The Sprite is on the rotisserie and its gas tank removed. Bugeye Build Episode 7

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Our '59 Austin Healey Sprite gets mounted on the rotisserie and work starts on the underside. Thanks to my youngest sons who helped with the final lift onto the rotisserie.

Loved the ratchet straps to lift it onto the rotisserie. Unfortunately I don't have anything to hang from on the ceiling of my garage, so I'll have to work out some other way to lift my bugeye -- once I get to that point (which hopefully will be sometime this summer).

It helped having the boys help at the end. I've realized that those straps won't work for lowering it back down. Might just have to manhandle it down. Thanks for watching.

Great idea! I was wondering too how to go about lifting mine onto the stands.

Keep up the good work. Very intimidating, and I like the measured pace and one step at a time. I have one rotisserie, need to rig up a second hopefully I'm not too far behind you, maybe 6 months.

I'm finally ready to mount one of mine on a rotisserie. 2x6 on the rear, bolted through the light wire or mounting holes. How is the front mounted, just a bunch of 2x wood. Ok. I can do that. Also, did you power wash or otherwise prep the front or rear prior to mounting on the rotisserie or will you degrease and prep when the body work is done?

There's a piece of 3/4" plywood between the radiator supports then three pieces of 2x10 sandwiched between that and the plate on the pivot of the former engine stand. I power washed the worst of things out of the engine compartment before mounting the body. I'll be finishing the task sometime in the next six weeks or so (it's April 18 today).
