@@bostonrailfan2427 It's kinda sad that Krabs is so greedy that this is most likely true. Ik it's a cartoon but still, especially because most things in spongebob are unrealistic, but a person who's just so greedy they'd do anything to spare a few dollars IS realistic.

I really like the idea of Pearl's mother dying by fishermen. Stephen Hillenburg was a climate activist and marine biologist, speaking on the evils of illegal whale hunting would fit his motive. Also Whales being endangered could explain how little we see them in the show.

My theory is Mr Krabs married a whale in the past but ended up divorcing/separating with her due to how expensive she was. That would explain the "takes after her mother" comment. The mother ended up marrying another rich creature who would have supplied her with all the things she wanted, which kinda made the mother forget about Pearl. The planned 2 parter episode would have probably been about Pearl's mom wanting to have Pearl live with her and using her lavish lifestyle to lure her into living with her, but Pearl ultimately refuses after seeing how much her dad truly loved her.

And as you watch, listen closely to the ingredients plankton says to the lady in the stands that he gave the chum stick to.

Honestly yeah I thought I was crazy for a minute. I just thought he had a whale wife, did the bizz and got a whale daughter. It's a little funny to think about but it all made sense in cartoon logic to me

My theory: ok so u might be right about the two whale prisoners in bikini bottom, they didn’t put pearl up for adoption, they went to jail, pearl was taken by child services of bikini bottom and when she escaped, mr krabs found her wandering around, and kidnapped/adopted her, thats why there is only two other whales in bikini bottom that are similar to pearl, pearl takes the sperm whale trait from her sperm whale dad and her mom’s traits for money/shopping, so my theory is, those two prisoners ARE her parents. Mr krabs either adopted her or kidnapped her when she escaped C.S.B.B [child services of bikini bottom] through a tiny hole in the gates. And her parents probably went to jail for unknown causes. Let me know what you think of this theory. 😊

Imo more important secret is: how is Pearl so tiny? Many times across the show & movies we learn that the Spongebob's cast is small (not bigger than a squirrel) - and Pearl is barely any bigger than other characters, meaning that she's about 1 foot tall

the size issue has never come up except in the single episode where the town reverts to their normal sizes and animalistic behavior…she’s no different than plankton who’s microscopic in size in real life but is maybe 1/3rd to 1/5th of the size if others depending on the episode. only in the very first episode he was in IIRC did he come close to being “normal” in terms of size relation to the others

An old theory: Mister Krabs fell in love with a whale, she was already pregnant and her ex-husband was in prison. Then Pearl's mother died to the hooks, and Mister Krabs became a single parent.

My guess is there isn't any truth regarding the matter whatsoever, it's a hole in the history of the series that's kept intentionally open because the mystery generates intrigue which keeps people invested in the show. If they ever actually answered the question of if Pearl is actually Krabs' daughter or not, the entire intrigue around that mystery would die off and the show might actually suffer from it. Especially since the truth could never be as interesting as what people dream up in their heads.

This theory is better than the thing where krabs killed pearls mom.

Looking at this theory as a whole, I become very partial to the notion of the two whales who appeared in other episodes being Pearl's parents, with, perhaps, her taking after her father more appearance wise. Due to the fact that both whales seem to have had less than savory pasts, perhaps Mr. Krabs adopted Pearl after her parents were arrested?

The theory that states that Pearl's mother is an inmate has more evidence to it, as we can clearly see that she has an anchor tattoo on her biceps and we know that Mr. Krabs also has an anchor tattoo on his torso (Seen in "Kristy Towers"), which could point out some correlation between the two. I believe there was also an episode where Mr. Krabs had an anchor tattoed somewhere on his biceps but I can't remember its name.

The funny thing is, with how the humboldt squids range is drastically expanding with warming oceans is we didn't see one. Eventually it's gonna be all squid.

Well to be honest, Mr. Krabs used to be a Pirate (Or sailor) not sure. But as you can see, There were hooks of Pearls Mom. So it should be that Mr. Krabs's ship's the one that attacked Pearls Mom, but then He saw Baby Pearl and Decided to keep her and raise her. (Or it could also be Mr. Krabs's Father that attacked Pearls Mom and Mr. Crabs was on the scene as well)

the real question is why does Pearl never go up to the surface for air? She is a whale after all and whales breathe air

The prisoner whale theory is feasible because she has an anchor tattoo (krabs was in the navy). The hook theory doesn’t make sense (unless krabs and the whale were a couple) because he wouldn’t have been able to comment on her spending habits. Now here's how mine branched out into the dark: mr crabs family ATE or worse, PROCESSED whale meat for the crabby patties from pearls parents/mom, and when they were about to eat/butcher pearl they noticed she was alive, guilt ridden crabs adopted her. Pearl didn't know this of course.

Mr.krabs may be a cheapskate but he is rich in being a father to pearl.

My fan theory is that Mr. Krabs had a relationship with a whale in the Navy. But when they were discharged, the mother accidentally got hooked and Krabs took on the role of taking care of Pearl. Hence why Krabs is so deathly afraid of the hooks compared to everyone else.
