    It’s almost more of a vocal improv than an instrumental. I can hear someone scatting the hell out of this solo. He looks like he’s singing it too. Incredible

    Had the honor of seeing these guys play live last year. insanely, talented musicians. Amazing stage presence. The trumpet soloist in this video played probably three or more instruments during the concert, and did amazing on all of them, including a sousaphone lol.

    This is one of my favorite trumpet improv solos I have heard. Normally I don’t like trumpet players tendency to just blast high notes, and he does not fall into the trap. It’s incredibly clean both melodically and rhythmically, and even when it does hit the upper register it is never at the expense of pitch. 10/10

    Love the descending tritones like others mentioned but I really love how he led from his solo right into the horn line seamlessly. Sometimes easy to get lost in a solo and not be thinking about landing the ship so smoothly.
