It's crazy to think that the Solar Auxilia started out as a passion project by FW designer Edgar Skomorowski, and now they're one of the most iconic elements of 30k. Goes to show what a good idea well-executed can accomplish.

The helmet design needs work, but the rest of the armor looks good. Reminds me of the Elysian Drop Troops. EDIT: The Ash Scorpion helmet is much better.

Impressive Scribe. The weight behind the spear tip of the Legiones. With the Solar Auxilia able to conduct independent operations to the legions. Human professional soldiery not simply a mob equipped with flak armour and stubbers or lasguns. But an actual tactical and strategic asset. My mind is in awe of the glory of The Emperor's armed forces with the Solar Auxilia. Glorious.

I love Warhammer I've read 43 Horus heresy books in the last 2 years. I started on lore channels then books. Your work is amazing 30k is my favourite era the Primarchs , legions the writing is amazing. Having a perpetual solider I think it alonious ,who remembers fighting at Verdun and Waterloo. Honestly as interesting as the idea is for Ollanius Pius to have fought in historic battles of human history, his immortality somewhat lessens the impact of his confronting of Horus as he believed he would regenerate

My friend has a rather interesting, and totally-not-heretical, theory that the Imperial had in fact, a more than adequate forces to reconquer the galaxy without having to resort to the warp trickery in creation of the Astartes. The Emperor had the Imperial army, the Mechanicus Skitarii, and the Thunder Warrior who are just as mighty if not more than the Astartes (and not to mention the Custodes), only that the Thunder Warrior has a rather short life - which is actually a plus consider that the immortal Astartes increased their chance of turning traitor, at least half of them did turn on the Emperor after all and render him a mummy on the throne.

Simply... The best lore channel out there. The rendition of Imperial history through the eyes of an imperial historian encompasses all this universe can be. Echoing the codicies we all read as youths this channel shows us how this universe is unique in that the viewpoint and prejudices of a human gifted with knowledge in these dark times is a burden in itself. It is a mirror into our own humanity and the darkness of our own, or indeed any, age.

@lioheart2356 if you're looking for good lore videos and other 40k stuff I recommend 40k theories tactica imperialis and lutien. Find arch can be good but I prefer channels that keep their videos in universe. He seems to have to many complaints about everything and injects politics into Warhammer like no tomorrow

My question Scribe. Was the Void armour allowing of augmentation of baseline human strength and endurance? Whilst not Astartes power armour. Clearly a Solar Auxiliary in void armour would be superior to a modern guardsman in basic flack. If their armour provided additional capability. My mind is in awe of the ingenuity of the servants of The Emperor during that time.

Indomitus Crusade doesn't have enough lore, unfortunately. Here's hoping that they will improve upon that

Facing a lack of troops was an obvious issue the crusade would face sooner or later. Maybe the master of mankind should not have had his loyal thunder warriors disposed so fast and thrown them into the meatggrinder of the Geat Crusade instead?

Yes. Though I don't know about sending them away, many guard Terra itself or in the case of some of the higher prestige auxilla such as the Lucifer Blacks, who now guard the palace walls.

Alin Danila indeed Lucifer’s blacks are still around in smaller numbers for guard duty of the high lords according to the war of the beast series there’s not much lore on solar auxilla outside the red books unfortunately

GW should just give them rules in the 41st millenium. Hell, Bob-G or the fabstodes can just reinstate after the whole deamon visit on terra. Srs, they should be along with other regiments too. More guard variety = More cash for GW

Back during the Heresy, the Lasgun was considered a more ADVANCED weapon than what was standard. That, and other Solar Aux. Units use Volkite and stuff.

I'm pretty sure that it's pronounced hop-light but then again, I'd be surprised that people more 35,000 years from now even knew the word. We don't have any words that we know of that are from 10,000 years ago and while some modern words are certainly descendants from older times, they've undoubtedly changed over the ages. Modern English isn't even 300 years old which is why older books than that use words like thee, thou, doest, or bringeth that don't exist in modern English. Descendants of most of those words exist: thou is now you, doest is now does, bringeth is now brings, etc. Even the older versions of English weren't along that long with the longest lived one existing for a mere 700 years. Really makes you think about how much there is that we'll never know and how much our descendants will probably lose.

They are my least favorite part of heresy. They are the reason we didn't get something interesting to represent the imperial army.
