    Thank you a lot for this! Could you please make a video talking about the different medical specialties in Germany, mainly in terms of work-hours, average differences in salaries and how much competition one would expect to find accessing each specialty? Love your contents, a big hug from neighbouring Portugal :)

    LOL i love easy cases, not boring at all. Sometimes we forget thinks look easier because we make them look that way. Pay attention to a cardiovascular anesthesiologist or a general anesthesiologist managing a cardiac arrest. It is just a matter of expertise. I would like to add a con, which is the one i dislike the most, we don't get to create a private practice. As anesthesiologist is uncommon to have an office practice, except for pain medicine and in this case you would have to expand your education for at least 2 years because being and expert on pain management is needed for a successful practice. Thanks for the videos and the information, im very interested on moving to germany with my girlfriend which is a general practitioner interested on urology. Your videos motivate us go forward.

    To my knowledge virology specialty is done with microbiology and infectious diseases all together. This specialty of course is only offered in big hospitals such as university hospitals because it is very research-focused. Getting in at once is challenging. You can try of course. Some people do 1-2 years in internal medicine and then make the swap to "infectious diseases/virology" Hope this helps!

    Hola Eutopia ! Could you explain the ICU in Switzerland ? I’m checking for my residency in a few years , and so noticed That in Switzerland it’s 6 years on it’s one … and you don’t end up with the double hat 🧢 of anesthesia and intensive care …. 6 years just ICU in Switzerland ? And 5 years for anesthesia/icu in gwemany ? sounds a bit weird no ? feliz navidad !

    Have you thought about working as a Honorararzt? It's pretty popular among anaesthesiologists as far as I know, and the salary could double to triple

  • @EutopianDoctor

    @EutopianDoctor

    It has pros and cons If you work 3+ days in a month you already earn more money. On the other side it might be the case that nobody needs you... As a resident I wouldn't recommend doing Honorararzt in a hospital. Maybe smaller jobs

    It might be a little more difficult for some procedures, but never impossible. The most important role of an anesthesiologist is decission making, so i suggest you to go for it. Tipically laringoscopes are made to be held with your left hand, good news it already exists laringoscopes for right hands, also prosthetics are getting better and more accessible with time, you might have one that allows you to do the job equally or better than any other anesthesiologist.
