at least think about buying it. I’d love to live in that house ! I’m amazed at how well kept it is.
OMG I wish I'd seen this 2 months ago! We would've bought sight unseen in person.... SO special😍
I love that every room is different but they all tie together nicely
This gorgeous Queen Anne home was featured in the book "America's Painted Ladies." It received mixed reactions when it was given it's current polychrome paint scheme. It is absolutely stunning inside and out. Clearly the historically accurate colors grew on people.

We love her colors, they are distinctive enough to stand out, 8 in number, but also soft and natural enough not to steal attention ALL from the magnificent grounds and natural features of the property so I think it is a lovely balance.
