Tip for spider mains: spend 200 eveloution points on the move "summon 100" when you get damaged and you're on less than 5 health you can use it and it will summon 100 small spiders that can freak the human out so you could run (you can also use it to troll players when you kill you cause it automatically gets used when u die)

@@RogerTheil Kinda pointless when there are some spider mains that have invested extra points evolving their exoskeleton trait. Stomp all you want, the darn thing takes minimal damage. And you forget that certain debuffs nullify other skils, traits and stats. Arachnophobia specifically nullifies everything related to bravery, and depending on the intensity of the debuff, it can also lower mobility to 0.

@@denmark5354 oh yeah I hate those players. Talk about an annoying playstyle to fight against. The stomp and twist combo is the only thing I've found that works against them. True, some players get hit hard by those randomized debuffs. Idk how the devs think it's fair, but I guess it's one of those sneaky nerfs they give some humans just because they know it's WAY too time consuming to quit and reroll over something like that.

You can gain resistance to that debuff through research. Very few spiders can bite you let alone kill you and most bites attributed to spiders are the fault of other household pests.

jumping spiders are actually really smart players. Their intelligence seeks the highest out of all the other builds in the game. They’re strategists who optimise the most out of the least amount of effort. They can take out opponents 2 or 3 times the size they are. I mean honestly almost all spiders are smart players, they know how to use their environment well even though they’re blind most of the day.

Jumping spiders were correctly placed in A tier. However, their intelligence rating should perhaps have been a little higher. Had a girlfriend who had some as pets and I swear those little things recognized her. I'm not afraid of spiders, but don't really want them crawling on me either, but these jumping spiders actually seemed to show a limited kind of dog-like affection for her. They often rode around on her during the day when she was at work and just out and about. They were actually pretty cool little creatures.

You are definitely right. I can't remember what documentary I was watching but in it the researchers believed the jumping spiders to be the smartest in the whole insect kingdom. They use their eyes to communicate with each other I guess.

Honestly they look like sticks except for tarantulas and they are adorable

for people asking about the goliath bird eater- they're just big tarantulas, and funnily enough nowhere near the most aggressive. Bird eaters, like other tarantulas from the americas, are a lot less aggressive than ones from asia or africa, and make good pets (provided you have a basic idea of what you're doing).

There is already a spider like that in a sense. It's a type of jumping spider in SE Asia. In multiple studies it has shown to have it's own form of communication that it only uses with members of it's species. It also has been observed to actually have higher intelligence than almost all mammals other than primates, dolphins, or whales. When hunting larger targets it will actually throw rocks as a form of distraction, use previously caught small insects as bait etc...

Yes but he went over the fact that jumping spiders have excellent vision, mapping and planing, especially for a tiny 2 cm being In the rest of the clip he showed of it attacking the other spider, you see the jumping spider spot the web from afar, then scanning its surroundings and coming up with an attack plan (and of course it comes up with some splinter cell style stuff)

Jumping spider has a higher INT stat than pictured. It's important to have high intelligence in order to successfully calculate the kind of risks they tend to take. I would argue that they're a low S.

I would have to agree. Jumping spiders also have some of the most intelligent hunting strategies in the spider guild. They actively change their hunting patterns and maneuvers to optimize EXP gain. Data miners are still just figuring out the depth of their hunting capabilities. :D

Sammantha Mitcham absolutely, its important to remember that a small brain doesnt necessarily mean less potential max intelligence, and when it comes to jumping spiders, there are even builds that put so many points into intelligence that they can navigate hazardous environments by memorizing the map layout, hunt players out of their direct line of sight, mimic other builds’ behavior to infiltrate enemy bases, and even process remarkably high levels of visual data for their size, letting them recognize much larger entities as player models instead of just part of the map!

He's not a Spider in Disguise though. He's a human that adopted some spider-like qualities. Rather, what you're looking for is Spiders-Man. A single 's' in difference. But a major change in play. I think this tier list deserves a remake since it's 5 years old. I just watched the insect tier list which was amazing. I think, perhaps, even instead of a new spider tier list, maybe make an arachnid one? It's not that this video is bad, I just think that there's many interesting spiders lacking from the list, not to mention the many kinds of arachnids most people don't even know about.

Kinda surprised you didn't talked about the Goliath spider. Since I learned about its existence, my fear of spiders got worst.

There's also evidence of them running around the edges of other spider victims webs and tucking on the strings in order to make the spider react so that it positions itself more favourably to the jumping spiders optimal attack position. Quite smart

I heard the first spider main was a human player named Arachne who was well known for the decorative items she crafted. She claimed she was better at crafting these items than the mods, so Athena, one of the mods at the time, challenged her. Arachne won with a tapestry that mocked the mods, so Athena set her race to spider in anger. She even gave the spider its signature crafting ability just to rub it in Arachne's face.

I can't believe she only god a 3 day ban with no further punishment for that. God needs to choose his staff better. Changing a player race manually is illegal in the Buddhist faction, and normally leads to perm banning or permanently changing a player's race to an F-Tier lightweight class such as a Canadian Soldiers. They're an insect class that live for 2 days and then die immediately, which automatically sets someone back to a best a Mouse/Rat class.

It used to be called the presidents mansion. It was painted white to cover up the burn damage that remained after they repaired the structural burn damage. Who burned it down? Soldiers from the then named dominion of Canada. Have you ever heard the story of the tin pot navy? At the start of one of the world wars (can't be assed to remember which right now ) Canada had 6-ish ships. *FUCKING 6*. We finished the war with roughly two-HUNDRED captured enemy ships and enough constructed ships to make us the third largest naval power at the time. Canada's standing military may not be impressive, but when we need to go to war it gets impressive. REAL. FUCKING. FAST.

Had a Brazilian Wandering spider in my house before. We tried spooking, it didn't budge. We tried attacking it with a pole, it bit the pole. We tried fire. It didn't die. We had to stomp it with a pole 3 times and apply fire before killing it. It was too big to be left alone. Br wandering spiders are so aggressive you should approach them with caution. The mofos have no fear. Just hatred to everything in their path.

I love how the bark spider is just like: I swear to god man if I get back home and my web has been destroyed, I am gonna be pissed.

I’d say the intelligence stat of Jummping Spiders should have been mentioned. They need to form complex plans of attack to kill other spiders that use webs. First, they have to observe their surroundings and calculate the best form of approach to kill the enemy web-base-using spiders, then take the risky jump. Second, if now route is available, they try to putt them selves on a branch above the web, then use their silk as an anchor point to lower themselves down for a sneak attack.

There are a bunch of spider branches that have a low damage stat but are still very popular among players. The Tick build seems quite effective as they have no natural predators and have spread over a majority of the map. Also some low stat spiders are very well adapted to live in human bases. The Pholcidae branch for example also have the ability to confuse predators with their vibration skill.

There was a Jumping Spider main at my High School who was pretty keen on camping the "Trash Can" Area that's so common for Fly mains. This Jumping Spider main had potentially the most overpowered camping spot of any player I've ever come across. Huge tech for any up and coming Jumping Spider Mains. That specific Player convinced me that Jumping Spiders can't be ranked outside of S tier.

as many others have said; jumping spiders are intelligent. their exact intelligence allows for feats such as: observing and mapping their surroundings, counting (up to about 4), remembering faces, object permanence(something even babies struggle with), and much more. generally speaking their intelligence gets placed at that of a 1-2 y/o human, which is incredible for being as small as they are

I love this video so much, even if the focus on spiders as creepy (when are they really all that much creepier than a lot of other things?) Made my heart hurt a bit!

The jumping spider is actually pretty cute. Except when they jump on your face

There's a lot of tarantulas too that love jumping. One of my psalmopoeus irminia is called Jolly Jumper for a reason. I stopped counting how often she jumped on me when I opened the enclosure :D Lot bigger and heavier than any salticus or phidippus 2 cm jumping spider and not even half as smart...

Unique among arachnids, jumping spiders also have the "Adorable" buff, which can sometimes prevent it from drawing aggro against humans. It certainly works against me, I love those little buggers.

@@the_epic_uploader i know that this comment is kinda old, but that really depends on the player more than anything, specialy considering some humans get the "fearless" random trait that makes intimidation attempts much less effective while others get the "arachnophobia" random trait that makes the human more scared of even the most harmless and cute spider than something like a crocodile, meaning some humans would gladly have a spider battle summon while others would not hesitate to use the napalm tech against spiders.

The way that certain arachnids carry their babies upon their backs is SO 🥰!!!!!

There's a spider that lives on a cardboard box in my house, I give the box some taps everytime I pass it, eventually it stopped running away because it recognized that I wasn't a threat, one day I got a hair cut and tapped and the box and it immediately ran away, these little guys are pretty smart

Okay so most of these look terrifying but the jumping spider actually looks kinda adorable

Nursery Web Spiders are also pretty cute, they're part of the wolf spider subclass, and despite being quite large they prefer curling into a ball and squeaking to attempt to scare away predators and only bite as a last resort. One of my sisters suffers from the arachnophobia debuff, and even she found this cute.

It's partly the eyes, and partly the way they don't really look spidery - they don't have spidery spider legs. Spiders move their field of vision by adjusting the position of their retinas. When their eyes go black, that means it's looking at you. The family name is Salticidae, and there are several genera. that's probably what's happening sub, the mariana trench players are realy trying to come up with the most terrefyingly horrifying things that can still swim... and they're doing pretty gud, the only shitty thing is that since they are so god damm weird, and because of where they play, they need to basicly AFK for days on end to get any passive xp, and so it takes forever for them to reach a high level

@@dhruvaingale8718 , to be fair. If you have an entire class KNOWN for camping and then you go right ahead and make and anticamping build on that same class you Know you're gonna get some weird looks.

The poison splash for damage got me. I had to pause so I could like and comment, I was enjoying this so much.

The jumping spider's high intelligence and charisma stat could boost them to S tier, particularly if they're being kept as human companions. Very few arachnids get the kind of popularity and boost from humans that they do, and they're not seen as as much of a threat because of this. In the city biome in particular they could be considered S tier, since they can navigate around more easily and are less likely to be killed by their human co-habitants. Unfortunately that does mean they share space with songbirds and pigeons, however, which would be a dangerous threat to them.

It's tough being a Hobo main. It's fun to play because you can move fast and PVP other spiders but someone on the American server spread a rumor that we were killing humans and they started griefing our spawn points. ::|

GregoryMom the issue is, human players seem to have found a way around the moderators. Obviously it's only a matter of time until they catch up but with some advancements and safeguards against nerfs like natural disasters and the spawn rate of humans all around the world decreasing the chance of a widespread nerf hitting all players it's probably just best to play a slow game until they inevitably wipe themselves out. Seems to be accelerating as of late so just wait out.

Dodos spawned on a PvE herbivore island and force-quit when other players (i.e. humans, carnivores) farmed them for easy XP. They didn't fight back b/c they thought the entire server was PvE (were docile).

This is what happens when you make a build with maxed out health and nothing else. It might be a tank on underpopulated servers, but it can't get out of harm's way or tank hits or fight back or get creative or even hide when someone manages to bring in heavier weaponry.

The tarantula build also has a much higher size max than most other spider builds. The Goliath birdeater is a great example of how minmaxing the size spec of a tarantula build both opens up new PvP opportunities and deters most human players through sheer Intimidation.

Before the media made it 'normal' to be scared shitless of them, I'm sure people could actually have a conversation or two about them without 30 people butting in and saying "BUT THEY'RE SCARY." Can you just, like, avoid spider videos and leave them for people who are actually interested if you're so terrified of them, instead of clogging up the comments with "MUH SCARY SPIDERS" comments? I’ve never seen such an inaccurate listing of a player build from you before and hope you do an update video to this list to rightfully correct that atrocious intelligence rating you gave it and consider including the Huntsman spider as well. No hate or anything but I just am genuinely shocked since all research on the jumping spider’s intelligence shows it to be worthy of at least 60-70, and same goes with its power and stealth. As a Jumping Spider main I feel obliged to correct you as Jumping Spiders have some of the best intelligence and stealth builds despite being incredibly tiny and unable to change our appearance. We're not only able to disguise ourselves as ants visually to deter attackers but we've cracked the chemical code ants use making some of us effectively invisible to ants so they acts as body guards and food sources. Our intelligence is unrivaled by any other creature in our weight group and we compare to some of the smartest animals. We are not only able to plot jump trajectories but we can also plan ahead and learn which feeds backs into our stealth skill as we can descend onto unsuspecting prey and walk on the web of another spider without them realizing. I demand a public apology and correction or every Jumping Spider will grief you and may I just remind you that Jumping Spiders are the only spiders that can see you.

Don't even talk about INT until you've at least invested into the Portia skill branch. As someone running a P. fimbriata build, I can say with certainty that other spiders don't even compare and are honestly just wasting their points.

And they also have the hidden trait called cuteness, they betray their scary appearance for a more tiny, adorable look. Which in turn allows the jumping spider to survive the current human meta
