It’s been hot and humid in Nerja. So it was the perfect time to do something different - like have a Spanish beer challenge!
We’re not big beer drinkers and weren’t familiar with most of the beers on the Spanish market. Prior to the beer challenge I also didn’t know that Spain was such a beer country. I was surprised to find out when doing my research that Spain is the 4th biggest producer of beer in Europe (behind Germany, the UK, and Poland).
In this challenge we sampled some of Spain’s most popular beers: Mahou, San Miguel, Cruzcampo, Estrella del Sur, Victoria, Estrella Galicia, Alhambra, Estrella Damm.
Which did we judge to be the best beer? You’ll find out in our video.
But it wasn’t just about choosing a winner, it was about trying our a variety of Spanish beers and brands. There were some surprises there as well.

Fun video! On our last Spanish trip Paul would go for a Mahou and Alhambra. Lol loved the 'what pressure, what are you talking about!' 😂😂😂 and both being tipsy at the end!

"Less talking, more drinking." LOL. I think you were starting to slur your words toward the end there Frank! That little open-air area seems like a nice place to have been stuck during the shutdowns. Safe travels to your next destination!

Yes, that Lissette always has a quick response :) That back yard has been great and I got the apartment precisely because we were worried of another lockdown. We had been stuck in an apartment with no balcony or yard for 4 months and we weren't going to go through again.

German beer still my favorite (with beer from Bamberg being the best from any place I've been). But that's maybe my German genes. Thanks for the kind words :)
