The Spanish Fury at Antwerp - Pixel History
Wars are more often than not dirty affairs that catch many innocents in their path. Rarely does this ever count more than during rebellions, in which civilians are often the target of the opposing side's frustrations. One such famous examples are the atrocities committed by the Spanish soldiers during the Eighty Years' War, in which multiple cities were hit hard by their fury.

I was actually thinking of going out of my way to promote this video upon release, but since it turned out a bit shorter than planned, I figured I'd wait until my next and longer one. Don't want to constantly spam-advertise my videos every single time, but perhaps that's where the problem lies as well.

No. Shortly after the sack these Spanish soldiers, or "Tercios", were called to join in Philip II's prestige war with the ottoman Turks. Nothing happened to their commander either and he was the one who encouraged them!
