i live in a predominantly hispanic hood and you can pretty much find Olde English ML anywhere…except nowadays it’s in plastic and not glass, but the upside is they made the bottle 42oz instead of 40oz because the neck is wider! it also has a blue temperature-sensitive sticker on the label that turns blue when it’s cold (just like Coors Light, i believe they own OE800 now)

Been drinking Malt Liquor since the Summer of 1981. I've tried all of the products mentioned. I do miss E-40. It was a nearly ten percent concoction with an essence of honey. It was hella tasty and functioned exactly as advertised. After I graduated from college in 1988, I took my first job in Los Angeles. I would literally have thirty dollars in my checking account five days until payday. I had eight dollars in cash in my wallet. It was Saturday, so I bought two forties of OE, a pack of Camel Lights and a copy of the LA Times. At that time vice was cheap, and I had the rest of the day to have a great rest of the day and weekend. I still enjoy an occasional Steel Reserve or Mickey's.

Yup that first hurricane high gravity at 12 years old in a parking lot across the street where we had a homeless guy buy us a beer and we bought him one

Colt45 and OE still. First drink was some OE & Wild Irish Rose drinking behind the laundry mat. I was like 13 or 14 then. I used to get Coqui 900 mostly in the 80's and early 90's but have not seen it around for awhile now. I don't drink as much now in my 50's as I did in my teens thru 30 but on a hot day I will bring out a boombox with a few tapes, pick a R/C car and enjoy a ice cold 40. Cool thing is I live in the woods so I can crank up the box with no neighbors to disturb close by.

I had a buddy introduce me to 40s. First one was a Magnum and it was disgusting but I couldn't believe how cheap it was and how well it did its job. Only one local gas station sold the real cheap og 40s but a few still carry them, just at like $4 a pop. I've since learned about their history in the hip-hop community and I sort of like being able to experience a taste of it now.

Never forgot I had someone buy me my first Olde English "800" 40oz. Was in the fridge til' we got off school than found out some OG drank it on me! I was upset but couldn't say nothin' lol.

Just from an uneducated european perspective I'm wondering; are the majority of american muslims not abstinent from alcohol? I know not all black folks are muslim, but things like nation of islam or "slave names" are just nothing too comon in a caucasian demographic. Austria is certainly a beer loving nation, but it's really uncommon to see drunk turks, arabs or persians here- that would be very haram.
