Another banger mate. You and your bro did awesome. Got home today from doing the Powell/jumbo loop so great to have your vid to relax too. As always, can't wait for the next one. 👍

Thank you! I myself attempted the Powell-Jumbo Loop a few weeks back but couldn't get beyond Powel hut due to weather. Going again soon!

Really enjoyed the video - very professionally done. I’ve just spent 3 months tramping in the lower north island. Now in the UK but returning to NZ late spring. Just a question regarding your videos as I’m totally new to this: I bought a GoPro 12 (same as yours) just before starting my tramping in January. Now I have many hours of clips to edit. What software did you use? You did a great job whatever you used. You must have walked many extra km having to return to the GoPro as you recorded yourselves! What did you use as a tripod? What resolution/frame rate was the GoPro set for? Whew! And you managed a decent distance each day as well. I can’t wait to return to Aotearoa and I’m busy planning. Videos like yours are a great source of ideas so please keep posting them! Thanks Jeff

Thanks for the comment! For this video I used wondershare filmora, which isn't too complex. I have heard capcut is also good. I may move to adobe premiere, but its something like 300-400 dollars a year. The tripod I use for the gopro is a 'Max Grip + tripod' which is a go-pro accessory. It stands about 55cm at its highest but is what I have used for all my recent videos. For GoPro settings I just tent to use the standard 4k 30fps setting, and film usually with the linear lense setting or wide for any first person / pov shots. I don't know a huge amount about the technical side of filming but there are some great guides on Gopro settings out there. Thanks heaps.

@@TheWayfarerNZ Thanks for that advice. Following your recommendation I have just bought the GoPro tripod (you should be on commission!). A bit heavy but seem nice and stable. I think I'll stick with OpenShot editing software for the moment as it is free and very well supported on KZread. I'm new to this but so far it doesn't seem too difficult to use. I've noted your settings too - and as the quality of your videos is excellent I'll stick with them. As a beginner I certainly don't need anything like Adobe Premiere and as you say it's ridiculously expensive (and complex to use). Hopefully you'll find the time to get out there and post more videos to keep me inspired for when I return to NZ in the spring!
