about the second paradox of the spring'em dead, it's easy. step 1: get quartermaster step 2: springfield compact deadeye combined with springfield marksman does it make sense? no. is it viable? probably not. is it fun to bounce back and forth between two single shot rifles, making sure to always be mobile and changing positions to avoid being caught out? yes. is it funny? also yes.

It’s refreshing to see more analytical Hunt content rather than flashy montages. I just love discussion videos. Keep it up man.

I feel like they only cant buff this weapon because the regular Springfield sniper exists, if it didnt they would have given it way less sway and it would still not be OP. The whole "medium" weapon class aside from the Bow and dual Pistols has this problem of usually just being worse versions of the large guns while the small ones tend to bring something of their own to the table.

i mean... if they were not worse.. why would you pick em? the reason they are worse is because you get the (huge!) advantage of it only being a medium slot sniper... I take this wep because sometimes i have some bad games and want to just spam with dualies. this way i have a gun that can shoot at a fairly long distance. I do have rely on my team mate for it to be effective. but basically i use it as a way to get closer to my target while still being a sort of threat at range. The opposite build to this for me is any vetterli with a hand crossbow. most people think you only got long range, push you and then i kill them with my one tap crossbow!

man this gun is so underrated, and its actually so powerful, one of the best things about it is using the deadeye scope to crack peak. Trust me, you can get insanely easy kills with it! Hoping for FMJ one day!

It is difficult to get right, buuuut this is how I've been killed seven times now and it's been with this exact weapon. I had no way to prepare for it as I was entirely unaware I was being 0'd with it. Overall, it takes some know-how to use for certain but it really works for if someone put the time in to figure out. I can't just pick it up from a corpse and do well with no experience but it is worth it to practice with. I'd take it however if it's simply the compact variant as I am not used to the scope and sway yet.

One thing to keep in mind is that sway pattern is not just tighter, it's completely different when crouching, and much easier to learn to compensate for. Same with the Mosin Obrez, by the way. Sometimes when waiting around for something, like when holding an angle for some reason, I'll just practice holding the cross hair on a certain point. I'm now decent enough at negating the crouching sway that I don't ever take steady hand with it. Though it would be nice to have if I were actually shooting ~200m heads, that's hard enough with a deadeye anyway that I don't see the sway as much of an issue for how I actually play with it, which is mainly for opening up 50-150m ambushes and flanks with a headshot. Of course it really helps that I mostly play duos with my brother whom also likes sniping, so we get a pretty decent amount of duo wipes with a pair of headshots within a second of each other, immediately followed by a meme from "All Ghillied Up", obviously. So yeah, it's a quirky gun with so many limitations that it really requires you to use it a certain way, but I love it all the more for that now that I've found what works with it. It's nice to feel relatively confident at most distances with it, one stack of dumdum, and dual Paxes, Scottfields, or Conversions, considering I can usually run this loadout for less than $100 in guns due to how common dual pistols are on free hunters. Give it a try, but know that it's got a learning curve. You may end up liking it if you're a fan of both sniping and scrimping

@@TheShmrsh I dunno, I take both the Obrez and the Compact Deadeye frequently as a big 2-slot enjoyer, and I've actually had much more success with the Deadeye. Objectively it's worse in any situation where the scope isn't helping, but for me, that scope makes a massive difference in getting headshots at range. The Obrez still does great work for me in compounds, especially with Iron Sharpshooter, but for $46 and a near-instant availability every prestige, and a reserve pool of 24 medium rounds means I end up with a lot more time with the Deadeye. You really have to control your range to take advantage of the scope and your massive ammo reserve (usually 48 for me because I like taking contraband Scots and Paxes with it.) Yes it can be infuriating to miss shots every now and then because the sway, even when crouched, can feel pretty garbage-esque at 200m, but I still land enough compound-to-compound headshots to keep me coming back to the Deadeye. Is it toxic codependence? Probably. But what do I care? I'm just a 4 star who plays the game to have fun, and the highs are worth the lows for me, since it jives with my playstyle. Oh, and then there's the fact that people have to deal with the fact that they just got sniped by the dumbest gun in the game, so that just gives you a special little feeling of accomplishment. So yeah, I totally understand why people hate it, it's a pretty stupid pick for how most people at my level seem to play, but I'm also convinced that there are plenty of potential fans put there who might like it if they gave it a real chance.

I have used the normal compact Springfield with bleeding ammo, and pair that with a bow with some frag arrows. The bow is good for staying stealthy against players and AI alike, and once you get a hit on someone with the bleed ammo, you can lob a frag arrow in their general direction and either get a kill or make them bleed again if they managed to bandage up after the first shot

This game is funny because in beginning, I absolutely loathed the Springfield and all of its variants. It didn't seem to have anything going for it... But now that I'm a fair bit more experienced, it's become one of my favorites. Although, I never leave home without some bleed ammo.

I, personally, find using a spring'com of any variety with a shotgun can be fun. The spring'coms are kind like low damage slug shotties that let you reach out that little bit. A little practice, you can use the deadeye scopes of any weapon in the same compound. Just think of it like using an ACOG in R6:S or something like that. Although pairing it with a sawn off double barrel is probably the better way to go cause you can miss that first shot and either follow up right away or bait someone into closing for a more reliable kill.

Funnily enough I started using this for a few weeks, and I am glad I did for the reasons you said.

You could use it as an M-79 with explosive ammo

Because of this video, my go to loadout use the winefield bayonet (high velocity) with the Springfield 1866 compact deadeye (bleed/normal) and it's got me covered in so many situations.

I love using my lil flintlock, and it's oh so satisfying when it actually works. Especially with the scope.

It pairs nicely with the new Centennial Shorty and Centennial Shorty Silencer as well. That long range precision paired with short/midrange, while also boosting ammo is a nice loadout.

One of my favorite loadouts is ''Spring'com'dead'' with half dumdum and Romero Hatchet with half penny shot. 60% of the time, it works everytime

@@OnStrike69 I recently tried it using the free one they gave me from trials and man is it weak if you don't hit heads. I ran out of ammo during a spawn fight at Fort Bolden against some Winfield guys and ended up having to fight with a hand crossbow

I love playing it with dum dum and dual conversions with fmj. Made them bleed and then wallbang them. Great video, I love this gun. Also Sprginfield Compact legendary hypeeeeeeeeee

I played it a lot after my most recent prestige, complemented with dual wield conversion pistols. Had surprisingly good results. But the sway is horrible and cost me so many potential headshots.

you my friend deserve more attention, very nice video. still hate the compact versions of my favourite gun in hunt.

Thanks for this video... I finally took it out and it does perform ok but dear god the sway

I come from console and I learned the game with this gun. It's my old realible. I pair it with an axe 24/7 and the Derringer on hotkey to land those follow ups. The sway is brutal but if you learn on brutal sway everything else is easy.

The Fields of Dreams Combo: Compact Springfield and Winfield Vandal. Good times to be had

currently my fav loadout is a springcomdead with dumdums and a romero hatchet with penny shot because thats two ranges and opportunities to fuck up that i will definitely be charging in with the hatchet afterwards

I really thought you were gonna forget the hip-fire accuracy. I use all the '66 compacts as hip-fire weapons, especially with explosive ammo

I kinda love it, a sniper but you dont have to fully commit. Love how it compliments dual wield too

I find it funny that the first two videos i see of this guy are the short sniper and the long pistol.

JUST started playing this game and got a free hunter that had this, I got my first 3 man squad wipe with it so its pretty neat.

I love the springfield compact... i always use it with double Pax to stack the dumdum ammo.

I took the Springfield compact (non deadeye) with dumdum and Romero hand Canon with slugs. Hit with one, quick swap, hit with the other, dead. I've teamwiped while solo with that loadout

i think nice 2nd gun for this cutie is winie with levering

im dedicated sniper and i didn't even realize that the stockless appearance added so much sway. now im using stocked snipers like its nothing

i once bring it with the no scope long normal ver of it and with fully explosive ammo, its very fun since I got some kills while taking other players kill with basically no skill at all

It's great because usually get all the Springfield for free I never pay for him and I always sell them if I get them on a character that I bought them on

Because flechette is a thing I almost never not run Caldwell compact or even if I feel spicy but don't wanna use obrez I'll use the specter compact

I like to play it with a bow, it sure has simalarity to play it with a shotgun, but the bow is decent for mid range in compound, where the shotgun stops working and anything higher this gun works fine, imo

I like it but it feels outclassed by the cut off winnie and the scoped nagant. As you say, the headshot range is nice, but it's a pipe dream to reliably hit long distance headshots with the amount of sway.

I like taking it with dual pax or scoffields for tons of ammo

I have a soft spot for this gun with steady aim and explosive ammo

Springfield also goes well with a bow tbh

Spring'com'dead + Bomblance is unbeatable

nothing as satisfying as wining a long range fight against a mosin with this.

Overdue for a legendary version!!

Sparks poison and Spring'com'dead explosion ammo with QM. It's the only way.

i think the martini and its variants are in a weird position right now because the sparks exists. especially the marksman version, love this gun but damn does it feel out of place when compared to the sparks sniper.

I didn't understand the Martini until I stopped taking high velocity with Winfields every time. Once I got used to leading with a Winnie the Martini was much easier to love, all of a sudden. It's not as suited for serious sniping, sure, but in my average MMR range you have enough people that move predictably when traveling between compounds or holding angles that the Sparks' extra muzzle velocity is rarely missed. Plus you can't stick a sword on the end of a Sparks in this game, so there's that

Double Springfield compact explosive

I watched this when it came out, forgot about it, and played this gun for the past few days. You are not kidding that it is AWFUL with a romero but it does play better with dualies. Overall I'm gonna stick with the compact or striker variants but this is a fun thing to mess around with sometimes I think.

at first it will tank your MMR, then you will play against playdoh people. That is when your real practice begins as you slowly work up to where you were before. Call me crazy but i run this solo sometimes... and usually still win.. (mostly because of the dualies but still!)

I think there is never a situation where this weapon is better than the nagant deadeye

I started taking this boi after getting 3+ soft headshots with a Rattlesnake in one stupid sniper duel with a Sparks Sniper who was so unimpressed by the headshot damage at the range (probably ~100m) that he kept peeking the same window and just eating the bullets. Ultimately the only reason it worked out for us was because my pardner grabbed a Sparks from a tower and downed him with an easy headshot thanks to the overconfidence my pathetic damage was dealing. It was sort of emasculating though to move up to closer positions under sniper fire and still get soft headshots at each new position, lol

You can believe this or not but I dropped down to a four star and over the next 20 kills I got I died maybe three times before I got back to a five-star for some reason. I was thinking dang I should be a six-star this point much less a 5. And I didn't lose track either I've literally kept track of my kills versus deaths after dropping to a four-star

the MMR is kinda weird, but it isn't really about how many times you die, its about the skill rating of who you kill and who kills you. I have had windows where like a few 4 stars kill me during a team battle, then I drop down.

@@HomeReel the thing that gets me mostly is a necro who res u right in front of the enemy over and over until u are out of health. That is when i get dropped from 5 to 4 usually. I am back at a 5 trying to get that elusive 6 just for the accomplishment. I may quit the game for a bit when that happens.

This is the worst gun in the game, and quite clearly so. And yet, as this video is proof of, it is not a bad thing. This is legit a gun I am very happy is in the game. For some, the kills with it feels great. Other people like the finesse required to use it well. Again other will experience this gun, and through being exposed to the paradoxes of it, will learn something about the game, their playstyle, and how to succeed in general. For many reasons, this is a successful gun. Even though it is a bad one. We need bad guns, and let's hope all the bad guns we'll get are this nice.

I use it just to have a cheap scope to scout compounds as a solo on my Bow Loadout. Sometimes I get a headshot or something but it's usually to find a safe approach.
