My Jaw dropped on the floor upon your declaration of preferring the SVS compared to R11 meta. As one who loves neutral transparent delivery of music with a huge airy soundstage, I'm intrigued. Thank you, Andrew, for enticing me to consider a brand of speakers that I had categorized as a mid level sub manufacturer.

SVS may have been more "mid-level," but I feel this new line is their attempt to move into higher-end waters.

First, I LOVE your videos, content, and opinions! Second, I've heard both the SVS Pinnacle (not the Titans) and the Kef R11 Metas in my space and I much preferred the R11's less "active energy in the high end". I do understand why some will prefer the SVS in review/listening environments where they swap out speakers a lot. They have an "energy" to them that is easy to notice. However, when you have to live with speakers like this for years, you can get fatigued quickly from non-linear (not saying these are) or less than smooth in-room responses. If you bought the R11 Metas, DO NOT REGRET! You got AMAZING speakers with YEARS of research behind them! If you're considering the SVS, REALLY take the time to audition. Do not fall prey to the "I'm in the store" sound! Take them home and listen, listen, listen! My $.02 anyway. Great job Andrew/Kristi as always.

Happy Sunday guys/gals! What a great review; I can only hope subs appreciate the quality of this one. It’s very concise, understandable and, super informative, offering prospective buyers great insight as to what they might be purchasing - you can’t ask for more than that. Such a pleasure watching these. Very happy this wasn’t a “dud” for SVS as they are truly a high value brand, and while maybe not 801 level (as Kristi indicated) to be considered in the same conversation as R11’s says it all. They’re also sexy AF IMHO!

This tweeter is basically made in the same way as a diamond tweeter from Bowers and Wilkins. Since Bowers and Wilkins also use an aluminum dome as a base before they diamond evaporated the aluminum dome tweeter with diamond. Only this speaker is 5 to 10 times less money. And they have solved the bass cabinet resonants with back-to-back cancellation, so these speakers are possibly as pure in sound as Bowers and Wilkins when all is said and done.

Either way, great review and thoughts on this thing. I’m glad that you’re still 100% real and tell it how it is. A bit of a shock you chose this over R11 Metas. Thanks for another great review! As a newly retired person I have embarked on a quest to upgrade my music system, a feat I last undertook about 20 years ago and boy have things changed! So having folks like you help navigate the market is super helpful. I have been hunting down speaker choices and the SVS Evolution line is on the list so your review was awesome to watch. I see SVS had said that placement closer to the wall was fine but you opted to move the Titans out and I was wondering whether that was a rear port issue mainly or something else. I reached out to SVS to clarify some of the placement issue's and they very quickly responded, with a link to your SVS review. I suggested they send you out quickly the rest of the surround suite for a proper movie and music review as you seem to be leading the pack. Would love to see how the Pinnacle stacks up against the R11 as all info seems to have the Pinnacles as markedly better than Titans. Keep up the good work, loving it!

Great review and one I’ve been waiting for. But now thanks to you these speakers will be out of stock for the next year. Thanks a lot 😂. Seriously though, if these are as good you say they are without a separate amp, this is a huge deal for someone considering these to other speakers that require more power to sound good. That combo with the Sony 7000ES is sounding like a winner.

Thanks Andrew! I’m _really_ looking forward to Kristi’s impressions. Like you, I also really like the R11 Meta sound, so this has been a fantastic review for me. Out of curiosity, why the Titan’s vs the Pinnacles? On a price-point to value comparison, the Pinnacles seem like they’d be a little closer to the R11 Metas. Did the decision to review the Titans deliberately factor in the price point consideration?

Center imaging and vocals were definitely still at seated ear level, though true to life in terms of physical scale. That said, more ambient cues and sound effects in movies seemed to be larger with respect to verticality compared to, say, the Concept 50 and maybe even KEFs, but that last one is a big maybe.

Having heard the R11 Metas (and purchasing the R7 metas), I'm blown away that these pulled off the upset! It's clear that the KEFs do measure better, but it's hard for me to imagine something I'd prefer more than the R Meta series from KEF. Well done!

Hey there! Great review. My first speakers I bought were and still are Klipsch RP 600M’s and the 504C center. I was looking at upgrading and the KEF R7 Meta + R6 Meta Center were the speakers I was eyeing but the $7k price point is hard to stomach. $5k for these + the ultra evolution center sounds much more in a comfortable price range for me. It sounds like if you were buying brand new now that’s the same direction you’d go over the KEF?

thank you for the brief comparison with the Concept 50, which I currently own and like very much. The Concept does need a sub, or two, though... maybe a single KEF kc92? Thoughts on that? That said, I am intrigued by the svs Titan. From your description, it seems like it has the sound qualities I prefer, the relative neutrality, the openness...

Andrew, first time commentator but long time watcher. First, love the new format with the discussion video on all videos that week with Kristy. Specific question on these speakers, if I’m looking at the KEF R11 vs SVS, but I don’t have 24” in my living room, more like 8-12”, does your final verdict change. Similar to you I also prefer a more dynamic sound. I’m a long time Paradigm fan, and am enjoying the RP-8000F’s in my dedicated Theater Room.

I had a similar question. 😊 I have 24” max from behind, but not 3ft as you mentioned you found best for the KEFs. Also, I have a max of 8.5ft between speakers. Is 8.5 wide enough, or in this case…would the ML F100s be better fit? Trying out the KEF R11 Metas now and waited for your review to use the link and buy the Titans. 😊

I've been interested in the R11 Metas after I upgraded to LS50 meta from old bookshelves in our family room last year. I was considering Dyn Evoke 10 initially. I have some old Dyn Focus 220/200C in my main theater and been looking for upgrades. I own a 3000 micro and dual pc-4000 for subs so when I saw you "bought" the Titans, I was intrigued. I have never considered the Ultra bookshelf. I've been looking at another very different speaker, Gershman Studio II bookshelfs that has that warm sound. The Gershman's are sealed and have a strong bass response, but couldn't A/B them. Very biased setup since they were played on a high-end tube integrated amp. Being in Hawaii, it's impossible to audition many options with the hassle of returns if even possible with restocking/shipping fees. Gershman, Kef R11, and now SVS? Lookiing forward to Friday for more commentary about SVS. Got me curious since I'm not in a rush....🤔

I've had my Polk signature S55, S35 and S15 for 6-7 years and while I'm happy with them, I'm curious about other speakers. I have a whole slew of SVS speakers including Ultra Towers, Prime Pinnicals, a pair of Ultra SB16 subs, Ultra Center Channel, Hight speakers, satellites, other SVS subs etc, but I’m not an SVS fan boy. I own the SVS equipment because I feel they offer amazing value and quality for the money. If I had a place or need for the new Elevations I’d buy a pair, but the truth is I’m so happy with what I’ve got I just don’t need or want to make any changes. My Ultra Towers paired with a Peachtree Nova 300 two channel amp provide all the music bliss I need!

Hey Andrew, love your take on audio. Because of your reviews I bought the Klipsch Heresy IV. Love these speakers to death. Then I watched your La Scala review. Had a single La Scala in the garage I bought for 500 thinking sooner or later I’ll find another, and did find a 2nd one for 700 missing thecrossover. Installed Crites crossovers and tried them out, wow what an awesome upgrade from the IV’s, put the IV’s into a 2 nd system with the NAD c700, again from one of your favorable reviews. How would the SVS compare to the 1980’s La Scala? I would love a smaller foot print for my room and loose the two NHT Ten subs. My front end is McIntosh c50 pre, and I rotate between a McIntosh mc352, a Carver Crimson Tube amp and a pair of DIY class D amps that sound as good if not better than the mc352. The only reason I still have the 352 is a love of the blue meters. I know I’m shallow. LOL Thanks for your opinion. Really looking to downsize but can’t go backwards on the sound experience! Thanks again!

Hi Andrew. Was trying to find the best place to ask you a question and after looking through the members section, this looked like the best way. It is not related to the SVS review, but I have a system question. My Focal Sopra 2s finally arrived in Singapore from my home in Oregon (I relocated). I have a NAD M33 driving them, but I'm not very engaged with the sound. I have been looking at the Eversolo A8 and HiFI Rose RS130. Would love your opinion in which you think is best. Also, which Amp would you recommend. in each case to drive the Focals? So, I guess the question ends up what would you recommend from a streamer/DAC/preamp/AMP perspective for the Sopra 2s. Thank you so much in advance. Nick

Very interesting speaker. I really love KEF and also really like coincident driver designs in general but I am not surprised that some people will prefer a design like this. Coincident drivers like the uni-Q do have some natural issues and drawbacks that KEF has worked extremely hard to minimize but still exist and there is definitely a place for a design like this in the market. What a great time of excellent choices!

The SVS Titans have interesting design. Actually I like the way they look, but in your comparison because I have the power with two block our arcam amps. For the value should I lean towards the Polk R700s which I've been wanting? And with the Titans being slightly out of my price range, should I consider the kefs metas I've owned a Q series pair for years and really like their performance.

I am trying out the KEF R11 Metas, but saw your teaser photos of the Titans otherwise I wouldn't have known they existed. I waited until your review and affiliate link before ordering and let SVS know that's what I was waiting for. .🙂I'm comparing now myself and relate to everything you said in the review. I do find so far. that the R11's seem to just sound pleasant with everything and great for long sessions. There is something about the KEF sound that I love. However, you are so right about Titans having a less colored midrange that brings a bit more transparency. It seems the KEFs almost have a slight bit of a weighty reverb (if that makes sense and maybe it's my room) that seems unnatural vs the SVS. I think so far I prefer the Titans for movies and perhaps the KEFs for just a few songs. Hard decision, but for the price and my 50/50 use of home theatre/music, leaning towards the SVS so far. I've had the Polk R700's too and agree they are a warm sound comparatively. If I remember correctly, I felt more pressure from the Polks...which was an awesome thing about those speakers. Can't wait for the Friday Unplugged! Very curious what Kristi has to say!
