The lore going chronologically from ancient alien races and god to funny hedgehog going fast is so hilariously jarring.

I'm shookened to my core that you managed to make this. I didn't even believe that making one cohesive sonic timeline could be possible. My compliments to you man, really well done

To be fair, we still are somewhat on the fence about that. Him and his prototype being “consumed” is a very vague way to phrase it, leaving things up to interpretation. For all we know it might mean something along the lines of him not being dead but rather sealed inside the Phantom Ruby like Chaos was in the Master Emerald. We really can’t be sure

its funny too because Emerl's back story is completely skipped over even though it lead's to some important moments in the sonic lore, why the knuckles clan wanted the emeralds so badly that they'd defile a sacred land and why gun started to fear gearlds work so much they'd raid the arc leading up to the shadow story

While I disagree on the bit about the Knuckles clan (what with Chronicles not considered canon and there being a 1,000 year difference between Emerl's creators and the Knuckles clan), I wholeheartedly agree on how he ties into the ARK's lore. He also directly ties into Sonic Advance 3 and by extension IDW, with Gemerl being made using Emerl as a template.

I'm pretty sure Sonic Battle is a side game which is why Emerl was not mentioned, and I think Mother Wisp was only a final boss in the DS Version of Sonic Colors which I happen to own

One bit of correction, Sonic doesn't live on South Island, he was born on Christmas Island, then when he was young, he decided to use his Biplane, the tornado, to travel the world. During one of the travels, before the events of Sonic 1, he encounters Eggman, and decides to pout a stop to his plans for world domination.

Weeeeelllll, there's technically the side stuff that ties in, like Sonic Rush [Blaze], and Sonic advance [Cream]. But yeah for the mainline games, spot on. Would like to see side game lore next. As it's just as crazy.

Yeah my favourite thing is that Sonic has canonically became an isekai mc on two different occasions in completely different fantasy settings and just never bothers to bring it up

Great video! You really managed to explain well everything and somehow organize the lore as confusing as it is lol

Having just learned there is a wholesome ending to the last game with Dr. Eggman learning the value of caring for someone and Sonic is able to focus on finding future personal growth. Dr. Eggman does deserve a War Crimes trial at the bare minimum tho, his crimes were global and near genocidal multiple times, but still, warms my heart to see that sick SOB liking the idea of being a Dad, not a Dictator.

Left out the lore concerning Blaze and her world, the Babylonians, the story book series and the Rival series.

Yeah, I know I missed a few games. Decided to stick to the major plot points to keep things simple. I would have otherwise named it "The Entire Sonic Universe Explained in Under 10 Minutes" 😂 It was hard giving Blaze the cut since she's in my top 5 character list. I'm down to do this format again with the spinoff games/other plotlines I missed

@@TheMentok Fair enough, if it’s just the major ones than it’s understandable since some of the ones I mentioned were kind of spin-offs. If you do decide to redo with all of them, hopefully Mephiles’ involvement at least gets a mention.

I actually think the final horizon is the cannon one it just makes a lot more sense

Yeah I'm pretty sure I've read somewhere that Final Horizin is canon while the original ending was something put together due to crunch time.

with the release of Sonic Superstars I believe they’ve not only backed out of the two dimensions (classic and modern) a while ago, but now recently backed out of Generations creating a split timeline that leads to Mania and Forces which I believed for a while. Now Sega is saying that Mania happens after Sonic 3&K, and Superstars is sometime in between Mania and Adventure

This was a pretty good explanation on universe of Sonic the hedgehog Well I don't know why people say That's Sonic 4 is where they got their modern look when adventure exists Now Sonic 4 is not cannon since people don't like that game and it's not even finished because episode 3 never happened and was abandoned 12 years ago but I do respect the theory as to what others they're trying to do

I once sat down friend who is a fan of kingdom hearts and told him the entirety of the sonic franchise lore including the chaos Emeralds lore and the split timeline theory before the retcon. And he Told me how can I think kingdom hearts is confusing knowing all this? I told him its like breathing I don't think about.

This is GOLD content! Magnificent. Even makes me want to play games that I’ve skipped due to not being appealing to me (Sonic’06 and Forces). Just wish you’d squeezed in the story books ones (Wildfire and Black Knight) they are great games for me.

Sonic 2 takes place before CD. Literally confirmed by Naoto Ohshima himself no matter what Origins and Ian Flynn claim. Also you mention 06 (even tho it’s really not suppose to be canon anymore but for some reason is treated as such) but not the Rush games (where Blaze is introduced into canon) or the Rivals games (which properly reintroduces Silver into the canon). In the Classic timeline, Sonic actually failed to collect the time stones because eggman had the last one, therefore mania shows little planet still conquered by eggman.

What about the stories of (at least): Sonic 2 (8 bit), Sonic Chaos, Sonic Triple Trouble, Sonic Blast, Tails' Sky Patrol, Tails Adventure, Sega Sonic (arcade), Sonic Labyrinth, Knuckles Chaotix, Sonic 3D Blast, the Sonic Advance games, Sonic Battle, the Sonic Rush games, the Sonic Rivals games, the Sonic Storybook games, the Sonic Riders games, Sonic Mania, Sonic Superstars, Sonic Dream Team and the Sonic IDW comics

At 3:35 you mention that Sonic turns super to defeat Robotnik again, except that would be Hyper Sonic... I know it's minor, but I do feel the need to point it out considering the significance of the transformation on the series as a whole. Game Apologist has great videos on the subject if anyone is interested!

Infinite isn't dead. There is one ruby left on sonic mania that was never brought up. And we know it's wasn't destoryed. And consumed could mean he was contained in the ruby. And the moment he did leave was left open. It didn't sound like a death it sounded like a forced retreat.

just a tiny correction! • sonic doesn't live on south island, he's actually from a unknown island called "christmas island". and since he got out of there, he's being living as a nomad, always traveling freely
