Karashibi Miso Ramen Kikanbo is known for serving the spiciest bowl of ramen you can eat in Tokyo, Japan, and not only is it insanely spicy, you’ll also find that it’s one of the most flavorful bowls of ramen you’ll ever eat as well.
They have two shops, the one of the corner serves only Tsukemen, a style of Japanese ramen where the noodles are dry and you dip them in the sauce. For the traditional bowl of ramen, you walk around the corner to the side and that’s the shop you’re looking for.
Like most ramen restaurants in Tokyo, you enter to a vending machine and choose your bowl of ramen, pay and get a ticket. There are two different spice levels to choose from, chili 1-5 and Sichuan pepper 1-5, 5 being the strongest which is called Devil Level!
I decided to go Devil Level all the way, both chili and Sichuan pepper. Price - 1500 JPY ($13.60) for my bowl. From the top bowl, you pay an extra 200 Yen due to adding so much more spices.
First of all, the Japanese food miso ramen was outstanding, the flavor of the broth was incredibly delicious. On my first bite, what hit me hard was the Sichuan pepper, that made my mouth start tingling and made it hard for me to control my mouth or even talk! The Devil Level chili was not too bad for me, but it was the huge amount of Sichuan chili that almost did me in.
You don’t have to order Devil Level, you can order whatever level you like, but the ramen at Tokyo’s Karashibi Miso Ramen Kikanbo is sure to blow you away with insane flavor!

Ying is the most supportive wife anyone could ask for. Holding their child, videoing and eating. Wow!!! And mark always had a smile on his face. I would also if I had her by my side.

I am so happy to see them together, experiencing the places, food, people, sights and sound. You only see 30 min of their day when he is eating and not the all the other hours they are together. Typical thinking probably would keep the wife and kid at home in the US, while hubby travels (good luck with keeping a relationship).

Both of them are almost instantly spiced out hehe. Brave! I confess I'm rather curious myself, just for a sip, and because cha sieuw is one of my favourites. And I love sichuan pepper, but this is probably far too spicy for me. Looks mouth watering though..

I thought I would never see Mark struggle with spiciness. My life is complete now.
I've actually tried this Ramen just two months ago again in 2023. It's still is incredibly spicy as if those extra yen went into just a mound of spicy powder that you must willingly pay for. I'm surprised Mark was able to talk at all haha. As always, lovely family. God bless you all. :)

I tried it a few times since I love spicy foods. For reference, the max (kinda) spiciness that you can order without paying extra for extreme spicy version is like 1.5? times more spicy than the 2x buldak. But the one you have to pay extra oh boy I was sweating and my nose was running. Still the most amazing ramen tho. My gf ordered the one with coriander topping and that was surprisingly good too!!

There is no way I could handle the spice - but it looks so good - Mark is the best at describing what he is eating hands down.

I watched this video 20 times, I really really wanna go there and try the devil level ramen myself the next time I'm in Tokyo! :D Looks amazing.

More "spiciest food from places" videos please! I honestly think Mark is the only person to genuinely love and describe spicy food with passion, would make for an amazing series

Kikanbo is by far one of my favourite ramen places in Japan. Not only do they make very hot ramen but they are also super flavorful, which is usually lacking in other places where they just add chili powder to their regular broth, making heat the only thing you feel.

This is the only time I saw Mark suffering with spicy , that ramen must be really 🌶️🔥 but it looks absolutely delicious
I saw Mickey Chen eat this and he couldn't even finish the broth. you ate the whole bowl and still took it way better than he did. legendary chilli head!!!

The way this bowl would have me glued to the toilet for 4 days, and I know I can handle heat better than the average. Mark is just next level, love the content keep it up. and shout out to Ying and her multi tasking abilities. keep up the great content
You know if Mark is shaking while eating spicy food then it will probably kill the average person.

Mark is a true person . He explains everything so raw that you understand what is really about the meal. I just love watching him much love to you and your family.
