4:48 this part is close to home for me as I've just experienced the loss of my father. Your messages were a great consolation to me. Thanks Ryan.
Just wanted to express my personal gratitude for there pills you share in this channel and for all the work you do with Robert Greene Tim Ferris and all the other writers, seeing you guys work together gives me a lot of hope in the very competitive environment that I live in 🙏
Thanks for sharing your great experience and sensitivity with us.
I read "what makes Sammy run" based on your recommendation while back and it changed my life.. thank you for propelling me to better journey, only love Ryan!
I'm hoping to get Letters in the future but will definitely look into his other 2 works that you mentioned as well. Thanks for the video.
Loved this video, subscribed and will definitely buy those books asap 👍 thanks!
This is the video I was searching for. Great
Great to see some books on this list that have been recently published. The more Stoic classics make their way into the world, the better the world will be.
Really great books, a lot of them helped me
It'd be great if you did the same video for 12 must-read books but outside of the stoic philosophy

Thank you for this. I'm fairly new to stoicism. I've watched several videos but would prefer reading books. I find it humorous that I have to listen to you talk about meditations and stuff at .75 speed. 😅 And maybe I'm just old, but I find the constantly changing video, (editing cuts?) agitating. In fairness, I also find other channels on stoicism to have annoyances!
philosophy of life and others dangerous situations/ Jules Evans incredible book
Funny you should put this out today, I just started my 3rd read-through of Meditations last night. I'll have to look into some of these.

Thank you, Ryan. Forgive my ignorance, as someone new to Stoicism, in general, but does "The Complete Works: Handbook, Discourses, and Fragments'" include "The Enchiridion"? When I click the link for "The Enchiridion - Epictetus", it brings me to the former. If not, should I read "The Enchiridion" first, and, if so, which translation? Thanks.
How To Think Like A Roman Emperor is excellent, would recommend the audiobook of it too.

I think the most important and relevant philosphy book ever writen is Aristotle's Nichomachean ethics.
Hey rayn, I am not a very long reader but started reading a 6 month ago. I got a question in my mind , what if the writer's view about a particular thing is wrong than it's reality? How could we differentiate that? Please let me know if you have already covered this in any previous videos.... I know I don't have that experience or intelligence to doubt a writer but this question resist me from reading something new and get thoughts like what if this one change my attitude (wrong) towards the problem (if the writer is wrong). Really seek a reply from you. Thanks a lot Sir ❤
Philosophy and life by A.C Grayling is my favourite

Can I order all of these somewhere?
To implement a single advice well is a thousand times better than to know a thousand advises but not imply them. The amount of information in a brain doesn’t make a wise man rather the amount of information practically applied makes a wise man. Also: My recommendations are Bhagwat gita and works of Muhammad Iqbal( Urdu/Persian). You can read the Quran or Guru Granth Sahib Ji if you wish for spiritual and philosophical advice.
Seneca was biggest charlatan in human history and Nero had his number !!

@@rishicr2326 Start with Obstacle is the Way. Daily Stoic is good, but it's supposed to be a daily thing, one nice idea per day. The Obstacle is the Way is an awesome audio book to listen to or book to read right through, and then listen/read again. I have listened to both on Audible and Ryan Holiday narrates Obstacle but not Daily Stoic, and I love his narration

I first read Seneca, unlike other roman stoics, Aurelius and Epictetus he wrote for a public. So he is the easiest to start with. After that I read Marcus Aurelius and then everything of Epictetus (written by one of his students, he didn't write himself). I like Epictetus the most, because he seems to be the most pure to me (coming from slavery and being a poor guy unlike Seneca and Marcus). He also is funny to read because he can rant a bit :)

Take a long walk, 500-2500 miles long walk.
I signed up for his daily email thinking I may get some useful advice for each day, but instead I just get ads to buys his ‘programs’ and coins. It feels pretty gross what he’s doing. Today’s email was about the stoics take on anger, but the only content of the message was an ad for something about anger. It seems like he’s emulating Seneca's hypocrisy. Just another charlatan.
Read the horus heresy instead
Thanks for video but please slow down your talking you speak way too fast and one can miss your suggestions
All these works are very mediocre revolving around mind and thought, Ryan you should read JK Krishnamurthy books and listen to him. I am not against stoicism Ryan but I have read all and applied everything and only thing that work is observing my mind. No hate and no criticism only the real and direct truth.
