Tony’s line answering Janice question about what he did with Ritchie’s body is sooooo fkn hilarious
The conflict within Carmella is a cool part of this show. She knows what Tony does for a living but tries to rationalize it and "be a good person", while still enjoying the fruits of her husband's illicit labor. Edie Falco does such a great job as Tony's wife. The nuance of all the characters (even Ritchie had a good side) is a great aspect of this series. Kudos to David Chase, the showrunner.

She is the biggest hypocrite of em all!! But I don't hate her character that much, not as much as Janice. God, I cannot stand her for a second!!
This show was so insane back when it was airing. Most people had never seen TV this hardcore before.

@@orangewarm1 Too many climaxes is ruining the MCU.. it's why I think She-hulk and Wandavision are the best things they made since Endgame, because they broke the mold. Same with The Sopranos.. though The Sopranos didn't break the mold. The Sopranos made the mold.
I'm so jealous that you'll get to experience the season 2 finale for the first time. Imo it's a top 5 episode in the series. Possibly top 3.

Wait till later on in the series when Phil gets added to the show, one of the best additions to the show.
I love how badass Janice was in this and stunned by just how quick her discussion with Ritchie escalated which ended completely leftfield & totally unexpectedly. Amazingly crafted two episodes. And I had to laugh when Janice referred to Livia as "that black hole upstairs" :))

The best part is how Junior warned Richie in no uncertain terms that Janice was not to be taken lightly - Richie simply didn't listen.
One thing about this show that is so great is it's replay value. You can rewatch this show many many times and still catch new things on each viewing.
Ritchie punching Janice was foreshadowed early, when Ritchie threatened Christopher not to raise hands to Adriana *UNTIL* he had married her, after which it was (apparently) okay.
Fear not my friends. Though you WILL miss the show when it’s over, that’s true enough… But this wonderful wonderful series is so complex and so rich, I promise you it bears re-watching many times. I firmly believe the Sopranos will be part of your lives long into the future. I used to watch it about once every year and that was enough time gone by to make it seem fresh on each re-watching. When you first announced you were watching this, I thought to myself “oh God they are going to absolutely love this”. I am happy to see that that seems to be the case.
"Doesn't feel like we're building up to a big moment." If they only knew what's about to happen in the second episode of this review...
I'm pretty sure this was the first show for adults I actually watched consistently as a kid. Being 13-ish I didn't understand most things but characters like Richie coming in, causing such an impact and then just going out so suddenly (and pathetically) was completely new to me. I'm glad I got to watch this show as it came out.

It's kind of funny to think that if they held those Pokey Man cards for long enough it might have been one of their best long term investments. I think what really set Janice off was that line, "are you going to cry now?" Just the brutally condescending and belittling way that he said it was like a stone that started an avalanche. Great reaction guys!
it seems that Richie laid his hands on Janice before he gave her his name, contradicting the rule he once told Christopher about Adriana... a wiseguy who doesn't live by his code gets what he deserves! 😂

I've seen the Sopranos several times...man, Aida Turturro (Janice) was so good in that killing Ritchie scene and aftermath. I appreciate her acting the more I see it.

Finally have reached my favorite (or at least near the top) lines in the entire series when Tony is talking to Richie: "Don't give me those Manson lamps." I use it way too often lol

Love that line..
"All in all, though, I'd say it was a pretty good visit." - Tony thanking Janice.
I don't know what's more entertaining - watching these choice The Sopranos scenes again, or your reactions! Samantha's face is so expressive in those big moments, and it's clearly not at all calculated or rehearsed. So much fun to watch. :)
The reason for Pussy's 180 is because he now realises that he is being pushed out and passed over. Remember when Paulie told him to "give him 5 mins" whilst he talked in private to Johnny Sac - Pussy was eating his food and Paulie called the waitress over to keep his plate warm etc

exactly, he finally realized there is no hope anymore. His back is against the wall, his only options seem to be killed if found out or going to jail for almost the rest of his life. Up to that point I think he still hoped he could get in some sort of witness protection program, but he doesn't has any chance of providing the police with important information anymore. He is in panic mode now and gets delusional about his future, because the reality is to grim to bear.

Tons of people put Breaking Bad as their number 1 show (it is indeed a brilliant show) but just the sheer number of iconic characters and different stories that are weaved throughout this series puts The Sopranos at the top spot on my list.
Yeah Janice clipping Richie was one of the biggest shocks for me out of the entire run of the show. Well that and Vito.
Episode 12, Knight in White Satin Armor, is my favorite Sopranos episode. During the closing credits where 'I Saved the World Today' was playing, I literally said to myself that this was a perfect hour of television. Every series has my favorite episode, from The Wire to Breaking Bad. This episode shows how an engaging storyline, great acting and a perfect soundtrack can create classic episodes from every series.
I remember when this episode aired. No one, and I mean no one saw that scene coming when Janice shot Richie. One of the biggest twists/surprises in tv history
LMAO at "he fked around and found out"
I know there is a ton to go with Sopranos, but one day you guys have to do Deadwood, another staple of the 2000s golden age of television explosion from HBO, and to me next to Sopranos in terms of the very best. You'd definitely love it, some of the most brilliant dialogue ever written. Sopranos and golden age HBO, I have seen these series so many times now but these reactions almost make it like the first time all over again. I look forward to these every week and they allow me to tune out of the increasingly ramping day to day struggles these days even for just a bit. Keep up the great work!

Yes! Deadwood was a great show and one of my favorites. They would love it.
It was very interesting to see Janice go from "Parvati" a devout feminist, then sliding into the mobster house wife Carmela type role by the end of the season. What do y'all think drove her to becoming that type of woman? Was it greed? A thirst for some power? Jealousy, she sees this larger than life lifestyle her little brother Tony has. The Sopranos are a fucked up family, and this show is such a masterpiece.
“he fucked around and found out” LMAO the perfect reaction 😭😂
"He f*cked around and found out" might be the best summarization of Richie's entire arc...pushing, and pushing, and pushing...
Given they're both set in New Jersey, I always thought there should have been a House / Sopranos crossover where House diagnoses Tony's panic attacks.

Richie getting shot was so fucking cathartic.
Richie said he would cut up Christopher piece by piece but in the end it was Chris cutting up Richie.
You hit the nail on the head with Carmella. She does like to feel superior and more moral than others.
24:12 "maybe janice is going to do it herself!"
Excellent point from Samantha about Richie underestimating Janice about thinking she would just take it. Also sorry to repeat it, but I love how much you love the show.

Janice is one of the greatest characters of all time ...shes annoying manipulative murderous dangerously immature cocky but also not confident ...shes so hateable but shes also so strong and passionate and formidable you just root for her and all her flaws start to galvanish into the heroism of being a mother figure
Olivia was laughing when Tony fell down the stoop.
I zoomed in on Tony’s mother’s face when he fell and dropped his gun. She’s laughing. 😂
I can't watch right now but I can like and comment to help with the algorithm. So hi tbr and Samantha, see y'all later lol.
Tbh this episode made me think that if Junior had just kept his ego in check and be the Consigliere for Tony, things would have gone a whole lot smoother for The Sopranos Family and for Junior himself. But then again, he was a proud man and he disdained being walked over and wanted the limelight.

Silvio was a better consigliere - Junior exposed himself too much and was too hot headed
30:15 most ppl would TAKE that compliment - but Mrs TBR kept it real "no - i said that, but i didnt REALLY think it would happen" respect!
Yesterday was the 32nd Anniversary of PREDATOR 2. Also RIP David Jason Frank, Tommy Oliver the Green Power Ranger. Passed away at age 49.
I used to know some old mob guys, what fascinated me was they said that the relationship portrayed between Tony and the FBI in this was mostly realistic. The FBI would follow and watch the mob, so the mob would keep an eye on the feds. . . .eventually, they just stopped hiding from each other and went face to face. No point in bullshitting each other. Even if they weren't corrupt, they still talked and had "encounters" with each other. I always thought that was funny
You have the right feeling about Furio; he's the very definition of a professional mafia soldier.
She was laughing.🤣So was he.
Your faces at 24:28 when Janice "divorced" Richie 😄
'Take him out.... and Janice" HAHAHAHAHAHHAA!
After you are done with this great show. You should check out another great HBO show The Wire. You guys are by far my favorite reaction site.
Enjoy your reactions, get ready for the season finale! Another memorable episode!!
Can’t wait till Bobby become one of favorite characters on sopranos
The dealing on the route thing, Richie heard Tony telling him don’t earn a living, while Tony was actually telling him the old “Don’t shit where you eat” because those two activities are fine on their own but you don’t combine the two. Also Jackie Junior doesn’t understand that respect is not hereditary, you might be born in and around the life, and might be looked on favourably because of nepotism, but you don’t inherit any position, you earn it.
I can’t believe how many episodes you two have already watched. When the series was over, I wished there were more. Btw, I hate the mother. Lol. Keep up the great work.
I love the irony in the fact that it was Richie’s gun that killed him. The way Janice so offhandedly said “he usually takes his clip out.” Oooooh that irony is rich. Good for her!
I've waited so long for you two to get to get to episode 12. You're reaction was worth the wait, haha!
Janice killing Richie is the best thing she ever did!
"Furio" Giunta looks like Lewandowski from FC Barcelona xD
Loving these Sopranos reactions, watching you two watch these episodes for the first time is almost like me watching them for the first time..... such a great show. Keep up the great work!!!!
Janice gets punched and Richie gets shot to death. Talk about the most satisfying scene in television history!
Oh dear lord wow can’t wait for your 300 reaction tomorrow
Waste management is to this day one of the few mafia rackets left.
House Arrest is a great episode. All the little things tie the central theme of this ep together. Tony's rash, Melfie asking that woman to move her cigarette, Tony mentioning the pursuit of happiness, Melfie talking about the shark allegory, and the guy crashing his car while speeding down the neighborhood. A person like Tony has to keep moving, all the time. If he stops, he'll inevitably end up having to face all the damage that he's done to other people's lives, and that will lead him to an inescapable self destructive crash, just like the speeding guy.
Janice 86ing Richie is one of my Top 10 Sopranos Moments for sure. I literally cheered the first time I saw it.

So so happy to revisit this show this year with you. 2x12 ending was indeed omg. Also I love all the actors, always on top of their game
Sal obviously was just trying to impress the Feds with out actually giving them anything that will take Tony down. He’s thinking he can wiggle his way out of this situation without actually doing any real damage to the family. But it’s not working.
